ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of Bianyanning on acute pharyngitis in rats, and to provide evidence and experimental data for its clinical application. METHODS: The acute pharyngitis of rats was induced by spraying ammonia directly to their throat. The model rats were randomly divided into model control group, the high-, medium- and low-dose group of Bianyanning, while normal rats were used as control group, 10 in each group. After the corresponding drug treatment, the symptoms and manifestations of each group were observed and recorded; 24 hours after last gavaging, blood samples of each group were collected from the abdominal aorta. The serum contents of interleukin 1-beta (IL-1ß) and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) were detected by ELISA. HE method was used to observe the characteristic of the lung tissues and the transmission electron microscopy method was used to observe the trachea cilia. RESULTS: After the treatment, compared with the model control group, the high-, medium- and low-dose group of Bianyanning, the symptoms of acute pharyngitis such as inflamed and congestive throat were relieved obviously. The morphological changes of lung and bronchus tissues were apparently improved. The contents of IL-1ß and TNF-α in serum were decreased significantly. CONCLUSION: Compound Bianyanning can promote the recovering process of acute pharyngitis, improve the morphology of lungs and bronchus, which may be related to inhibiting the releasing of the IL-1ß and TNF-α in serum.

ABSTRACT

This study was aimed to investigate the hemostatic effects of hemocoagulase agkistrodon (HCA) and its mechanism. The procoagulative and hemostatic effects of HCA were evaluated by using rabbit blood coagulatin time and mouse tail bleeding time; the mechanisms of HCA hemostatic effect were analyzed by using rabbit blood clot lysis and fibrinogen lysis. The results showed that HCA shortened the rabbit blood coagulation time and the mouse tail bleeding time significantly. The effects are nearly similar to that of positive control (reptilase). HCA also induced rabbit blood clot lysis and directly hydrolysed the alpha-chain of fibrinogen. It is concluded that HCA exert its hemostatic effects by hydrolysing the alpha-chain of fibrinogen, but it is not able to induce production of XIII factor.

ABSTRACT

The kinds of fertility genes and its genetic characters for D2-type CMS lines of common wheat were studied, the results showed: (1) For D2-type CMS line, there was wide restoring sources and high digree of restoration in common wheat varieties (the restoring degree of 33.61% varieties exceeded 50%), and new CMS lines were easily bred (25.21% varieties could maintain male sterility). These characters indicated that D2-type CMS line was higher value in applied study, compared with T, K, V-type CMS lines. (2) There were two forms of nuclear genotype for D2-type CMS lines, namely A1(sterile gene) and A2(sterile gene + inhibiting gene). In nucleus of restorer lines, the fertility genotype was conditioned by 6 forms: C1(major restorer gene), C2(major restorer gene + minor restorer gene), C3(minor restorer gene), C4(major restorer gene + inhibiting gene), C5(major restorer gene + minor restorer gene + inhibiting gene), C6(minor restorer gene + inhibiting gene). The genetic expression of fertility genes was affected by environmental factors. The basic model of effective combination was A1 + C1, A1 + C2, A2 + C2. (3) The allelic restorer-genes were characterized by incomplete dominance and the nonallelic restorer-genes were characterized by additive effect, which was the important basis of breeding good restorer lines.

ABSTRACT

On the basis of genetic characters of D2-type CMS lines, restorer lines Yi4060, M8003, 6D/6R, GR1, 960789, Bao769-22-1 et al. were gained from crossing selection. The results of genetic analysis of F2, F1BC1 population and allelic analysis of restorer genes, successive selection of self fertility from F1 showed that fertility restoration of these restorer lines was controlled by two pair independent major-genes(dominant) and different-dosage minor genes. Authors proposed that the two pair independent major-genes should be designated as D2Rf1 D2Rf1, D2Rf2 D2Rf2. The model C2(major genes + minor genes) should be first selected in breeding restorer line.
