ABSTRACT

Corinfar-retard (CR) was tried in 146 patients, the acute test was performed in 26 cases. The findings confirm antihypertensive activity of the drug, reduced frequency of sharp changes in blood pressure and of hypertensive crises, side effects, its ability to diminish platelet aggregation. As for coronary heart disease. CR is more beneficial in non-severe angina of effort, spontaneous angina, associated hypertension. In hypertrophic cardiomyopathy prolonged administration of CR resulted in moderate subjective response. A CR two-month course did not induce noticeable changes in serum lipids. Hypertensive subjects on the acute test improved some hemodynamic and diastolic parameters.

ABSTRACT

A crystallization method was proposed to assess disturbances in the lipid system; it was based on the interaction of a serum lipid fraction with a lecithin matrix. A total of 255 invidividuals were examined. A model experiment was performed by using chemically pure cholesterol (96 samples) and 10 different cholesterol esters (240 samples). There were a great differences in the frequency of various pattern structural types (homogeneous texture, fan crystals) in the healthy persons and patients. The test results were found to be related to the ratio of esterified to non-esterified cholesterol in the serum lipid fraction. The application of rheopolyglucin, , hemosorption, quantum hemotherapy in the patients contributed to normalization of crystallization test indices.

ABSTRACT

The suggested questionnaire in ophthalmology consists of 24 questions of case history and complaints with consideration for age. It was tried with 101 patients. The study has shown that premedical interview helps single out subjects with normal eyes, who have some complaints and therefore should be consulted by an ophthalmologist, and patients with impaired refraction, who should be consulted by an optometrist of ophthalmoergonomist; these groups have made up 10.9, 41.5, and 47.6 percent of those interviewed.

ABSTRACT

To study the method of iridodiagnosis, clinical and iridoscopic examinations were conducted in 1104 patients and healthy persons, of them 516 men and 588 women, aged from 18 to 65 years. The contingent of the subjects represented 6 groups of patients with the most frequently observed pathology and a control group. The results obtained allow to consider that iridoscopy is indeed a sufficiently informative method for diagnostics of organ pathology without differentiation, in most of cases, between nosologic units, and achieves the highest effect in combination with detailed collected complaints and the anamnesis. The method can be used in prophylactic examinations of big contingents. The attempt to formalize iridoscopic data has shown that it is possible, in principle, to draw up a diagnostic algorithm, to describe it in one of programming languages and to work out an iridodiagnostic complex.

ABSTRACT

The level of catecholamines was determined in the lacrimal fluid since it may serve as an index of the activity of the sympatho-adrenal system. 86 persons aged between 35 and 65 years were studied. Of these, 49 were glaucoma patients, 16 patients had preglaucoma, and 21 practically healthy subjects served as a control. The results of the study showed that dopa and catecholamines: dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline can be determined in the lacrimal fluid of healthy people. Preglaucoma patients were found to have a reduced level of dopamine and its precursor dopa. Glaucoma patients were found to have reduced levels of dopa and noradrenaline. Determination of the level of catecholamine and dopa is considered to be an immediate index of the state of the sympathoadrenal system in the initial glaucoma. Determination of catecholamines and dopa in the lacrimal fluid can serve as a test in glaucoma diagnosis.
