ABSTRACT

The authors report a new case of a Mullerian mixed tumor with malignant double composition with homologous tissue. They are uncommon, probably sometimes unrecognised. These tumors have the same clinical expression but their prognosis is linked to their benign or malignant composition. The treatment proposed by different authors is radical even for benign tumors in the fear of malignant evolution. The number of cases is not sufficient to propose a more economic treatment tested on patients.

ABSTRACT

Diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy is not easy. To show echography's value in extra-uterine pregnancy, the author studied 87 cases where the diagnosis was confirmed. The real diagnosis has been found in only 8 cases by echography. A great probability existed in 32 cases. 36 times, the diagnosis was suggested by echography, but it was refuted 11 times. Echography must be unassuming in the diagnosis of extra-uterine pregnancy.

ABSTRACT

There were 156 uterine ruptures collected out of 34,807 deliveries in the gynaecological and obstetrical department of the University Hospital of Averroes in Casablanca. This is a rate of 1 per 223 deliveries. The factors that predispose to this complication are low socio-economic status of the patients, multiparity and, above all, a scarred uterus. Surgical abnormalities of the pelvis and dystocia due to malpresentations and above all inappropriate manoeuvres which continue to be practised are all responsible for the condition. The rupture usually occurs in the lower segment. When the lesions are extensive the cervix and the bladder are most often damaged. Treatment should be as conservative as possible to maintain the woman's fertility but at the same time doing whatever is necessary for her.

ABSTRACT

We report 13 cases of iatrogenic injuries to the ureter assembled in the department of urology of Averroes hospital. All the cases resulted from gynecological and obstetric mishaps. The patients ranged in ages from 18 to 45 years. Clinical features consisted of permanent urinary incontinence through the vagina with persistence of normal micturition in the majority of our patients. Ureterohydronephrosis and uretero-vaginal fistulae were noted in the majority of our cases. All the uretero-vaginal fistulae were repaired, by different techniques with good results.

ABSTRACT

In Morocco 11.7% of couples are sterile. Even after 3 years the figure is as high as 6%. We have studied in this work 386 cases of tubal sterility which constitute 58.22% of 663 couples who were fully investigated. The mean age of the patients was 29 years. Patients come for assessment late-75% of them after 5 years of sterility. Most of these (54.15%) suffer from primary sterility due to infections acquired before marriage. One-third of all patients have been married more than once, having been divorced because of their sterility. Although tuberculosis is still very frequent in Morocco, not many of our cases were suffering from pelvic tuberculosis. 11% of the patients had had pelvic surgery.
