ABSTRACT

The quality of Morindaofficinalis, which has been used as a Yang-tonic agent for a long time in China, can be evaluated. A double-development high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) method has been established to simultaneously analyze quality and quantity of seven inulin-type oligosaccharides (DP=3-9) in Morindaofficinalis. The chromatography was performed on a silica gel 60 plate with the 7:5:2:1 proportion (v/v) of n-butanol-isopropanol-water-acetic acid for the first and second developments, respectively. The bands were visualized by the reaction with aniline-diphenylamine-phosphoric acid solution and analyzed by densitometric TLC at 540 nm. Quantification of seven oligosaccharides was achieved by densitometry at 540 nm. The investigated standard sugar had good linearity (R2>0.99) within test ranges. The amounts of seven oligosaccharides were calculated by the relative correction factor (RCF). Therefore, the developed TLC method could be used for quality control of Morindaofficinalis.

ABSTRACT

Microbial biotransformation of acetyl-11-keto-boswellic acid by Cunninghamella elegans AS 3.1207 was carried out, and totally four transformed products were isolated. On the basis of the extensive spectral data, their structures were characterized as 7ß-hydroxy-11-keto-boswellic acid (1), 7ß,30-dihydroxy-11-keto-boswellic acid (2), 7ß,16α-dihydroxy-3-acetyl-11-keto-boswellic acid (3), and 7ß,15α,21ß-trihydroxy-3-acetyl-11-keto-boswellic acid (4), respectively. Among them, products 1 and 2 are the new compounds.

ABSTRACT

In the title mol-ecule, C(16)H(14)N(2)OS(2), the benzene ring and the benzo[d]thia-zole mean plane form a dihedral angle of 75.5 (1)°. The acetamide group is twisted by 47.7 (1)° from the attached benzene ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules related by translation along the a axis are linked into chains through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

ABSTRACT

In the title compound, C(11)H(10)N(3)O(4)S(+)·C(2)Cl(3)O(2) (-), the benzene ring forms an angle of 85.21 (13)° with the pyridinium ring. The nitro group is nearly coplanar with its attached benzene ring [dihedral angle = 3.68 (12)°]. In the crystal structure, strong N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the ion-pairs. The packing is further consolidated by weak C-H⋯O inter-ations.
