ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The effect of time from stroke onset to thrombectomy in the extended time window remains poorly characterized. AIM: We aimed to analyze the relationship between time to treatment and clinical outcomes in the early versus extended time windows. METHODS: Proximal anterior circulation occlusion patients from a multicentric prospective registry were categorized into early (≤6 h) or extended (>6-24 h) treatment window. Patients with baseline National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) ≥ 10 and intracranial internal carotid artery or middle cerebral artery-M1-segment occlusion and pre-morbid modified Rankin scale (mRS) 0-1 ("DAWN-like" cohort) served as the population for the primary analysis. The relationship between time to treatment and 90-day mRS, analyzed in ordinal (mRS shift) and dichotomized (good outcome, mRS 0-2) fashion, was compared within and across the extended and early windows. RESULTS: A total of 1603 out of 2008 patients qualified. Despite longer time to treatment (9[7-13.9] vs. 3.4[2.5-4.3] h, p < 0.001), extended-window patients (n = 257) had similar rates of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH; 0.8% vs. 1.7%, p = 0.293) and 90-day-mortality (10.5% vs. 9.6%, p = 0.714) with only slightly lower rates of 90-day good outcomes (50.4% vs. 57.6%, p = 0.047) versus early-window patients (n = 709). Time to treatment was associated with 90-day disability in both ordinal (adjusted odd ratio (aOR), ≥ 1-point mRS shift: 0.75; 95%CI [0.66-0.86], p < 0.001) and dichotomized (aOR, mRS 0-2: 0.73; 95%CI [0.62-0.86], p < 0.001) analyses in the early- but not in the extended-window (aOR, mRS shift: 0.96; 95%CI [0.90-1.02], p = 0.15; aOR, mRS0-2: 0.97; 95%CI [0.90-1.04], p = 0.41). Early-window patients had significantly lower 90-day functional disability (aOR, mRS shift: 1.533; 95%CI [1.138-2.065], p = 0.005) and a trend towards higher rates of good outcomes (aOR, mRS 0-2: 1.391; 95%CI [0.972-1.990], p = 0.071). CONCLUSIONS: The impact of time to thrombectomy on outcomes appears to be time dependent with a steep influence in the early followed by a less significant plateau in the extended window. However, every effort should be made to shorten treatment times regardless of ischemia duration.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The clinical efficacy of mechanical thrombectomy has been unequivocally demonstrated in multiple randomized clinical trials. However, these studies were performed in carefully selected centers and utilized strict inclusion criteria. AIM: We aimed to assess the clinical effectiveness of mechanical thrombectomy in a prospective registry. METHODS: A total of 2008 patients from 76 sites across 12 countries were enrolled in a prospective open-label mechanical thrombectomy registry. Patients were categorized into the corresponding cohorts of the SWIFT-Prime, DAWN, and DEFUSE 3 trials according to the basic demographic and clinical criteria without considering specific parenchymal imaging findings. Baseline and outcome variables were compared across the corresponding groups. RESULTS: As compared to the treated patients in the actual trials, registry-derived patients tended to be younger and had lower baseline ASPECTS. In addition, time to treatment was earlier and the use of intravenous tissue plasminogen activator (IV-tPA) and general anesthesia were higher in DAWN- and DEFUSE-3 registry derived patients versus their corresponding trials. Reperfusion rates were higher in the registry patients. The rates of 90-day good outcome (mRS0-2) in registry-derived patients were comparable to those of the patients treated in the corresponding randomized clinical trials (SWIFT-Prime, 64.5% vs. 60.2%; DAWN, 50.4% vs. 48.6%; Beyond-DAWN: 52.4% vs. 48.6%; DEFUSE 3, 52% vs. 44.6%, respectively; all P > 0.05). Registry-derived patients had significant less disability than the corresponding randomized clinical trial controls (ordinal modified Rankin Scale (mRS) shift odds ratio (OR), P < 0.05 for all). CONCLUSION: Our study provides favorable generalizability data for the safety and efficacy of thrombectomy in the "real-world" setting and supports that patients may be safely treated outside the constraints of randomized clinical trials.

ABSTRACT

The orbital frontal cortex (OFC) has long been linked to goal-directed, flexible behaviors. Recent evidence suggests the OFC plays key roles in representing the abstracted structure of task spaces, and using this representation for flexible inferences during both learning and choice. Here, we review convergent evidence from studies in animal models and humans in support of this view. We begin by considering early accounts of OFC function, then discuss how more recent evidence supports theories that have re-cast OFC's function as representing the structure of a task or environment for flexible inference. Finally, we turn to neural recording studies that provide insights into the underlying representations and computations the OFC may implement in coordination with other brain areas. ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Advanced imaging has been increasingly used for patient selection in endovascular stroke therapy. The impact of imaging selection modality on endovascular stroke therapy clinical outcomes in extended time window remains to be defined. We aimed to study this relationship and compare it to that noted in early-treated patients. METHODS: Patients from a prospective multicentric registry (n=2008) with occlusions involving the intracranial internal carotid or the M1- or M2-segments of the middle cerebral arteries, premorbid modified Rankin Scale score 0 to 2 and time to treatment 0 to 24 hours were categorized according to treatment times within the early (0-6 hour) or extended (6-24 hour) window as well as imaging modality with noncontrast computed tomography (NCCT)±CT angiography (CTA) or NCCT±CTA and CT perfusion (CTP). The association between imaging modality and 90-day modified Rankin Scale, analyzed in ordinal (modified Rankin Scale shift) and dichotomized (functional independence, modified Rankin Scale score 0-2) manner, was evaluated and compared within and across the extended and early windows. RESULTS: In the early window, 332 patients were selected with NCCT±CTA alone while 373 also underwent CTP. After adjusting for identifiable confounders, there were no significant differences in terms of 90-day functional disability (ordinal shift: adjusted odd ratio [aOR], 0.936 [95% CI, 0.709-1.238], P=0.644) or independence (aOR, 1.178 [95% CI, 0.833-1.666], P=0.355) across the CTP and NCCT±CTA groups. In the extended window, 67 patients were selected with NCCT±CTA alone while 180 also underwent CTP. No significant differences in 90-day functional disability (aOR, 0.983 [95% CI, 0.81-1.662], P=0.949) or independence (aOR, 0.640 [95% CI, 0.318-1.289], P=0.212) were seen across the CTP and NCCT±CTA groups. There was no interaction between the treatment time window (0-6 versus 6-24 hours) and CT selection modality (CTP versus NCCT±CTA) in terms of functional disability at 90 days (P=0.45). CONCLUSIONS: CTP acquisition was not associated with better outcomes in patients treated in the early or extended time windows. While confirmatory data is needed, our data suggests that extended window endovascular stroke therapy may remain beneficial even in the absence of advanced imaging.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Acne is a common, economically burdensome condition that can cause psychological harm and, potentially, scarring. Topical benzoyl peroxide (BPO) is a widely used acne treatment; however, its efficacy and safety have not been clearly evaluated. OBJECTIVES: To assess the effects of BPO for acne. SEARCH METHODS: We searched the following databases up to February 2019: the Cochrane Skin Specialised Register, CENTRAL, MEDLINE, Embase, and LILACS. We also searched five trials registers and checked the reference lists of relevant randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and systematic reviews. SELECTION CRITERIA: We included RCTs that compared topical BPO used alone (including different formulations and concentrations of BPO) or as part of combination treatment against placebo, no treatment, or other active topical medications for clinically diagnosed acne (used alone or in combination with other topical drugs not containing BPO) on the face or trunk. DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS: We used standard methodological procedures as expected by Cochrane. Primary outcome measures were 'participant global self-assessment of acne improvement' and 'withdrawal due to adverse events in the whole course of a trial'. 'Percentage of participants experiencing any adverse event in the whole course of a trial' was a key secondary outcome. MAIN RESULTS: We included 120 trials (29,592 participants randomised in 116 trials; in four trials the number of randomised participants was unclear). Ninety-one studies included males and females. When reported, 72 trials included participants with mild to moderate acne, 26 included participants with severe acne, and the mean age of participants ranged from 18 to 30 years. Our included trials assessed BPO as monotherapy, as add-on treatment, or combined with other active treatments, as well as BPO of different concentrations and BPO delivered through different vehicles. Comparators included different concentrations or formulations of BPO, placebo, no treatment, or other active treatments given alone or combined. Treatment duration in 80 trials was longer than eight weeks and was only up to 12 weeks in 108 trials. Industry funded 50 trials; 63 trials did not report funding. We commonly found high or unclear risk of performance, detection, or attrition bias. Trial setting was under-reported but included hospitals, medical centres/departments, clinics, general practices, and student health centres. We reported on outcomes assessed at the end of treatment, and we classified treatment periods as short-term (two to four weeks), medium-term (five to eight weeks), or long-term (longer than eight weeks). For 'participant-reported acne improvement', BPO may be more effective than placebo or no treatment (risk ratio (RR) 1.27, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.12 to 1.45; 3 RCTs; 2234 participants; treatment for 10 to 12 weeks; low-certainty evidence). Based on low-certainty evidence, there may be little to no difference between BPO and adapalene (RR 0.99, 95% CI 0.90 to 1.10; 5 RCTs; 1472 participants; treatment for 11 to 12 weeks) or between BPO and clindamycin (RR 0.95, 95% CI 0.68 to 1.34; 1 RCT; 240 participants; treatment for 10 weeks) (outcome not reported for BPO versus erythromycin or salicylic acid). For 'withdrawal due to adverse effects', risk of treatment discontinuation may be higher with BPO compared with placebo or no treatment (RR 2.13, 95% CI 1.55 to 2.93; 24 RCTs; 13,744 participants; treatment for 10 to 12 weeks; low-certainty evidence); the most common causes of withdrawal were erythema, pruritus, and skin burning. Only very low-certainty evidence was available for the following comparisons: BPO versus adapalene (RR 1.85, 95% CI 0.94 to 3.64; 11 RCTs; 3295 participants; treatment for 11 to 24 weeks; causes of withdrawal not clear), BPO versus clindamycin (RR 1.93, 95% CI 0.90 to 4.11; 8 RCTs; 3330 participants; treatment for 10 to 12 weeks; causes of withdrawal included local hypersensitivity, pruritus, erythema, face oedema, rash, and skin burning), erythromycin (RR 1.00, 95% CI 0.07 to 15.26; 1 RCT; 60 participants; treatment for 8 weeks; withdrawal due to dermatitis), and salicylic acid (no participants had adverse event-related withdrawal; 1 RCT; 59 participants; treatment for 12 weeks). There may be little to no difference between these groups in terms of withdrawal; however, we are unsure of the results because the evidence is of very low certainty. For 'proportion of participants experiencing any adverse event', very low-certainty evidence leaves us uncertain about whether BPO increased adverse events when compared with placebo or no treatment (RR 1.40, 95% CI 1.15 to 1.70; 21 RCTs; 11,028 participants; treatment for 10 to 12 weeks), with adapalene (RR 0.71, 95% CI 0.50 to 1.00; 7 RCTs; 2120 participants; treatment for 11 to 24 weeks), with erythromycin (no participants reported any adverse events; 1 RCT; 89 participants; treatment for 10 weeks), or with salicylic acid (RR 4.77, 95% CI 0.24 to 93.67; 1 RCT; 41 participants; treatment for 6 weeks). Moderate-certainty evidence shows that the risk of adverse events may be increased for BPO versus clindamycin (RR 1.24, 95% CI 0.97 to 1.58; 6 RCTs; 3018 participants; treatment for 10 to 12 weeks); however, the 95% CI indicates that BPO might make little to no difference. Most reported adverse events were mild to moderate, and local dryness, irritation, dermatitis, erythema, application site pain, and pruritus were the most common. AUTHORS' CONCLUSIONS: Current evidence suggests that BPO as monotherapy or add-on treatment may be more effective than placebo or no treatment for improving acne, and there may be little to no difference between BPO and either adapalene or clindamycin. Our key efficacy evidence is based on participant self-assessment; trials of BPO versus erythromycin or salicylic acid did not report this outcome. For adverse effects, the evidence is very uncertain regarding BPO compared with adapalene, erythromycin, or salicylic acid. However, risk of treatment discontinuation may be higher with BPO compared with placebo or no treatment. Withdrawal may be linked to tolerability rather than to safety. Risk of mild to moderate adverse events may be higher with BPO compared with clindamycin. Further trials should assess the comparative effects of different preparations or concentrations of BPO and combination BPO versus monotherapy. These trials should fully assess and report adverse effects and patient-reported outcomes measured on a standardised scale.

ABSTRACT

Biochar (BC)-supported nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI-BC) was investigated as a heterogeneous Fenton-like activator to degrade the antibiotic ornidazole (ONZ). The characterization of nZVI-BC indicated that BC could enhance the adsorption of ONZ and reduce the aggregation of nZVI. Thus, nZVI-BC had a higher removal efficiency (80.1%) than nZVI and BC. The effects of parameters such as the nZVI/BC mass ratio, pH, H2O2 concentration, nZVI-BC dose, and temperature were systematically investigated, and the removal of ONZ followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Finally, possible pathways of ONZ in the oxidation process were proposed. The removal mechanism included the adsorption of ONZ onto the surface of nZVI-BC, the generation of •OH by the reaction of nZVI with H2O2, and the oxidation of ONZ. Recycling experiments indicated that the nZVI-BC/H2O2 system is a promising alternative for the treatment of wastewater containing ONZ.

ABSTRACT

Background and Purpose- It is unknown whether the benefit of thrombectomy in late presenting acute stroke patients with imaging evidence of clinical-infarct mismatch is different in patients presenting with wake-up stroke compared with those presenting with witnessed onset or unwitnessed onset. Methods- Prespecified secondary analysis was performed from DAWN (Diffusion Weighted Imaging [DWI] or Computerized Tomography Perfusion [CTP] Assessment With Clinical Mismatch in the Triage of Wake Up and Late Presenting Strokes Undergoing Neurointervention), a multicenter, prospective, randomized clinical trial with blinded end point assessment comparing thrombectomy with the Trevo device against standard medical therapy in patients with acute stroke and clinical-infarct mismatch presenting 6 to 24 hour after the time last seen well. For the purposes of this study, the primary outcome was the proportion of modified Rankin Scale score 0 to 2 at 90 days. Univariable analysis and multivariable logistic regression was used to assess the relationship between outcome and mode of onset. Results- All 206 enrolled patients were included in the study. Mode of onset was: wake-up stroke (55.3%, n=114), witnessed onset (12.1%, n=25), and unwitnessed onset (32.5%, n=67) with median time last seen well to randomization (13.4±3.7, 10.0±3.7, 14.1±4.9 hours) respectively. Rates of 90-day modified Rankin Scale score of 0 to 2 and symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage in the thrombectomy arm were not statistically different across patient onset subtypes (P=0.79 and P=0.40, respectively). The benefit of thrombectomy compared with best medical therapy was maintained across all 3 onset modes (rates of 90-day modified Rankin Scale score of 0 to 2 in patients allocated to thrombectomy versus control: wake-up stroke-49.3% versus 10.6%, witnessed onset-63.6% versus 21.4%, UW-41.4% versus 13.2%; P×interaction=0.79). In univariable and multivariable analyses, mode of onset was not identified as a significant predictor of modified Rankin Scale score 0 to 2 at 90 days. Conclusions- In patients with acute ischemic stroke presenting between 6 and 24 hours from time last seen well and harboring clinical-infarct mismatch, the benefit of thrombectomy was similar regardless of the wake-up, unwitnessed, or witnessed mode of onset.

Background and Purpose- The impact of transfer status on clinical outcomes in the DAWN (DWI or CTP Assessment With Clinical Mismatch in the Triage of Wake-Up and Late Presenting Strokes Undergoing Neurointervention With Trevo) population is unknown. We analyzed workflow and clinical outcome differences between direct versus transfer patients in the DAWN population. Methods- The following time metrics were analyzed for each group: (1) last known well to hospital arrival, (2) hospital arrival to eligibility imaging, (3) hospital arrival to arterial puncture, (4) qualifying imaging to arterial puncture, (5) last known well to arterial puncture, (6) last known well to reperfusion. The primary end point was the rate of functional independence (90-day modified Rankin Scale [mRS] score, 0-2). Using univariate unconditional logistic regression, we calculated odds ratios and 95% CIs for the association between clinically relevant time metrics, transfer status, and functional independence (mRS 0-2). Results- A total of 206 patients were enrolled. Among these, 121 (59%) patients were transferred, and 85 (41%) patients presented directly to a thrombectomy capable center. Median time last seen well to hospital arrival time was similar between the 2 groups (678 versus 696 minutes). The time from hospital arrival to groin puncture was significantly longer in direct patients compared with transferred patients 140 minutes (interquartile range, 105.5-177.5 minutes) and 88 minutes (interquartile range, 55-125 minutes), respectively (P<0.001). Differences in treatment effect or differences in rates of mRS 0-2 in the thrombectomy treated patients were not statistically significant in direct versus transfer patients (odds ratios for mRS 0-2, thrombectomy versus control, were 5.62 in direct and 6.63 in transfer patients, respectively, Breslow-Day P=0.817). Conclusions- Although transfer patients had a faster door to puncture time, benefits of thrombectomy, and rates of mRS 0 to 2 in the treatment group were similar between direct and transferred patients in the DAWN population. These results may inform prehospital and primary stroke centers triage protocols in patients presenting in the late time window. Clinical Trial Registration- URL: https://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Background and Purpose- It is unknown whether noncontrast computed tomography (NCCT) can identify patients who will benefit from intra-arterial treatment (IAT) in the extended time window. We sought to characterize baseline Alberta Stroke Program Early CT Score (ASPECTS) in DAWN (DWI or CTP Assessment With Clinical Mismatch in the Triage of Wake-Up and Late Presenting Strokes Undergoing Neurointervention With Trevo) and to assess whether ASPECTS modified IAT effect. Methods- Core lab adjudicated ASPECTS scores were analyzed. The trial cohort was divided into 2 groups by qualifying imaging (computed tomography versus magnetic resonance imaging). ASPECTS-by-treatment interaction was tested for the trial coprimary end points (90-day utility-weighted modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score and mRS, 0-2), mRS 0 to 3, and ordinal mRS. ASPECTS was evaluated separately as an ordinal and a dichotomized (0-6 versus 7-10) variable. Results- Of 205 DAWN subjects, 123 (60%) had NCCT ASPECTS, and 82 (40%) had diffusion weighted imaging ASPECTS. There was a significant ordinal NCCT ASPECTS-by-treatment interaction for 90-day utility-weighted mRS (interaction P=0.04) and mRS 0 to 2 (interaction P=0.02). For both end points, IAT effect was more pronounced at higher NCCT ASPECTS. The dichotomized NCCT ASPECTS-by-treatment interaction was significant only for mRS 0 to 2 (interaction P=0.04), where greater treatment benefit was seen in the ASPECTS 7 to 10 group (odds ratio, 7.50 [2.71-20.77] versus odds ratio, 0.48 [0.04-5.40]). A bidirectional treatment effect was observed in the NCCT ASPECTS 0 to 6 group, with treatment associated with not only more mRS 0 to 3 outcomes (50% versus 25%) but also more mRS 5 to 6 outcomes (40% versus 25%). There was no significant modification of IAT effect by diffusion weighted imaging ASPECTS. Conclusions- Baseline NCCT ASPECTS appears to modify IAT effect in DAWN. Higher NCCT ASPECTS was associated with greater benefit from IAT. No treatment interaction was observed for diffusion weighted imaging ASPECTS.

ABSTRACT

Degradation of ornidazole (ONZ) by nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) particles was investigated for the first time in this work. The results showed that ONZ was almost completely degraded within 30 min by 0.1 g L-1 nZVI at pH 5.8 and 25 °C. The effects of the nZVI dose, initial ONZ concentration, pH, and temperature on ONZ removal were systematically investigated, and removal of ONZ was followed by a pseudo-first-order kinetics model. Experimental results demonstrated that higher nZVI doses, lower initial ONZ concentrations, and lower pH levels could increase the pseudo-first-order rate constant (k obs) of ONZ removal. While higher temperatures favored removal, the activation energy results suggested that mass transfer was the limiting step during the removal process. The possible effect of oxygen was ruled out by introducing hydroxyl radical scavengers into the experiment. The variation of ONZ concentrations and total organic carbon (TOC) contents in the solution indicated that adsorption was not the main mechanism. The possibility that precipitation was the main mechanism was also excluded by the results for the change in pH and effect of pH. The characterization of nZVI before and after the reaction indicated that ONZ was reduced on the surface of nZVI, which was the main mechanism. Three intermediates and two final products were detected based on the results of UV-vis and high performance liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) analyses. Dechlorination, nitro reduction, N-denitration, and cleavage were all involved in the entire reaction process, and therefore a complicated potential degradation pathway was proposed.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common malignancy in the US. Body mass index (BMI) and height have been associated with a variety of cancer types, yet the evidence regarding BCC is limited. Therefore, we evaluated BMI and height in relation to early-onset BCC (under age 40) and explored the potential role of ultraviolet (UV) radiation exposure and estrogen-related exposures in the BMI-BCC relationship. METHODS: BCC cases (n=377) were identified through a central dermatopathology facility in Connecticut. Control subjects (n=389) with benign skin conditions were randomly sampled from the same database and frequency matched to cases on age (median=36, interquartile range 33-39), gender, and biopsy site. Participants reported weight (usual adult and at age 18), adult height, sociodemographic, phenotypic, and medical characteristics, and prior UV exposures. We calculated multivariate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) using unconditional logistic regression models. RESULTS: Adult BMI was inversely associated with early-onset BCC (obese vs. normal OR=0.43, 95% CI=0.26-0.71). A similar inverse association was present for BMI at age 18 (OR=0.54, 95% CI=0.34-0.85). Excluding UV exposures from the BMI models and including estrogen-related exposures among women only did not alter the association between BMI and BCC, indicating limited mediation or confounding. We did not observe an association between adult height and BCC (OR per cm=1.00, 95% CI=0.98-1.02). CONCLUSIONS: We found a significant inverse association between BMI and early-onset BCC, but no association between height and BCC. This association was not explained by UV exposures or estrogen-related exposures in women.

ABSTRACT

To compare the differences on current ethical issues in the areas of epidemiological practice between China and America, to identify the major ethical problems existing in the epidemiological studies in China. Through searching and reviewing papers published on Chinese Journal of Epidemiology and American Journal of Epidemiology from Jan. 2006 to Dec. 2010, we made a comparison on ethical issues involved in the original studies that focusing on human beings. In total, 749 Chinese articles and 1221 American articles were recruited, with the following findings: (1) The proportion with announcements of "Informed consent by the subjects" was 29.24% in Chinese literature and 38.08% in the Americans (χ² = 16.02, P < 0.001). The proportion with "having had approvals from the ethic committees" was 29.24% in Chinese, while 38.08% in American (χ² = 604.40, P < 0.0001). (2) Both in China and America, there had been an increase of ethical issues in the last 5 years. (3) Articles derived from trial studies had better involvement on ethics than those from observational studies. (4) The level on ethical issues in the American Research Institutes exceeded those in China (5) American studies also had showed better ideas on Ethic issues on biological specimens collection and privacy protection, than those in Chinese studies. Among the studies on Chinese Journal of Epidemiology, the proportion of 'informed consent' was higher than in ethical review, but both ethical review and awareness on 'informed consent' had left far behind than the American Journal of Epidemiology. This could be seen at the institution level of the writers, during specimen collection and privacy protection, as well as at the overall level. The results reminded us that the Departments of Technology Management should spend more efforts on the improvement of public education regarding ethics for researchers and to update the process of edition for Journals as well as to reinforce the rules of ethics in epidemiological research.

ABSTRACT

Since there are only very few Chinese medical literature in the Han and preceding dynasties extant, it is very difficult to investigate the origins of both the herbs and formulas in the book Shanghan Zabing Lun (Treatise on Cold Pathogenic and Miscellaneous Disease) and the status of that of the contemporary period. The Chinese medical bamboo slips of the Han dynasty unearthed from the tombs in Wuwei, Gansu Province in 1972, had been speculated by archeologists to be a medical literature written in the early period of the Eastern Han Dynasty, or, 150 years earlier than the time Zhang Zhongjing's book written at the end of the Eastern Han dynasty, Thus, it can provide evidence for the study on the source of herbs and formulas in Shanghan Zabing Lun.
