ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: It is important to explore strategies reducing the number of SB cores taken to minimize biopsy-related morbidity and patient's discomfort during biopsy. This study aims to optimize prostate biopsy procedures by reducing the number of systematic biopsy (SB) cores while preserving cancer detection rates in the era of combined biopsy. PATIENTS AND METHODS: We prospectively recruited patients with ≥1 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) lesions and they underwent transperineal combined 12-core SB+3-core targeted prostate biopsy (TB, reference standard). New strategy was defined as a laterally 6-core SB+3-core TB. Patients were served as their own control. Detection rates for overall prostate cancer (PCa) and clinically significant PCa (csPCa) were compared among the standard SB, MRI-TB, 6-core SB +3-core TB, and reference standard. Pathology consistency was assessed using the Kappa test. RESULTS: A total of 204 men were included, of which 111 (54.41%) and 92 (45.10%) harbored overall PCa and csPCa. Referenced combined biopsy detected significantly 6.86% (P = .0005) or 4.90% (P = .0044) more csPCa than performing only SB or 3-core TB, but was comparable to the new biopsy strategy. (45.10% vs. 43.14%, P = .1336) Similar results persisted when limiting patients in biopsy-naïve men or stratified by Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System scores, PSAD, and index lesion parameters. Additionally, performing 6-core SB+3-core TB demonstrated high consistency with reference standard in grade group distribution (Kappa coefficient: 0.952 for all, 0.961 for biopsy-naïve men) and achieved superior sensitivity of 95.7% (All: 95% CI: 89.2%-99.8%) and 96.9% (Biopsy-naïve: 95% CI: 91.1%-99.7%), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The 6-core SB+3-core TB approach maintains expected detection rates while reducing the total core count, offering a promising alternative to the reference standard, which may help to tailor transperineal combined biopsy procedures.

ABSTRACT

Addressing the critical need for accurate fall event detection due to their potentially severe impacts, this paper introduces the Spatial Channel and Pooling Enhanced You Only Look Once version 5 small (SCPE-YOLOv5s) model. Fall events pose a challenge for detection due to their varying scales and subtle pose features. To address this problem, SCPE-YOLOv5s introduces spatial attention to the Efficient Channel Attention (ECA) network, which significantly enhances the model's ability to extract features from spatial pose distribution. Moreover, the model integrates average pooling layers into the Spatial Pyramid Pooling (SPP) network to support the multi-scale extraction of fall poses. Meanwhile, by incorporating the ECA network into SPP, the model effectively combines global and local features to further enhance the feature extraction. This paper validates the SCPE-YOLOv5s on a public dataset, demonstrating that it achieves a mean Average Precision of 88.29 %, outperforming the You Only Look Once version 5 small by 4.87 %. Additionally, the model achieves 57.4 frames per second. Therefore, SCPE-YOLOv5s provides a novel solution for fall event detection.

ABSTRACT

Eleven alkaloids including four previously undescribed oxoisoaporphine alkaloids, menisoxoisoaporphines A-D (1-4), four known analogs (5-8), and three aporphine alkaloids (9-11), were isolated and identified from the rhizomes of Menispermum dauricum. Their structures were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic data and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Among them, compounds 1 and 4 were the first samples of oxoisoaporphine with C-6 isopentylamino moiety, and 2 was a rare C-4 methylation product of oxoisoaporphine alkaloid. The in vitro anti-inflammatory activity of compounds 1-11 was performed by evaluating the inhibition of NO level in LPS-induced RAW264.7 macrophages. Among them, compound 4 exhibited the most potent NO inhibition activity with an IC50 value of 1.95 ± 0.33 µM. The key structure-activity relationships of those oxoisoaporphine alkaloids for anti-inflammatory effects have been summarized.

ABSTRACT

Viral infection induces production of type I interferons and expression of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) that play key roles in inhibiting viral infection. Here, we show that the ISG guanylate-binding protein 5 (GBP5) inhibits N-linked glycosylation of key proteins in multiple viruses, including SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. GBP5 binds to accessory subunits of the host oligosaccharyltransferase (OST) complex and blocks its interaction with the spike protein, which results in misfolding and retention of spike protein in the endoplasmic reticulum likely due to decreased N-glycan transfer, and reduces the assembly and release of infectious virions. Consistent with these observations, pharmacological inhibition of the OST complex with NGI-1 potently inhibits glycosylation of other viral proteins, including MERS-CoV spike protein, HIV-1 gp160, and IAV hemagglutinin, and prevents the production of infectious virions. Our results identify a novel strategy by which ISGs restrict virus infection and provide a rationale for targeting glycosylation as a broad antiviral therapeutic strategy.

ABSTRACT

Background: Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is a severe traumatic event for women of childbearing age. However, the association between RPL and female sexual dysfunction was unknown. Aim: The study sought to investigate the association between RPL and sexual dysfunction, and to explore the risk factors of sexual dysfunction for RPL patients. Methods: A multicenter cross-sectional study involving both RPL patients and healthy women was performed in 3 different hospitals in West China from May 2021 to January 2023. Baseline information including sociodemographic data and disease histories were collected. The Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) was used to assess the sexual function of participants. Outcomes: The main outcome was the proportion of women at increased risk of sexual dysfunction (total FSFI scores <26.55), and the secondary outcome was risk factors of sexual dysfunction in RPL patients. Results: A total of 233 RPL patients and 185 healthy women were included in this study. RPL patients had significantly lower total FSFI scores (median 31.7 [interquartile range, 26.6-33.5] vs 33.0 [interquartile range, 31.2-34.1]; P < .001) and a significantly higher risk of sexual dysfunction than healthy women (24.9% vs 8.6%; P < .001). Body mass index >24 kg/m2 (adjusted odds ratio [OR], 4.132; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.902-8.976, P < .001), working >8 h/d (adjusted OR, 2.111; 95% CI, 1.020-4.369, P = .044), and unexplained RPL (adjusted OR, 3.785; 95% CI, 1.967-7.280, P < .001) were independent risk factors of sexual dysfunction for RPL patients. Clinical Implications: RPL patients, especially those patients with the previously mentioned risk factors, should be focused on the risk of sexual dysfunction, and appropriate preventions could be applied. Strength and Limitations: We explored the association between RPL and sexual dysfunction and explored the risk factors of sexual dysfunction among RPL patients for the first time, and the multicenter data increased the generalizability of results. However, the cross-sectional design did not provide an exact causal relationship between RPL and sexual dysfunction, and potential risk factors related to mental health were not investigated. Conclusion: RPL patients were at an increased risk of sexual dysfunction. Overweight, fatigue caused by work, and unexplained RPL were risk factors of sexual dysfunction for RPL patients.

ABSTRACT

X-ray digital radiography plays a pivotal role in accessing the internal structure of objects. Nevertheless, key imaging parameters, such as source-to-target distance or number of projected images needed for three-dimensional construction, mostly rely on real-life trials thus increasing radiation exposure risks. This paper introduces a recently developed software platform known as GMAX (Geant4-based Monte Carlo Advanced X-ray) that helps addressing above issues from a simulation perspective. GMAX employs Geant4, a Monte Carlo simulation code at its core and facilitates high-fidelity X-ray imaging, requiring no prior user experience. Compared to CAD models that only reflect object's geometrical information, GMAX simulates how objects interact with photon and can accurately evaluate important imaging parameters, such as target object to detector distance. It also provides three-dimensional construction functionality for images and therefore could be used as an effective tool for X-ray non-destructive testing and inspection.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the predictors of clinical pregnancy and live birth rate in patients with recurrent embryo implantation failure (RIF) treated with in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) technique. Method: This retrospective cohort study was conducted in Jinjiang District Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, China. Patients were recruited who were enrolled at this hospital between November 1, 2019 and August 31, 2022, and who met the following criteria: a frozen embryo transfer (FET) at day 5 or 6 blastocyst stage was performed and the number of transfer cycles was not less than two. We collected information on age, height, weight, number of embryo transfer cycles, and information related to clinical outcomes. We used the group of patients who underwent ERA testing as the study group and those who underwent FET only as the control group, and matched baseline characteristics between the two groups by propensity score to make them comparable. We compared the differences in clinical outcomes between the two groups and further explored predictors of pregnancy and live birth using survival analysis and COX regression modeling. Results: The success rate of clinical pregnancy in RIF patients was 50.74% and the live birth rate was 33.09%. Patients in the FET group were less likely to achieve clinical pregnancy compared to the ERA group (HR = 0.788, 95%CI 0.593-0.978, p < 0.05). Patients with >3 previous implantation failures had a lower probability of achieving a clinical pregnancy (HR = 0.058, 95%CI 0.026-0.128, p < 0.05) and a lower likelihood of a live birth (HR = 0.055, 95%CI 0.019-0.160, p < 0.05), compared to patients with ≤3 previous implantation failures. Patients who had two embryos transferred were more likely to achieve a clinical pregnancy (HR = 1.357, 95%CI 1.079-1.889, p < 0.05) and a higher likelihood of a live birth (HR = 1.845, 95%CI 1.170-2.910, p < 0.05) than patients who had a single embryo transfer. Patients with concomitant high-quality embryo transfer were more likely to achieve a clinical pregnancy compared to those without high-quality embryo transfer (HR = 1.917, 95%CI 1.225-1.863, p < 0.05). Conclusion: Not receiving an ERA, having >3 previous implantation failures, using single embryo transfer and not transferring quality embryos are predictors for clinical pregnancy in patients with RIF. Having>3 previous implantation failures and using single embryo transfer were predictors for live birth in patients with RIF.

ABSTRACT

The term "Holocene temperature conundrum" refers to the inconsistencies between proxy-based reconstructions and transient model simulations, and it challenges our understanding of global temperature evolution during the Holocene. Climate reconstructions indicate a cooling trend following the Holocene Thermal Maximum, while model simulations indicate a consistent warming trend due to ice-sheet retreat and rising greenhouse gas concentrations. Various factors, such as seasonal biases and overlooked feedback processes, have been proposed as potential causes for this discrepancy. In this study, we examined the impact of vegetation-climate feedback on the temperature anomaly patterns in East Asia during the mid-Holocene (∼6 ka). By utilizing the fully coupled Earth system model EC-Earth and performing simulations with and without coupled dynamic vegetation, our objective was to isolate the influence of vegetation changes on regional temperature patterns. Our findings reveal that vegetation-climate feedback contributed to warming across most of East Asia, resulting in spatially diverse temperature changes during the mid-Holocene and significantly improved model-data agreement. These results highlight the crucial role of vegetation-climate feedback in addressing the Holocene temperature conundrum and emphasize its importance for simulating accurate climate scenarios.

ABSTRACT

Indirect pulp therapy (IPT) is a common conservative treatment for deep dental caries. However, the potential risk factors for the prognosis of IPT have not been well studied. This study retrospectively investigated the success rate of IPT in treating primary molars with deep caries and the factors potentially affecting the two-year success rate. A total of 303 primary molars in 202 children (106 boys and 96 girls) were included in this study. These primary molars were identified as having deep caries by clinical and radiographic examinations and were treated with IPT. The factors potentially affecting the IPT success rate were analyzed after two years of follow-up. The results indicated that the two-year IPT success rate was 86% (262/303). The success rate of primary molars with and without stainless steel crowns was 96% (120/125) and 80% (142/178), respectively. Primary molars treated with stainless steel crowns showed a significantly lower risk of failure (hazard ratio (HR) = 0.18, 95% confidence interval (CI): (0.10, 0.34), p = 0.01). There were no significant differences in other factors, including gender (male vs. female), age (preschool vs. school age), cooperation level (Frankl 2 vs. 3 or 4 scales), arch type (maxillary vs. mandibular), tooth type (first vs. second primary molar), or pulp capping material (calcium hydroxide vs. glass ionomer cement). IPT is an effective, conservative treatment modality for primary molars with deep caries. Stainless steel crowns could significantly improve the IPT success rate.

ABSTRACT

Road crack detection is one of the important parts of road safety detection. Aiming at the problems such as weak segmentation effect of basic U-Net on pavement crack, insufficient precision of crack contour segmentation, difficult to identify narrow crack and low segmentation accuracy, this paper proposes an improved U-net network pavement crack segmentation method. VGG16 and Up_Conv (Upsampling Convolution) modules are introduced as backbone network and feature enhancement network respectively, and the more abstract features in the image are extracted by using the Block depth separable convolution blocks, and the multi-scale features are captured and enhanced by higher level semantic information to improve the recognition accuracy of narrow cracks in the road surface. The improved network embedded the Ca(Channel Attention) attention mechanism in U-net's jump connection to enhance the crack portion to suppress background noise. At the same time, DG_Conv(Depthwise GSConv Convolution) module and UnetUp(Unet Upsampling) module are added in the decoding part to extract richer features through more convolutional layers in the network, so that the model pays more attention to the detailed part of the crack, so the segmentation accuracy can be improved. In order to verify the model's ability to detect cracks in complex backgrounds, experiments were carried out on CFD and Deepcrack datasets. The experimental results show that compared with the traditional U-net network F1-score and mIoU have increased by 13.6% and 9.9% respectively. Superior to advanced models such as U-net, Segnet and Linknet in accuracy and generalization ability, the improved model provides a new method for asphalt pavement crack detection. The model is more conducive to practical application and ground deployment, and can be applied in road maintenance projects.

Fluoride is unnecessary in the human body. Long-term fluoride exposure may lead to immune system abnormalities. However, the mechanism remains unclear. This study aim to explore the mechanism of fluoride interference in the immune system and also identify the key indicators of fluoride-induced immune damage. Questionnaires were used to collect basic information. Multiple linear analyses and other statistical methods were used in order to process the data. Flow cytometry was used to detect relevant immunomarkers and analyze immune damage. Simultaneously, Wistar rats and cell models exposed to fluoride were established to detect the effects of fluoride on immune homeostasis. The results showed that sex, residence time, smoking, and Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection may indirectly influence fluoride-induced immune damage. In residents of fluoride-exposed areas, there was a significant decrease in CD3+ T lymphocytes and CD4+ and CD8+ cells and a downward trend in the CD4+/CD8+ cell ratio. CD4+CD8+/CD4+, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and Tregs/effector T cells (Teffs) ratios showed opposite changes. Fluoride inhibits T cell activation by inhibiting the expression and phosphorylation of Protein Kinase C-θ (PKC-θ), hinders the internalization of T cell receptors, and affects NF-kB and c-Jun protein expression, leading to homeostatic Treg/Teff imbalance in vivo and in vitro experiments. This study represents the first evidence suggesting that PKC-θ may be the key to immune imbalance in the body under fluoride exposure. It is possible that Tregs/Teffs cell ratio provide a reference point for the diagnosis and treatment of fluoride-induced immune damage.

ABSTRACT

T-cell receptor (TCR) recognition of antigens is fundamental to the adaptive immune response. With the expansion of experimental techniques, a substantial database of matched TCR-antigen pairs has emerged, presenting opportunities for computational prediction models. However, accurately forecasting the binding affinities of unseen antigen-TCR pairs remains a major challenge. Here, we present convolutional-self-attention TCR (CATCR), a novel framework tailored to enhance the prediction of epitope and TCR interactions. Our approach utilizes convolutional neural networks to extract peptide features from residue contact matrices, as generated by OpenFold, and a transformer to encode segment-based coded sequences. We introduce CATCR-D, a discriminator that can assess binding by analyzing the structural and sequence features of epitopes and CDR3-ß regions. Additionally, the framework comprises CATCR-G, a generative module designed for CDR3-ß sequences, which applies the pretrained encoder to deduce epitope characteristics and a transformer decoder for predicting matching CDR3-ß sequences. CATCR-D achieved an AUROC of 0.89 on previously unseen epitope-TCR pairs and outperformed four benchmark models by a margin of 17.4%. CATCR-G has demonstrated high precision, recall and F1 scores, surpassing 95% in bidirectional encoder representations from transformers score assessments. Our results indicate that CATCR is an effective tool for predicting unseen epitope-TCR interactions. Incorporating structural insights enhances our understanding of the general rules governing TCR-epitope recognition significantly. The ability to predict TCRs for novel epitopes using structural and sequence information is promising, and broadening the repository of experimental TCR-epitope data could further improve the precision of epitope-TCR binding predictions.

ABSTRACT

The atomic precision of the subnanometer nanoclusters has provided sound proof on the structural correlation of metal complexes and larger-sized metal nanoparticles. Herein, we report the synthesis, crystallography, structural characterization, electrochemistry, and optical properties of a 133-atom intermetallic nanocluster protected by 57 thiolates (3-methylbenzenethiol, abbreviated as m-MBTH) and 3 chlorides, with the formula of Ag125Cu8(m-MBT)57Cl3. This is the largest Ag-Cu bimetallic cluster ever reported. Crystallographic analysis revealed that the nanocluster has a three-layer concentric core-shell structure, Ag7@Ag47@Ag71Cu8S57Cl3, and the Ag54 metal kernel adopts a D5h symmetry. The nuclei number is between that of the previously reported large silver cluster [Ag136(SR)64Cl3Ag0.45]- and the large silver-rich cluster Au130-xAgx(SR)55 (x = 98). All these three clusters bear a similar metallic core structure, while the main structural difference lies in the shell motif structures. Electron counting revealed an open electron shell with 73 delocalized electrons, which was verified by the electron paramagnetic resonance analysis. The DPV electrochemical measurement indicates a multielectron state quantization double-layer charging shape and single-electron sequential charging and discharging characteristic of the AgCu alloy cluster. In addition, the open-hole Z-scan test reveals the nonlinear optical absorption (2-3 optical absorption in the NIR-II/III region) of Ag125Cu8 nanoclusters.

The corticospinal tract (CST) is the principal neural pathway responsible for conducting voluntary movement in the vertebrate nervous system. Netrin-1 is a well-known guidance molecule for midline crossing of commissural axons during embryonic development. Families with inherited Netrin-1 mutations display congenital mirror movements (CMM), which are associated with malformations of pyramidal decussation in most cases. Here, we investigated the role of Netrin-1 in CST formation by generating conditional knockout (CKO) mice using a Gfap-driven Cre line. A large proportion of CST axons spread laterally in the ventral medulla oblongata, failed to decussate and descended in the ipsilateral spinal white matter of Ntn1Gfap CKO mice. Netrin-1 mRNA was expressed in the ventral ventricular zone (VZ) and midline, while Netrin-1 protein was transported by radial glial cells to the ventral medulla, through which CST axons pass. The level of transported Netrin-1 protein was significantly reduced in Ntn1Gfap CKO mice. In addition, Ntn1Gfap CKO mice displayed increased symmetric movements. Our findings indicate that VZ-derived Netrin-1 deletion leads to an abnormal trajectory of the CST in the spinal cord due to the failure of CST midline crossing and provides novel evidence supporting the idea that the Netrin-1 signalling pathway is involved in the pathogenesis of CMM.

BACKGROUND: Berberine is an active compound found in different herbs used in Chinese medicine and is well-known for its potential anticancer properties. The study aimed to figure out the role of berberine in regulating the malignant behavior of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) cells. METHODS: LSCC cell lines (SNU-899 and AMC-HN-8) were treated with different concentrations of berberine (0-200 µM) to determine its cytotoxicity. The migration, invasion, and apoptosis of LSCC cells were measured by wound healing assays, Transwell assays, and flow cytometry. Western blot was performed for the quantification of proteins involved in PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling. RESULTS: The viability of LSCC cells was dose-dependently reduced by berberine. Berberine dampened LSCC cell migration and invasion while augmenting cell apoptosis, as evidenced by a reduced wound closure rate, a decrease in invaded cell number, and a surge in cell apoptosis in the context of berberine stimulation. Importantly, the effects of berberine on the cancer cell process were enhanced by LY294002 (an inhibitor for PI3K) treatment. Moreover, the protein levels of phosphorylated PI3K, AKT, and mTOR were markedly reduced in response to berberine treatment. CONCLUSION: Berberine inhibits cell viability, migration, and invasion but augments cell apoptosis by inactivating PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling in LSCC.

BACKGROUND: Esophageal chromoendoscopy with iodine solution is important for detecting early esophageal cancer. The effect of routine treatment for lesions lightly stained with Lugol's iodine solution is limited, and the addition of natural substances to a regular diet is becoming increasingly common. Vinegar has antitumor effects as reported in previous studies. AIM: To evaluate whether vinegar supplementation could improve the prognosis of patients with lightly stained esophageal lesions. METHODS: This prospective single-centre trial included consecutive patients with lightly stained lesions between June 2020 and April 2022. Patients in the experimental group received increased amounts of vinegar for 6 months. The primary outcome of the study was the clinical therapeutic effect. Complications related to vinegar ingestion and adverse events were also recorded in detail. RESULTS: A total of 166 patients were included in the final analysis. There was no significant difference in the baseline data between the two groups. Intention-to-treat (ITT) analysis demonstrated that the rates at which endoscopic characteristics improved were 33.72% in the experimental group and 20.00% in the conventional group (P = 0.007); and the rates at which biopsy pathology improved were 19.77% and 8.75%, respectively (P = 0.011). Additional vinegar consumption had a statistically protective effect on the rate at which endoscopic characteristics improved [hazard ratio (HR) ITT = 2.183, 95%CI: 1.183-4.028; HRper-protocol (PP) = 2.307, 95%CI: 1.202-4.426] and biopsy pathology improved (HRITT = 2.931, 95%CI: 1.212-7.089; HRPP = 3.320, 95%CI: 1.295-8.507). No statistically significant effect of increased vinegar consumption on preventing high-grade intraepithelial neoplasia or early cancer was observed (HRITT = 0.382, 95%CI: 0.079-1.846; HRPP = 0.382, 95%CI: 0.079-1.846). The subgroup analyses indicated that the overall therapeutic improvement of endoscopic characteristics and biopsy pathology seemed more obvious in older (age > 60) male patients with small lesions (lesion size ≤ 0.5 cm). Three patients in the experimental group reported acid regurgitation and heartburn. No adverse event during gastroscopy were recorded during follow-up. CONCLUSION: A moderately increased ingestion of vinegar could not directly reduce the risk of esophageal cancer in the mucosa dysplasia population, but it improved the endoscopic characteristics and ameliorated the biopsy pathology to a certain extent. Further research is needed to verify the effect of nutritional intervention on precancerous esophageal lesions.

ABSTRACT

To address the need for multivalent vaccines against Coronaviridae that can be rapidly developed and manufactured, we compared antibody responses against SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, and several variants of concern in mice immunized with mRNA-lipid nanoparticle vaccines encoding homodimers or heterodimers of SARS-CoV/SARS-CoV-2 receptor-binding domains. All vaccine constructs induced robust anti-RBD antibody responses, and the heterodimeric vaccine elicited an IgG response capable of cross-neutralizing SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2 Wuhan-Hu-1, B.1.351 (beta), and B.1.617.2 (delta) variants.

ABSTRACT

The algal-bacterial shortcut nitrogen removal (ABSNR) process can be used to treat high ammonia strength wastewaters without external aeration. However, prior algal-bacterial SNR studies have been conducted under fixed light/dark periods that were not representative of natural light conditions. In this study, laboratory-scale photo-sequencing batch reactors (PSBRs) were used to treat anaerobic digester sidestream under varying light intensities that mimicked summer and winter conditions in Tampa, FL, USA. A dynamic mathematical model was developed for the ABSNR process, which was calibrated and validated using data sets from the laboratory PSBRs. The model elucidated the dynamics of algal and bacterial biomass growth under natural illumination conditions as well as transformation processes for nitrogen species, oxygen, organic and inorganic carbon. A full-scale PSBR with a 1.2 m depth, a 6-day hydraulic retention time (HRT) and a 10-day solids retention time (SRT) was simulated for treatment of anaerobic digester sidestream. The full-scale PSBR could achieve >90% ammonia removal, significantly reducing the nitrogen load to the mainstream wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The dynamic simulation showed that ABSNR process can help wastewater treatment facilities meet stringent nitrogen removal standards with low energy inputs.

ABSTRACT

The dichloromethane fraction of Kadsura heteroclita roots was separated and purified by chromatographic techniques(e.g., silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, ODS, MCI column chromatography) and semi-preparative HPLC. Twenty compounds were isolated from K. heteroclita, and their structures were identified by NMR, MS, UV, and X-ray single crystal diffraction techniques. Twenty compounds were isolated from K. heteroclita, which were identified as xuetongdilactone G(1), mallomacrostin C(2), 3,4-seco(24Z)-cychmrt-4(28),24-diene-3,26-dioic acid 3-methyl ester(3), nigranoic acid(4), methyl ester schizanlactone E(5), schisandronic acid(6), heteroclic acid(7), wogonin(8),(2R,3R)-4'-O-methyldihydroquercetin(9), 15,16-bisnor-13-oxo-8(17),11E-labdadien-19-oic acid(10), stigmast-4-ene-6ß-ol-3-one(11), psoralen(12),(1R,2R,4R)-trihydroxy-p-menthane(13), homovanillyl alcohol(14), 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-ethanol(15), coniferaldehyde(16),(E)-7-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-7-methylbut-8-en-9-one(17), acetovanillone(18), vanillic acid(19) and vanillin(20). Compound 1 is a new compound named xuetongdilactone G. Compounds 2-3 and 8-20 are isolated from K. heteroclita for the first time.
