ABSTRACT

The study was carried out concerning value reference points and attitudes of native population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) intended for health preservation. The analysis was applied to answers of 292 respondents residing in rural area of Yakutia. The analysis of answers of value motivation section demonstrated that for most respondents their health is a priority value of life. At that, most of respondents misunderstand and underestimate role of health in their life because they are unaware of health as an instrumental value. The health as an instrumental value gives its priority to persistence and diligence and hence ranks lower as compared with terminal value. The respondents assume that health mainly depends on diet, life-style, ecology. The results of analysis of answers to questions of "emotional" and "behavioral" sections testify in most of the respondents absence of comprehension about responsibility for one's own health, inadequate commitment to healthy life-style and passive attitude to health. The more active attitude to health is established in respondents of mature age that is rather related to deterioration of well-being feeling and presence of chronic diseases. In the younger age, most of respondents consider they are healthy and hence ignore prevention of diseases. Thereby, in spite of that health is mentioned by respondents as one of priority values most respondents are missing both attitudes to health preservation and clear-cut strategy of health-preserving behavior. In conditions of cardinal alteration of traditional way of life and life-style of native population of the North, behavioral habits of self-preserving behavior helping to survive in the severe climate conditions became inadequate. Nowadays, it is necessary to develop a new behavior strategy of health preservation.

ABSTRACT

The evaluation of economic damage was implemented in relation to premature mortality of population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the region with particular social economic and natural climatic conditions specific to territories of the North. The calculation of economic damage is based on methodology proposed by number of ministries of the Russian Federation and Rosstat in 2012. The presented evaluations and analysis of materials give an idea about total amount of economic damage because of mortality of population of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) which is necessary to consider during development of regional programs of decreasing of population mortality.

ABSTRACT

The article considers results of single-step study in random sampling of female students of the M.K. Ammosov north-east federal university (n=456). The study was carried out to investigate somatotype and functional state of circulatory system. The standard technique was applied to measure height, body mass, chest circumference, level of arterial pressure and rate of heart beats. The type of somatotype was established using Pignet index. The tone of vegetative system was determined using Kérdö index. The adaptation potential of circulatory system was determined using functional changes index. The results of study established that in 61% of examined female students the type of constitution corresponds to normosthenic one. The percentage of persons with asthenic and hypersthenic type of constitution amounted to 27% and 12% correspondingly. The signs of increasing oftone ofsympathetic nervous system are observed in 89% of girls. The functional condition of circulatory system is evaluated as "tension of adaptation mechanisms" that is apparently related to period of adaptation to new conditions. The prolonged preservation of such states results in exhaustion offunctional resources of organism and can promote development of diseases. In conditions of impacting of unfavorable ecological factors the deconditionning disorders can significantly contribute to health disturbances and decreasing of life quality. To preserve youth's health during period of education the comprehensive strategy is to be implemented such components as dynamic monitoring of health, organization of adequate diet, explanation of necessity of observance of sleep and rest pattern, development of conditions for active aerobic physical exertion and activities on correction of risk factors of development of diseases are to be included.

ABSTRACT

The study was organized to evaluate initial health condition and to detect risk factors of chronic diseases in first year students of University. The sampling consisted of 649 students aged from 15 to 30 years (mean age is 18.8 ± 1.5 years). The analysis of total morbidity demonstrated that 46.1% of first year students suffered from chronic diseases. It is noted that diseases of musculo-skeletal system have especially high prevalence in students. The analysis of data of anonymous survey concerning behavioral risk factors established prevalence of tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption and sedentary life-style. Among students, 23.5% of males and 9.3% of females smoked and correspondingly 28.5% and 12.5% took alcoholic drinks. The physical activity of students was insufficient and only one third of respondents follows healthy life-style. The group of healthy students consisted only 18.2% and 81.8% had different deviations i.e. risk factors of development of chronic diseases.

ABSTRACT

The materials of a combined examination of 72,348 children and adolescents of two rural areas during field work are presented. Reversion to tuberculin tests was found in 2,837 (3.7%) of the children. The hyperergic reaction to tuberculin had 2,994 (3.9%) of those being examined. The postvaccination reaction was absent in 18.8% of the young children, in 39.1% a postvaccination cicatrix was of small size (2-3 cm long). As a result, measures were taken aimed at health improvement and treatment of sick and infected children.
