ABSTRACT

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, it became urgent to deal with the relationship between the prevention and control of the epidemic and the resumption of work and production. The purpose of this study is to observe and describe which approach seemed more important for the Chinese government and people, and how this trend evolved through time. To this end, a game model of resuming production and preventing the epidemic is constructed, using the evolutionary stable strategy (ESS). By combing China's measures on epidemic prevention and resuming production during critical periods of epidemic outbreak, it is clarified that the present stage is considered a period of equal emphasis on both epidemic prevention and resuming production. Based on the dynamic between these two strategies and further theoretical research, present policies should equally focus on both preventive and controlling measures as well as on the socioeconomic development for most countries in the world.

ABSTRACT

In recent years, red beetroot has received a growing interest due to its abundant source of bioactive compounds, particularly betalains. Red beetroot betalains have great potential as a functional food ingredient employed in the food and medical industry due to their diverse health-promoting effects. Betalains from red beetroot are natural pigments, which mainly include either yellow-orange betaxanthins or red-violet betacyanins. However, betalains are quite sensitive toward heat, pH, light, and oxygen, which leads to the poor stability during processing and storage. Therefore, it is necessary to comprehend the impacts of the processing approaches on betalains. In this review, the effective extraction and processing methods of betalains from red beetroot were emphatically reviewed. Furthermore, a variety of recently reported bioactivities of beetroot betalains were also summarized. The present work can provide a comprehensive review on both conventional and innovative extraction techniques, processing methods, and the stability of betalains.

ABSTRACT

The tripole vector antenna comprises three orthogonal dipole antennas, so it could completely capture all the electric field of the incident electromagnetic (EM) wave. Then, the electric field information could be used to estimate the direction of arrival (DOA) of the EM wave if two conditions are satisfied. One is that there exists only one single EM wave in space. The other is that the EM wave is elliptically or circularly polarized. The new estimation method obtains two snapshot vectors through the output of a tripole antenna and computes their cross-product vector. Furthermore, the direction of the cross-product vector is used to estimate the DOA of the EM wave directly. We analyze the statistical characteristics of the DOA estimation error to prove that the new scheme is an asymptotic unbiased estimation. Furthermore, unlike the existing Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC)-based algorithms, the proposed approach only need one tripole vector antenna instead of an antenna array. Meanwhile, the new method also outperforms existing MUSIC-based algorithms in the term of computational complexity. Finally, the performance and advantages of the proposed method are verified by numerical simulations.

ABSTRACT

Airfoil tip vortex formation noise is a significant noise source in many aerodynamic applications such as aircraft, fans, rotors and propellers. The data collection presented in this paper examines the effects of sinusoidal geometry and porosity on the tip vortex formation noise produced by finite length airfoils. The use of serrated and porous materials is inspired by silent owl-wings and is a promising approach to control flow-induced noise. Noise measurements have been taken using a 47-channel planar microphone array in the anechoic wind tunnel at the Brandenburg University of Technology. Over 2600 unique test cases with variations in sinusoidal tip geometry (amplitude and wavelength) and flat tip porosity were measured during the experimental campaign for a NACA0012 and NACA614 airfoil. The microphone data have been processed using acoustic beamforming software named Acoular to produce one-third-octave band tip noise spectra.

ABSTRACT

The vortex generated at the tip of an airfoil such as an aircraft wing, wind turbine blade, submarine fin or propeller blade can dominate its wake and be a significant source of unwanted noise. The data collection presented in this paper consists of measurements of tip vortex formation noise produced by finite length airfoils with flat and rounded tips. These data were obtained using the specialist aeroacoustic test facilities at the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) in Cottbus, Germany and a 47-channel planar microphone array. Over 1200 unique test cases with variations in airfoil profile shape, tip geometry, angle of attack and Reynolds number were measured during the experimental campaign. The dataset contains one-third-octave band tip noise spectra that have been processed using Acoular, a Python module for acoustic beamforming.
