ABSTRACT

Owing to uncontrolled mining activities and lack of ecological protection measures, phosphate-mining wastelands are contaminated with the heavy metal Cd. In this study, Penicillium oxalicum strain ZP6, a Cd-resistant phosphate-solubilizing fungus, was used in combination with the fast-growing, high-biomass plant Brassica juncea L. to enhance Cd remediation in phosphate-mining wastelands. Further, the bioremediation mechanisms were explored and elucidated. In pot experiments, strain ZP6 and Brassica juncea L. alone were significantly effective in removing Cd from phosphate-mining wastelands; however, their combination was more effective, exhibiting a high removal rate of 88.75%. The presence of phosphorite powder increases soil-enzyme activity, promotes plant growth, and reduces the bioaccumulation and translocation factors. However, Cd-inhibited plant growth and chlorophyll content increased malondialdehyde accumulation, which was alleviated by inoculation with strain ZP6. The results from the study indicate that bioremediation using a combination of strain ZP6 and plants is a restoration strategy with appreciable potential to resolve Cd contamination in phosphate-mining wastelands.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Beijing initiated the nation's most comprehensive tobacco control program that adheres to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control. This study aimed to identify a set of indicators for the scoping of an Health Impact Assessment (HIA) to assess this policy. METHODS: This study used a modified Delphi process. It proposed a tobacco control health impact framework based on the Driving forces- Pressure- State- Exposure- Effect- Action model and the Determinants of Health Theory. After a review of current surveillance system and literature, a working group of 13 experts with multidisciplinary background was established to formulate indicator evaluation criteria and conduct indicator scoring. Each indicator was scored by experts according to four evaluation criteria chosen. Indicators that obtained a total score above 80% and with standard error less than 5 were selected as the final set of indicators. Kendall's coefficient of concordance was calculated. RESULTS: Twenty-three out of 36 indicators were selected. Smoking prevalence, mortality rate, hospital admission rate, tobacco consumption and hospital admission fees of smoking related diseases achieved more than 90% of total scores and ranked as the top five. Kendall's concordance coefficient was 0.218 for all indicators. For all model composition, Kendall's concordance coefficients were statistically significant. CONCLUSION: This study identified a set of twenty-three indicators for scoping of HIA of a comprehensive tobacco control policy in Beijing based on a tobacco control health impact conceptual framework. The set of indicators achieved high scores and statistically significant consistency and has great potential to promote the evaluation of tobacco control policy in a global city. Further study might use the set of indicators for HIA on tobacco control policy to analyze empirical data.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to analyse the policymaking process of Beijing tobacco control regulations based on a multiple streams framework to provide a reference for other cities, at the national level and for the international community to promote the development of tobacco control policy. Twenty-one documents related to tobacco control in Beijing were collected, nine informants were interviewed and the interview data were analysed by a thematic framework method. It was found that indicators, feedback and a focus event in the problem stream drew the attention of policymakers and the society for tobacco control. In 2011, Ying Songnian, a representative of the Beijing Municipal People's Congress, put forward tobacco control legislation, which was just in time for the legislative reform of the Congress. The proposal was studied by the Congress, and a strategy of 'social co-governance' was founded. In the political stream, the government actively promoted tobacco control and social organizations extensively participated in it. In 2013, the General Office of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the General Office of the State Council issued a notice on matters related to leading cadres taking the lead in banning smoking in public places, which opened a policy window for decision-makers who were hesitatant. The issue of tobacco control was successfully put on the policy agenda and contributed to the introduction of the Beijing Municipal Regulations on Smoking Control. Development of the factors in problem stream, policy stream and political stream promoted the setting up of the tobacco control policy agenda in Beijing. It is suggested that more cities should learn from the experience of Beijing, seize the opportunity of the ideological change of the ruling party, actively identify the problems, mobilize and advocate for representatives and introduce the concept of 'social co-governance' to promote tobacco control legislation.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Only a few studies have examined the effectiveness of tobacco control policies on respiratory conditions, and the results were less consistent. The 2015 Beijing tobacco control policy package incorporating all six components of MPOWER has been implemented since Jun 2015. The present study aimed to evaluate the impact of a comprehensive tobacco control policy package on hospital admissions for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Beijing, China. AIMS AND METHODS: An interrupted time-series study was conducted based on the hospital admission information for about 18 million residents, who were covered by the Beijing Medical Claim Data for Employees from January 2013 to June 2017. The average percentage change of COPD hospital admission rates and reductions in hospital admission numbers were estimated by segmented Poisson regression models. RESULTS: There were 54 040 COPD hospital admissions with a crude rate of 67.2 per 100 000 residents during the observational period. After the implementation of the policy package, the hospital admission rates of COPD were reduced by -14.7% (95%CI: -17.8%, -11.5%) immediately. The secular trend was slowed down by -3.0% (95% CI: -5.6%, -0.4%) annually. A total of 5 581 reductions in COPD hospital admissions were estimated during the 25 months post-law period, accounting for 17.5% (95% CI: 12.5%, 22.5%) of overall COPD hospital admissions. More reductions were shown in males and those aged over 65 years old. CONCLUSIONS: The results indicated significant protections against hospitalization of COPD after the 2015 Beijing comprehensive tobacco control policy package. The results provide support for public health benefits for respiratory conditions from WHO-recommended tobacco control measures. IMPLICATIONS: Only a few studies have examined the effectiveness of tobacco control policies on respiratory conditions, and the results were less consistent. Based on medical records for about 18 million residents, this study showed an association between comprehensive tobacco control policies and significant reductions of hospital admissions for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The results provide support for public health benefits for respiratory conditions from WHO-recommended tobacco control measures.

ABSTRACT

Industrial phosphate rock (PR) treatment has introduced lead (Pb) contamination into phosphate mining wasteland, causing serious contamination. Although bioremediation is considered an effective method and studies have investigated the bioimmobilization of Pb contamination in phosphate mining wasteland by phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB), the bioimmobilization mechanism remains unclear. In this study, a strain Citrobacter farmeri CFI-01 with phosphate-solubilizing and Pb-tolerant abilities was isolated from a phosphate mining wasteland. Liquid culture experiments showed that the maximum content of soluble phosphate and the percentage amount of Pb immobilized after 14 days were 351.5 mg/L and 98.18%, respectively, with a decrease in pH. Soil experiments showed that CFI-01 had reasonable bioimmobilization ability, and the percentage amount of Pb immobilized was increased by 7.790% and 22.18% in the groups inoculated with CFI-01, respectively, compared with that of the groups not inoculated with CFI-01. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses showed that the immobilization of Pb was also ascribed to changes in the functional groups (e.g., hydroxyl and carboxyl groups) and the formation of lead phosphate sediments. Finally, the results of the metagenomic analysis indicated that changes in the microbial community structure, enrichment of related functional abundances (e.g., metal metabolism, carbohydrate metabolism, and amino acid metabolism functions), and activation of functional genes (e.g., zntA, smtB, cadC, ATOX1, smtA, and ATX1) could help immobilize soil Pb contamination and explore the mechanism of bacterial bioimmobilization in Pb-contaminated soil. This study provides insights for exploring the immobilization mechanism of Pb contamination in phosphate mining wasteland using PSB, which has significance for further research.

INTRODUCTION: The use of e-cigarettes has become more common in China, but the research on e-cigarettes in China, while growing, is still limited. This study examined the characteristics and patterns of e-cigarette use, and analyzed the possible mediators between cigarette cessation intention and e-cigarette use in a Chinese smoking population. METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in mainland China. By convenience sampling method, the participants were recruited from 85 major commercial streets of several large cities in China. The study interviewers completed face-to-face interviews and uploaded the completed questionnaires into the online survey platform. The participants were contacted for clarification if any problems were detected. Logistic regression yielded adjusted odds ratios (ORs) for ever use of e-cigarettes. We further conducted a mediation analysis to estimate the effect of possible mediators. RESULTS: From July to August 2020, a total of 738 smokers were invited to participate in this study; 613 smokers were identified as eligible and 609 smokers were included in this analysis. Of them, 24 (3.94%) participants were currently using e-cigarettes, and 165 (27.09%) participants have ever used e-cigarettes. The participants with younger age were more likely to have ever used e-cigarettes, ranging from 37.5% in the 18-29 years age group to 6.5% in the 60-69 years age group. After controlling for demographic characteristics and nicotine dependence, the ever use of e-cigarettes was significantly associated with younger age, higher education level, higher monthly income, previous smoking cessation attempts and quitting intention. With the mediation analysis, the education level is confirmed as a mediating factor, and approximately 42.86% of the effects were mediated through the channel of higher socioeconomic status. CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study to examine the possible mediators between cigarette cessation intention and e-cigarette use in a Chinese smoking population. The findings revealed that high socioeconomic status, particularly higher education level, was a major mediating factor.

ABSTRACT

In recent years, with industrial pollution and the application of agricultural fertilizers with high cadmium (Cd) content, soil Cd pollution has become increasingly serious. A large amount of Cd is discharged into the environment, greatly endangering the stability of the ecological environment and human health. The use of microorganisms to induce Cd precipitation and mineralization is an important bioremediation method. Itis highly efficient, has a low cost, enables environmental protection, and convenient to operate. This article summarizes the pollution status, pollution source, biological toxicity and existing forms of Cd, as well as the biomineralization mechanism of microbial induced Cd(II) precipitation, mainly including microbial-induced carbonate precipitation, microbial-induced phosphate precipitation and microbial-induced sulfide precipitation. Factors affecting the bioremediation of Cd, such as pH, coexisting ions, and temperature, are introduced. Finally, the key points and difficulties of future microbe-induced Cd(II) biomineralization research are highlighted, providing a scientific basis and theoretical guidance for the application of microbe-induced Cd(II) immobilization in soil.

BACKGROUND: Although the Chinese government has introduced a series of regulations to promote tobacco-related health education in workplaces, their implementation has been far from satisfactory. The aim of the present study was to explore the association of company-level tobacco-related health education and employee smoking behaviour. METHODS: Data from the 2018 Asia Best Workplace Mainland China programme were used to address these aims. This was a cross-sectional study that included 14,195 employees from 79 companies in mainland China. Spearman correlation tests were used to examine unadjusted correlations between the study variables, and binary logistic regression was used for multivariable analysis. The dependent variables included smoking-related variables or health information-seeking behaviour. The explanatory variable was the company-level tobacco-related health education. RESULTS: Tobacco-related health education was associated with better smoking harm awareness (OR = 2.23; 95% CI = 1.94-2.56), lower second-hand smoke exposure (OR = 0.73; 95% CI = 0.66-0.81), better perception of the workplace environment (OR = 2.04; 95% CI = 1.84-2.26) and positive health information-seeking behaviour (OR = 2.07; 95% CI = 1.86-2.30). Job position interacted with health education, suggesting that the positive association of health education was lower for general employees than employees who held an administrative position. CONCLUSIONS: Tobacco-related health education is not only associated with lower SHS exposure but also related to more positive environmental perceptions and health attitudes, and these effects are significant for higher-ranking employees. Policy makers should recognize and reduce these potential health disparities.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: China has a high smoking prevalence, but lacks effective tobacco control interventions. In 2015, comprehensive policies that incorporated all six aspects of MPOWER were implemented in Beijing and were considered the strictest tobacco control policy implemented in China to date. Decreases in the prevalence of active smoking and secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure were observed thereafter. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of Beijing's 2015 tobacco control policy package on cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). DESIGN: Interrupted time-series study. SETTING: Beijing, China. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 17.7 million employees enrolled in Urban Employee Basic Medical Insurance (UEBMI) between January 2013 to June 2017. INTERVENTIONS: Beijing's 2015 comprehensive tobacco policy package, combining a complete ban on smoking in indoor public places, cessation support, more comprehensive bans on advertising, and tax rises. MEASUREMENTS: The main outcome was hospital admissions for all CVDs and five major cause-specific CVDs, including ischaemic heart disease (IHD), heart failure (HF), heart rhythm disturbances (HRDs), stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases (CBDs). The absolute number and proportion of reductions in the number of hospital admissions after the policies are reported. FINDINGS: A total of 419 875 hospital admissions for CVD were identified. In total, 13.4% [95% confidence interval (CI) = 11.5%, 15.3%] of hospital admissions for CVD were averted by the tobacco control policies. For major cause-specific CVDs, significant hospital admission reductions occurred for IHD (5.4%, 95% CI = 2.6%, 8.3%), stroke (21.2%, 95% CI = 17.8%, 24.6%) and other CBDs (25.9%, 95% CI = 20.8%, 31.0%), but not for HF (4.7%, 95% CI = -4.2%, 13.5%) or HRDs (4.7%, 95% CI = -2.9%, 12.3%). CONCLUSIONS: Beijing's 2015 tobacco control policy package appears to have been associated with a more than 10% reduction in all cardiovascular hospital admissions, including a more than 20% reduction in admissions for cerebrovascular diseases.

BACKGROUND: From 2010 to 2015, there was a twofold growth of new HIV/AIDS infection in Beijing among young students aged 15-24. HIV/AIDS education was found effective in promoting positive behavior change related to HIV/AIDS prevention. However, little evidence was found on the evaluation of HIV/AIDS education policy. This study aimed to evaluate the college-based HIV/AIDS education policy in Beijing. METHODS: By using a mixed method approach, the current study reviewed college-based HIV/AIDS education policy at national level and in Beijing from 1985 to 2016 and conducted policy content analysis to evaluate the policy ability to structure implementation. Cross-sectional surveys in 2006 and 2016 were used to evaluate college's implementation of relevant policies. T test, χ2 test, and logistic regression were used to analyze college students' perception of HIV/AIDS education provided in their colleges and their knowledge of HIV/AIDS and their risk factors. RESULTS: Fourteen pieces of national policy and four pieces of Beijing's policy were identified. Policy's ability to structure implementation was at moderate level. The percentage of students in Beijing who ever perceived HIV/ADIS education at colleges decreased from 71.14 to 39.80%, and the percentage of students with comprehensive knowledge of HIV/AIDS dropped from 50.00% in 2006 to 40.42% in 2016. CONCLUSIONS: HIV/AIDS education in college had drawn considerable attentions from the Chinese government, while the policy implementation needs further strengthening.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate a comprehensive tobacco control policy package on hospital admissions for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and stroke in a global city. DESIGN: Interrupted time series study. SETTING: Beijing, China. POPULATION: 31 707 AMI and 128 116 stroke hospital admissions recorded by the Beijing Medical Claim Data for Employees in 17.7 million residents from January 2013 to June 2017. INTERVENTION: The policy package including all components of MPOWER has been implemented since June 2015. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The immediate change of AMI and stroke hospital admissions and the annual change in the secular trend. RESULTS: There was a secular increase trend for the crude hospital admission rates of AMI and stroke during the observational period. After implementation of the policy, immediate reductions were observed in the hospital admissions for both AMI (-5.4%, 95% CI -10.0% to -0.5%) and stroke (-5.6%, 95% CI -7.8% to -3.3%). In addition, the secular increase trend for stroke was slowed down by -15.3% (95% CI -16.7% to -13.9%) annually. Compared with the hypothetical scenario where the policy had not taken place, an estimated 18 137 (26.7%) stroke hospital admissions had been averted during the 25 months of postpolicy period. CONCLUSIONS: The results indicated significant health benefits on cardiovascular morbidity after the Beijing tobacco control policy package, which highlighted the importance for a comprehensive tobacco control policy at the national level in China. Similar tobacco control policy which consists of all components of MPOWER is urgently needed in other areas, especially in settings with high tobacco consumption, to achieve greater public health gains.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Providing smoking cessation treatment is an important intervention for tuberculosis (TB) patients. Mobile technologies, such as smartphone applications, have shown promising potential. However, there are few effective applications that could support TB patients in their efforts to quit smoking. To address this problem, we will develop a smartphone application 'QinTB' to help TB patients quit smoking, and we will evaluate the clinical efficacy of this application by using a randomised controlled trial (RCT). METHODS AND ANALYSIS: This is a two-step study. In the first step, we will develop a smartphone application based on an interactive application of the transtheoretical model and protection motivation theory. Then, we will perform an RCT using a two-arm design; a total of 400 patients will be randomly assigned to the application group or the doctors' advice group; both treatments will be 6 months and follow-up will be 12 months; the primary outcome is the biochemically verified 6 month sustained abstinence rate; data will be analysed on an intention-to-treat basis. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Beijing Research Institute for Tuberculosis Control and Prevention. We will disseminate the findings of this study through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: This study was registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry (ChiCTR1900022008) and the stage is Pre-results.

INTRODUCTION: Implementing comprehensive smoke-free laws is an important part of tobacco control and has been promoted since China ratified the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) in 2005. This study shows the predictors of adopting subnational smoke-free laws and their alignment with Article 8 of WHO FCTC. METHODS: The legislations of 125 cities from China's top three city grades were assessed, covering the cities that have smoke-free laws. Logistic regression is applied to evaluate the characteristics of cities that adopted a smoke-free law. We also compare each smoke-free law with the WHO FCTC Article 8 requirements. RESULTS: Provincial capital cities were more likely to adopt smoke-free laws compared with other cities. Smoke-free laws vary from comprehensive to partial bans with major exemptions. Among the 21 cities that have enacted smoke-free laws, 9 cities prohibited smoking in all indoor workplaces, indoor public places (restaurants, bars, health facilities, government buildings and schools) and public transportation. More than half of the smoke-free laws still allow designated indoor smoking rooms. Smoke-free laws that clearly ban e-cigarettes in smoke-free areas have been implemented in only two cities (Nanning and Hangzhou). CONCLUSIONS: This study shows that a number of Chinese cities have taken legislative measures to protect people from exposure to tobacco smoke. It identifies signs of progress but also areas for improvement, such as the scope of smoke-free laws, imperfect implementation of such laws, and the potential omission of e-cigarettes from the legislation.

BACKGROUND: Globally, a growing number of children and adolescents are left behind when parents migrate. We investigated the effect of parental migration on the health of left behind-children and adolescents in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs). METHODS: For this systematic review and meta-analysis we searched MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL, the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, PsychINFO, Global Index Medicus, Scopus, and Popline from inception to April 27, 2017, without language restrictions, for observational studies investigating the effects of parental migration on nutrition, mental health, unintentional injuries, infectious disease, substance use, unprotected sex, early pregnancy, and abuse in left-behind children (aged 0-19 years) in LMICs. We excluded studies in which less than 50% of participants were aged 0-19 years, the mean or median age of participants was more than 19 years, fewer than 50% of parents had migrated for more than 6 months, or the mean or median duration of migration was less than 6 months. We screened studies using systematic review software and extracted summary estimates from published reports independently. The main outcomes were risk and prevalence of health outcomes, including nutrition (stunting, wasting, underweight, overweight and obesity, low birthweight, and anaemia), mental health (depressive disorder, anxiety disorder, conduct disorders, self-harm, and suicide), unintentional injuries, substance use, abuse, and infectious disease. We calculated pooled risk ratios (RRs) and standardised mean differences (SMDs) using random-effects models. This study is registered with PROSPERO, number CRD42017064871. FINDINGS: Our search identified 10 284 records, of which 111 studies were included for analysis, including a total of 264 967 children (n=106 167 left-behind children and adolescents; n=158 800 children and adolescents of non-migrant parents). 91 studies were done in China and focused on effects of internal labour migration. Compared with children of non-migrants, left-behind children had increased risk of depression and higher depression scores (RR 1·52 [95% CI 1·27-1·82]; SMD 0·16 [0·10-0·21]), anxiety (RR 1·85 [1·36-2·53]; SMD 0·18 [0·11-0·26]), suicidal ideation (RR 1·70 [1·28-2·26]), conduct disorder (SMD 0·16 [0·04-0·28]), substance use (RR 1·24 [1·00-1·52]), wasting (RR 1·13 [1·02-1·24]) and stunting (RR 1·12 [1·00-1·26]). No differences were identified between left-behind children and children of non-migrants for other nutrition outcomes, unintentional injury, abuse, or diarrhoea. No studies reported outcomes for other infectious diseases, self-harm, unprotected sex, or early pregnancy. Study quality varied across the included studies, with 43% of studies at high or unclear risk of bias across five or more domains. INTERPRETATION: Parental migration is detrimental to the health of left-behind children and adolescents, with no evidence of any benefit. Policy makers and health-care professionals need to take action to improve the health of these young people. FUNDING: Wellcome Trust.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Previous studies have provided inconsistent findings on smoking among migrants, and very limited data exist on their second-hand smoke exposure. This study aims to investigate internal migrants' smoking prevalence, second-hand smoke exposure among non-smokers, and knowledge of the health hazards of smoking in 12 major migrant provinces in China in 2013. METHODS: Data from the 2013 Migrant Dynamics Monitoring Survey in China published by the National Commission of Health and Family Planning was used in this study. Descriptive analysis, Chi-square analysis, and sex-stratified multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to explore the determinants of current smoking and second-hand smoke exposure. RESULTS: Among 7200 migrants, 34.1% (55% male, 4% female) were current smokers. For males, factors associated with current smoking were education year (aOR = 0.95, 95% CI: 0.93-0.98), duration of stay (aOR = 1.01, 95% CI: 1.00-1.03) and occupation (aOR = 1.25, 95% CI: 1.03-1.53). For females, household registration status (aOR = 1.70, 95% CI: 1.04-2.80) was the most important factor associated with current smoking. Sixty five percent of non-smokers were exposed to second-hand smoke. Factors associated with exposure to second-hand smoke were duration of stay (aOR = 1.01, 95% CI: 1.00-1.02), divorced/widowed marital status (aOR = 0.48, 95% CI: 0.25-0.91), occupation (aOR = 1.29, 95% CI: 1.05-1.58) and the nature of employer (aOR = 0.77, 95% CI: 0.60-0.97). About 95% of participants were aware that lung cancer is one of the hazards of smoking. Non-current smokers had a better knowledge of fertility reduction and accelerated aging as hazards of smoking than current smokers (p < 0.01). Knowledge of the impact of smoking on cardiovascular diseases was relatively low compared with knowledge of other smoking-related hazards (26.1-44.3%). CONCLUSIONS: Current smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke among internal migrants in China is high. Socio-demographic characteristics and migration status were strongly associated with current smoking and second-hand smoke exposure. We recommend specifically targeted tobacco control interventions to help to address these risk factors, such as focusing on divorced/widowed women.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To investigate health literacy and enterprise provided health service utilization among migrants in construction sites and explore the influencing factors of enterprise provided health service utilization. METHODS: All 652 migrants in 10 construction sites in Xi'an and Tongchuan were selected using stratified cluster sampling method, and health literacy level, occupational health awareness and enterprise provided health service utilization of migrants were investigated in 2013 April to June.Score and pass rate was used to describe status of health literacy and occupational health awareness of migrants. Chi-square was used to analyze the difference of occupational health awareness and enterprise provided health service utilization between migrants of different levels of health literacy. And logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of enterprise provided health service utilization. RESULTS: Average score of health literacy among migrants in construction site was (3.75 ± 2.17) (9 score totally). Migrants who knew enterprise should provide health training, physical examination, safety training, occupational protection and pay health insurance for workers accounted for 28.2% (174/616), 43.5% (268/616), 52.8% (325/616), 54.9% (338/616) and 37.7% (230/616) respectively, and the percentage of migrants who thought there were noise and dust in their working environment were 46.4% (201/627) and 44.8% (281/627) respectively.61.1% (373/610) received none of health training, occupational training, physical examination and first-aid kit, and only 0.8% (5/610) had utilized all of the above health service in workplace. And logistic regression showed that migrants whose health literacy score was higher than 5 had 1.819 times probability to utilize enterprise provided health service (OR = 1.82, 95%CI:1.13-2.92) , and migrants who were educated for more than 13 years had 3.812 times probability to utilize enterprise provided health service than those who were educated for less than 6 years (OR = 3.81, 95%CI:1.75-8.31) .However, occupational health awareness had no significant influence to the utility of enterprise provided health service utilization in logistic regression (χ(2) = 3.50, P = 0.061). CONCLUSION: Occupational health awareness and enterprise provided health service utilization were both low among migrants in construction site, level of health literacy and school years were the main factors that influence enterprise provided health service utilization.
