ABSTRACT

Due to social and individual conditions and access to health services, Amazonian riverside populations are highly vulnerable to sexually transmitted infections, including Chlamydia trachomatis. The aim is to estimate the seroprevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis and analyze the associated factors among riverside dwellers in a capital city in the Brazilian Amazon. A cross-sectional study was carried out with residents of the Combu Island, Belém. The study sample was calculated using the population survey technique in the EPI INFO. Only people aged 18 and over were included. ELISA serology was performed to detect antibodies against Chlamydia trachomatis. For data collection, a form containing vulnerability factor questions was applied. Binary regression analysis was performed using the Minitab 20 program. The study sample consisted of 325 participants. The prevalence of IgG/IgM antibodies against Chlamydia trachomatis was 22.2% and 5.5%, respectively. In the multiple regression, only participants with a broken condom were more likely to have antibodies against the bacteria (OR: 1.90; 95% CI: 1.01; 3.37; p = 0.046). Seroprevalence was associated with condom breakage. This factor demonstrates that despite having an attitude towards condom use, probably, they may have inadequate knowledge about the correct practice of introduction.

ABSTRACT

We have witnessed the emergence of the viral agent of a new respiratory infection, the Sars-CoV-2, which surfaced in November 2019, leading to an epidemic in the province of Wuhan, China, and rapidly disseminating itself through the world, culminating in its recognition as a pandemic, declared in March 2020 by the World Health Organization. Considering this new setting, different strategies to preserve life were sought, considering the emergency that the pandemic represents. Consequently, there was a wide dissemination of information, knowledge, and structured intelligence about the pandemic in several means of communication and to various audiences, considering the contexts of prevention and control of the new disease in the health services. In this context, there was an intense production and publication of technologies aimed at offering support to the processes involved in the formation and activities of students, residents, and professionals of education in health. Furthermore, new forms of communication were used, to make interactions between different audiences possible and faster.

ABSTRACT

Objective:to report the development of Digital Communication and Information Technologies as a mediator in the process of training indigenous and quilombola students in Nursing. Method:experience report on the development of technologies in an extension project of a university in the North region. Used a social media repository and report. The time frame was from March 2020 to March 2021 carried out throughout the remote teaching modality. Thirty-eight posts were developed. Results:the project used technological resources to reduce the impacts of the pandemic on academic training and in this process two categories were identified for its implementation: use of technologies in the process of distribution and dissemination of information in the university extension; and technologies to implement affirmative policies in Nursing. Final considerations:technologies are mediators in the process of training in Nursing and in the implementation of the training of students coming from affirmative policies in academic spaces. These technological resources can provide, in a clear and objective way, the dissemination of knowledge to the community, in general, based on social transformation, and on themes of the health-disease process and daily life, in addition to reducing inequalities with traditional groups
