ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore the status and influencing factors of job burnout among psychiatric nurses and provide a reference for hospital managers to carry out occupational and psychological interventions. METHODS: Between September 2021 and September 2022, the psychiatric nurses in Wuhan Wudong Hospital (Wuhan Second Psychiatric Hospital) were selected as research participants using convenience sampling. The Chinese version of the nursing burnout scale was used to investigate the psychiatric nurses in the hospital, and a multiple linear regression analysis was performed on the factors affecting job burnout. RESULTS: Among the 121 psychiatric nurses, 57.85 % had no or only mild job burnout, 36.36 % had mild to moderate job burnout and 5.79 % had severe job burnout. The one-way analysis of variance indicated that there were statistical differences in the scores in terms of marital status, educational background, working years, income, work departments and shifts (p < 0.05). The multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the main influencing factors of job burnout were working years and work department (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The detection rate of nurses' job burnout in the featured psychiatric hospital was 42.10 %. The main influencing factors of job burnout were working years and work department, and targeted intervention can be carried out according to these two factors.

ABSTRACT

Intramolecular π-aromatization is a trait of many organic compounds that enhances the stability of their structures and polarizes related C-C π bonds. In contrast, rare study is focused on this phenomenon in metal clusters. Many existing homometallic clusters exhibit aromaticity, often characterized by nonpolar metal-metal bonds and a high degree of symmetry. However, synthesizing low-symmetric homometallic clusters with high-polar metal-metal bonds is challenging due to their limited thermodynamic stability. Herein, we report a facile strategy for the synthesis of [Au(µ2 -ER2 )]3 -AuPMe3 (E=Ge, Sn; R2 =1,1,4,4-tetrakis(trimethylsilyl)butane-1,4-diyl) clusters and reveal a novel stabilization mode, intramolecular σ-aromatization. Our electronic structure analyses show that these low-symmetric clusters possess a ten-electron σ-aromatic system, which is achieved via intramolecular σ-aromatization. Moreover, the strength of σ-aromaticity gives rise to a polarity-tunable exo-Au-Au bond.

ABSTRACT

Pseudostellaria heterophylla (Miq.) Pax is a well-known medicinal and ecologically important plant. Effectively distinguishing its different genetic resources is essential for its breeding. Plant chloroplast genomes can provide much more information than traditional molecular markers and provide higher-resolution genetic analyses to distinguish closely related planting materials. Here, seventeen P. heterophylla samples from Anhui, Fujian, Guizhou, Hebei, Hunan, Jiangsu, and Shandong provinces were collected, and a genome skimming strategy was employed to obtain their chloroplast genomes. The P. heterophylla chloroplast genomes ranged from 149,356 bp to 149,592 bp in length, and a total of 111 unique genes were annotated, including 77 protein-coding genes, 30 tRNA genes, and four rRNA genes. Codon usage analysis showed that leucine had the highest frequency, while UUU (encoding phenylalanine) and UGC (encoding cysteine) were identified as the most and least frequently used codons, respectively. A total of 75-84 SSRs, 16-21 short tandem repeats, and 27-32 long repeat structures were identified in these chloroplast genomes. Then, four primer pairs were revealed for identifying SSR polymorphisms. Palindromes are the dominant type, accounting for an average of 47.86% of all long repeat sequences. Gene orders were highly collinear, and IR regions were highly conserved. Genome alignment indicated that there were four intergenic regions (psaI-ycf4, ycf3-trnS, ndhC-trnV, and ndhI-ndhG) and three coding genes (ndhJ, ycf1, and rpl20) that were highly variable among different P. heterophylla samples. Moreover, 10 SNP/MNP sites with high polymorphism were selected for further study. Phylogenetic analysis showed that populations of Chinese were clustered into a monophyletic group, in which the non-flowering variety formed a separate subclade with high statistical support. In this study, the comparative analysis of complete chloroplast genomes revealed intraspecific variations in P. heterophylla and further supported the idea that chloroplast genomes could elucidate relatedness among closely related cultivation materials.

ABSTRACT

In Zherong county, Fujian province, the black spot of Pseudostellaria heterophylla often breaks out in the rainy season from April to June every year. As one of the main leaf diseases of P. heterophylla, black spot seriously affects the yield and quality of the medicinal material. To identify and characterize the pathogens causing black spot, we isolated the pathogens, identified them as a species of Alternaria according to Koch's postulates, and then tested their pathogenicity and biological characteristics. The results showed that the pathogens causing P. heterophylla black spot were A. gaisen, as evidenced by the similar colony morphology, spore characteristics, sporulation phenotype, and the same clade with A. gaisen on the phylogenetic tree(the maximum likelihood support rate of 100% and the Bayesian posterior probability of 1.00) built based on the tandem sequences of ITS, tef1, gapdh, endoPG, Alta1, OPA10-2, and KOG1077. The optimum conditions for mycelial growth of the pathogen were 25 ℃, pH 5-8, and 24 h dark culture. The lethal conditions for mycelia and spores were both treatment at 50 ℃ for 10 min. We reported for the first time the A. gaisen-caused black spot of P. heterophylla. The results could provide a theoretical basis for the diagnosis and control of P. heterophylla leaf spot diseases.

ABSTRACT

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: With the advantage of minimizing damage and preserving more functional lung tissue, limited surgery is considered depend on the lymph node (LN) involvement situation. However, occult lymph node metastasis (OLM) may be ignored by limited surgery and become a risk factor for local recurrence after surgical resection. The aim of this study was to assess the risk factors for OLM based on computed tomography enhanced image in patients with clinical lung adenocarcinoma (ADC). MATERIALS AND METHODS: From January 2016 to July 2022, 707 patients with clinical stage IA-IIA ADC underwent lobectomy with systematic LN dissection and were divided into training and validation group based on different institution. Univariate analysis followed by multivariable logistic regression were performed to estimate different risk factors of OLM. A predictive model was established with visual nomogram and external validation, and evaluated in terms of accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC). RESULTS: Fifty-nine patients were diagnosed with OLM (11.9%), and four independent predictors of LN involvement were identified: larger consolidation diameter (odds ratio [OR], 2.35, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.06, 5.22, p = 0.013), bronchovascular bundle thickening (OR, 1.99, 95% CI: 1.00, 3.95, p = 0.049), lobulation (OR, 2.92, 95% CI: 1.22, 6.99, p = 0.016) and obstructive change (OR, 1.69, 95% CI: 1.17, 6.16, p = 0.020). The model showed good calibration (Hosmer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit, p = 0.816) with an AUC of 0.821 (95% CI: 0.775, 0.853). For the validation group, the AUC was 0.788 (95% CI: 0.732, 0.806). CONCLUSION: Our predictive model can non-invasively assess the risk of OLM in patients with clinical stage IA-IIA ADC, enable surgeons perform an individualized prediction preoperatively, and assist the clinical decision-making procedure.

ABSTRACT

Conventional Few-shot classification (FSC) aims to recognize samples from novel classes given limited labeled data. Recently, domain generalization FSC (DG-FSC) has been proposed with the goal to recognize novel class samples from unseen domains. DG-FSC poses considerable challenges to many models due to the domain shift between base classes (used in training) and novel classes (encountered in evaluation). In this work, we make two novel contributions to tackle DG-FSC. Our first contribution is to propose Born-Again Network (BAN) episodic training and comprehensively investigate its effectiveness for DG-FSC. As a specific form of knowledge distillation, BAN has been shown to achieve improved generalization in conventional supervised classification with a closed-set setup. This improved generalization motivates us to study BAN for DG-FSC, and we show that BAN is promising to address the domain shift encountered in DG-FSC. Building on the encouraging findings, our second (major) contribution is to propose Few-Shot BAN (FS-BAN), a novel BAN approach for DG-FSC. Our proposed FS-BAN includes novel multi-task learning objectives: Mutual Regularization, Mismatched Teacher, and Meta-Control Temperature, each of these is specifically designed to overcome central and unique challenges in DG-FSC, namely overfitting and domain discrepancy. We analyze different design choices of these techniques. We conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative analysis and evaluation over six datasets and three baseline models. The results suggest that our proposed FS-BAN consistently improves the generalization performance of baseline models and achieves state-of-the-art accuracy for DG-FSC. ABSTRACT

Violet root rot is one of the main root diseases in the production process of Pseudostellaria heterophylla. To clarify the pathogenic species that cause the violet root rot of P. heterophylla in Fujian province, the roots and the sclerotia with violet root rot symptoms were collected from the main producing areas of P. heterophylla(Fujian province) from 2017 to 2021, and the pathogens were isolated by tissue separation method and identified by morphology and multi-gene phylogenetic analysis. Additionally, the biological characteristics of the pathogens were studied and the fungicides were determined. The results showed that 78 strains of violet root rot were isolated from the collected root samples, which belonged to one type after preliminary morphological identification. Two represen-tative strains were selected from the pathogens for multi-gene phylogenetic analysis, and they were clustered with Helicobasidium mompa together. The suitable culture conditions for the mycelium were OA medium, 25 ℃, pH 6, and ammonium oxalate as the nitrogen source. The lethal temperature of the mycelium was 50 ℃ for 10 minutes. Moreover, 99.1% propiconazole and 98.7% azoxystrobin had the optimal bacteriostatic effect, and the concentrations with the 50% bacteriostatic rate were 16.85 and 12.24 µg·mL~(-1), respectively. On the basis of the above results, the pathogen causing violet root rot of P. heterophylla in Fujian province was H. mompa. The medium type, growth temperature, pH value, nitrogen source, etc. had significant effect on the growth of mycelium.

ABSTRACT

Pholidota chinensis Lindl. is an epiphytic or lithophytic perennial herb of Orchidaceae family used as a garden flower or medicinal plant to treat high blood pressure, dizziness and headache in traditional Chinese medicine. Gastrodin (GAS) is considered as a main bioactive ingredient of this herb but the biosynthetic pathway remains unclear in P. chinensis. To elucidate the GAS biosynthesis and identify the related genes in P. chinensis, a comprehensive analysis of transcriptome and metabolome of roots, rhizomes, pseudobulbs and leaves were performed by using PacBio SMART, Illumina Hiseq and Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography Tandem Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS). A total of 1,156 metabolites were identified by UPLC-MS/MS, of which 345 differential metabolites were mainly enriched in phenylpropanoid/phenylalanine, flavone and flavonol biosynthesis. The pseudobulbs make up nearly half of the fresh weight of the whole plant, and the GAS content in the pseudobulbs was also the highest in four tissues. Up to 23,105 Unigenes were obtained and 22,029 transcripts were annotated in the transcriptome analysis. Compared to roots, 7,787, 8,376 and 9,146 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in rhizomes, pseudobulbs and leaves, respectively. And in total, 80 Unigenes encoding eight key enzymes for GAS biosynthesis, were identified. Particularly, glycosyltransferase, the key enzyme of the last step in the GAS biosynthetic pathway had 39 Unigenes candidates, of which, transcript28360/f2p0/1592, was putatively identified as the most likely candidate based on analysis of co-expression, phylogenetic analysis, and homologous searching. The metabolomics and transcriptomics of pseudobulbs versus roots showed that 8,376 DEGs and 345 DEMs had a substantial association based on the Pearson's correlation. This study notably enriched the metabolomic and transcriptomic data of P. chinensis, and it provides valuable information for GAS biosynthesis in the plant.

ABSTRACT

Liquid marbles (LMs) are widely used in the fields of microfluids, gas sensitivity equipment, and microreactors. However, the thermal stability of the encapsulated liquid poses difficulty to the high-temperature stability of LMs. In this study, polar phase-change materials (PCMs) with high melting points were used as the encapsulated liquid of LMs. According to the required temperature, suitable PCMs were selected as the core and encapsulated by hydrophobic SiO2 particles to form melt marbles (MMs). The types of PCMs used to prepare the MMs include erythritol, elemental sulfur, urea, and molten salts. Based on the premixed melting method, a series of MMs with high melting points and thermal stability were successfully developed. The highest acceptable temperature of the MMs exceeded 323 °C, and the evaporation rate of erythritol MMs was less than 1% at 140 °C in 8 h. Thus, the MMs maintained their excellent stability through multiple phase transitions. In the molten state, the MMs exhibited the properties of bounce ability, cuttability, and deformation resistance. The performance of the PCMs in energy storage and release during phase transition demonstrates their potential applications in the field of heat storage.

ABSTRACT

Neonicotinoid insecticides (NNIs) have been widely used to control insect pests, while their environmental residues and associated hazardous impacts on human and ecosystem health have attracted increasing attention worldwide. In this study, we examined the current levels and associated spatial and temporal patterns of NNIs in multiple environmental media across China. Concentrations of NNIs in surface water, sediment, and soil were in the range of 9.94-755 ng·L-1, 0.07-8.30 ng·g-1 DW, and 0.009-356 ng·g-1 DW, respectively. The high levels of NNIs in surface water, such as in Yangtze River (755 ng·L-1), North River (539 ng·L-1), Nandu River (519 ng·L-1), and Minjiang River (514 ng·L-1), were dominated by imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, and acetamiprid due to their extensive use. The levels of NNIs in sediments were relatively low, and the highest concentration (8.30 ng·g-1 DW) was observed in Dongguan ditch. Sediment-water exchange calculated from fugacity fraction indicated that NNIs in sediment can be released back into the water due to their high solubility and low KOW. Soils from agricultural zones contained the largest residual NNIs, with imidacloprid concentrations in cultivated soil reaching 119 ng·g-1 DW. The calculated leaching potential showed that clothianidin has the highest migration potential to deep soil or groundwater. The monitored data of NNIs presented a decreasing trend from 2016 to 2018, which might be caused by the implementation of relevant control policies for NNI applications. The high levels of NNIs mainly occurred in southern China due to frequent agricultural activities and warm and humid meteorological conditions. The results from this study improve our understanding of the pollution levels and environmental behavior of NNIs in different environmental media across China and provide new knowledge that is needed for making future control policies for NNIs production and application.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the effectiveness and clinical value of cholangiography in the diagnosis of bile duct stones in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods: 200 patients who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy in our hospital from January 2017 to January 2019 were randomly divided into research group and control group, with 100 cases in each group. The research group underwent choledochotomy and exploration with the help of choledochoscope, while the control group underwent cholangiography to diagnose bile duct stones. The cure rate, residual stone rate, complication rate, intraoperative bleeding, hospital stay and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results: in the control group, 9 cases were converted to laparotomy, 20 cases of common bile duct stones, 10 cases of bile duct injury and 6 cases of common bile duct variation. In the research group, there were 2 cases of conversion to laparotomy, 12 cases of common bile duct stones, 2 cases of bile duct injury and 4 cases of common bile duct variation. The cure rate of the researchgroup was higher than that of the control group, There was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). The residual amount of stones in the research group was lower than that in the control group, and there was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). The incidence of postoperative complications in the research group was lower than that in the control group, and there was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). The patient satisfaction in the research group was higher than that in the control group, and there was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). The intraoperative blood output of the research group was lower than that of the observation group, and there was significant difference between the two groups (P < 0.05). Conclusion: cholangiography is an effective method for the diagnosis of bile duct stones in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Clarifying the variation and anatomical structure of bile duct is helpful to improve the surgical cure rate, reduce the residual rate of postoperative stones and the incidence of complications, reduce the amount of intraoperative bleeding, shorten the hospital stay, and promote the postoperative rehabilitation of patients.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: There are still few studies on the clinical characteristics and related risk factors of schizophrenia patients with intestinal obstruction. Our aim is to explore the clinical characteristics and related risk factors of schizophrenia patients with intestinal obstruction. METHODS: This study focused on schizophrenia patients with intestinal obstruction who were hospitalized in the psychiatric department of a hospital in Wuhan from January 2007 to December 2020 as the main research object. We intend to retrospectively analyze the clinical characteristics and related risk factors of schizophrenia patients with intestinal obstruction. RESULTS: In the 1937 persons with schizophrenia included in this study, 97 patients were complicated with intestinal obstruction, and the incidence was 5.01%.The results of the study showed that patients with age ≥ 60 years old, visiting time ≥ 24 h, hospital stay ≥ 90 days, history of abdominal surgery, course of disease ≥ 5 years, male, and patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are prone to intestinal obstruction; Logistic multiple regression analysis showed that the related risk factors of schizophrenia patients with intestinal obstruction mainly included the patient's age, visiting time, length of hospital stay, history of abdominal surgery, course of disease and gender. CONCLUSION: The older the age, the longer the hospital stay, the longer the course of the disease, the history of previous surgery, and the male schizophrenia who do not see a doctor within 24 h of the onset, the risk of intestinal obstruction is higher, and it is easy to be misdiagnosed and even life-threatening.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: To retrospectively investigate whether radiological and clinicopathological characteristics were associated with the presence of stage IA-IIA lung adenocarcinoma in patients at high risk for a postoperative recurrence. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Three hundred twelve patients with biopsy-proven node-negative early-stage (IA-IIA) lung adenocarcinoma met the inclusion criteria for this study. Demographics data and histopathological findings were collected from medical records. Computed tomography (CT) performed approximately 1 month before surgery was manually scored using 23 CT descriptors. Univariate analyses were applied to demonstrate an association between clinicopathological and radiological features and 2-/5-year recurrences. Multivariate logistic regression was performed to assess the ability of radiological and clinicopathological features to discriminate low and high-risk factors for recurrence. A ROC curve was used to evaluate prediction performance. RESULTS: Univariate analysis revealed that the 2-year recurrence was associated with six radiological features and two clinicopathological features, while 5-year recurrence was associated with five radiological features and two clinicopathological features. A multivariate logistic regression model of combined clinicopathological and radiological features showed that stage IIA (OR = 2.87), solid texture (solid part > 50 %: OR = 4.81; solid part = 100 %: OR = 3.61), pleural attachment (OR = 3.97) and bronchovascular bundle thickening (OR = 2.16) were associated with the independent predictors of 2-year recurrence, and stage IIA (OR = 3.52), solid texture (solid part > 50 %: OR = 3.56; solid part = 100 %: OR = 2.44) and pleural attachment (OR = 4.57) were associated with 5-year recurrence. Combined radiological and clinicopathological features could be significant indicators of 2- and 5-year recurrences (AUC = 0.784 and AUC = 0.815, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: The combination of radiological and clinicopathological features has the potential to help predict postoperative recurrence in patients with stage IA-IIA lung adenocarcinomas and guide oncologists and patients whether to undergo additional treatment after surgery.
