ABSTRACT

AIM: To examine postmenopausal women free of organic cardiovascular lesions receiving replacement hormonotherapy (RHT) for ECG abnormalities, control of the detected cardiovascular defects. MATERIALS AND METHODS: ECG was conducted in 61 postmenopausal women before and during RHT with climen and climonorm. RESULTS: ECG registers frequent functional abnormalities in postmenopausal women. A 3-month RHT improved the patients' condition. ECG parameters improved on RHT month 9. CONCLUSION: RHT of postmenopausal women corrects general condition of such patients as well as functional ECG parameters.

ABSTRACT

Analysis of the findings of ultrasonic examinations of the fetal heart in pregnant women with antibodies to phospholipids has shown changes in this parameter in 42% of the examinees, in 3 cases antenatal fetal death was revealed. The detected changes were of different nature, but in the majority of cases they were of a compensatory type. Marked hypertrophy of the right ventricular myocardium, whose work in the antenatal period is largely responsible for the viability of the fetus, was found.

ABSTRACT

Echocardiographic findings and catheterization outcomes were compared in 191 patients with congenital heart disease. There was a regularity of changes in echocardiographic parameters depending on the nature of hemodynamic loading. Indirect ultrasound signs were revealed, which determined the severity of various intracardiac hemodynamic manifestations and latent heart failure.

ABSTRACT

A total of 48 patients with interatrial septal defect were examined over time during pregnancy and after delivery. Echocardiographic criteria in the assessment of the volume of the arterial-venous blood ejection in this congenital heart defect were used. Correlation between a clinical course of pregnancy and postdelivery period and the basal level of hemodynamic disturbance was obtained. A critical level of shunt with the initial signs of disturbances of myocardial compensatory processes was revealed.

ABSTRACT

The author has reviewed the results of echocardiographic studies in 51 patients with Eisenmenger's syndrome including 15 pregnant women. In 41 cases the parameters of ultrasonic examination are compared with the results obtained from the catheterization of the cardiac cavities and major vessels. The most informative parameters of the echocardiogram in Eisenmenger's syndrome are identified.

ABSTRACT

Changes in heart cavities were examined echocardiographically in 71 patients with various forms of defective interatrial septum. Echocardiographic findings were correlated with heart cavity catheterization data in 64 cases and verified at surgery in 46. Criteria have been established for the assessment of arterial--venous blood discharge in relation to the changes in heart cavity size.

ABSTRACT

The findings of echocardiography in 12 patients with prolapse of the mitral valve are correlated with the clinical and angiocardiographic data and the results of catheterization of the heart cavities. The characteristic symptoms of prolapse of the mitral valve are described.
