ABSTRACT
Aproximadamente la mitad de los tumores primarios de cerebro son neoplasias de la glia y más de tres cuartos de ellos son Astrocitoma, tanto Anaplásico como glioblastoma multiforme, siendo éste último tumor el más común, maligno e invasivo del sistema nervioso central. Caso clínico, paciente 38 años, sexo masculino, que presentó hace 12 meses cefalea tipo pesantez, progresiva y de gran intensidad, ubicada en hemicráneo izquierdo acompañado de náusea y vómito explosivo, al mes siguiente presenta deformidad en región parietal izquierda; seis meses después el estudio histopatológico reportó astrocitoma grado III. Paciente recibe quimioterapia y radioterapia sin obtener mejoría, en el último mes presentó deterioro progresivo de su cuadro clínico donde se realiza evaluación oftalmológica presentando ceguera OI, disminución agudeza visual OD, el cuadro clínico al momento se acompaña de compromiso del nivel de conciencia y hemiparesia faciobraquio crural derecha.
