ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: A remote multi-part personal radiation dose detection system is designed with ATmega32A single chip microcomputer as the control core. METHODS: First of all, the geiger counter tube module collects the radiation signal of the surrouding environment. Secondly, using ATmega32A Microprocessor of Slave computer to calculate the collected signal. Finally, it is sent to the host receiving device or mobile APP through Bluetooth module,so as to realize real-time detection of radiation data, remote transmission and security alarm. RESULTS: The system is measured in the same environment as the RG1100 radiometer, with a maximum difference of 0.03 µSv/h.This shows that it can stably realize the functions of radiation measurement, monitoring, alarm, remote connection and multimodal display. CONCLUSIONS: The system has the advantages of good portability (easy to carry), low power consumption, accurate measurement and so on. It has certain reference value and practicability.

ABSTRACT

Venous leg ulcerations are a common problem, with high prevalence in the middle-aged and elderly population, and more attention on research of their physical activities has been paid, as they have great effects on the blood circulation of the lower limb. With enough, appropriate training, the chronic venous ulcerations in the lower limb can be avoided and alleviated, and venous hypertension can be reduced effectively. The study deals with a physical activity tracking system for the patients based on a three-axis accelerometer. The system uses a three-axis accelerometer, a microcontroller, and a wireless Bluetooth module to form a data acquisition platform to acquire accelerations of the lower limb movement, and sends it to a smart mobile phone via the wireless Bluetooth module. The system takes advantages of the smart mobile phone to guide the chronic venous leg ulcers to do prescribed rehabilitation exercises for the lower limb muscles, perform acceleration data preprocessing, wavelet transform and reconstruction, denoising and feature extraction, obtain the results of the rehabilitation exercises, and then give reasonable evaluation and judgment. It is helpful to treat underlying venous reflux, create such an environment that allows skin to grow across an ulcer, and accelerate ulcer healing process consequently.

ABSTRACT

Uncontrolled high blood sugar levels leads to diabetic neuropathy, which is usually develops slowly. Damaged nerves stop sending messages or may send message slowly at the wrong times. The propsed model is an insole for individuals with peripheral neuropathy conditions, where the peak plantar pressure value is measured at specified locations of the foot by means of a pressure sensor, which can be accessed via  a mobile applications; Simultaneously, a stimulation is given at acupressure points of the foot to relieve pain at definite intervals of time, based on the signals from the controller. A controller is being used to perform these operations which will be transmitted to the mobile application via Bluetooth terminal.

ABSTRACT

The study suggests the possibility of using internet of things for a dietary intake survey. The development scenario of the dietary intake survey was composed of a weighing sensor for measuring food weight, bluetooth module for communicating through smart-phones, and smart-phone application. The weighing sensor attached to the bottom of utensils was designed to measure the weight of initial food & food eaten, and the results were transmitted to the smart-phone through the bluetooth module. The exclusive application in the smart-phone displayed the results of the amount of food intake, calorie intake, and eating rate. Through this system, subjects could continuously monitor their dietary intake & eating rate and recognize their actual eating environment, which leads to prevent overconsumption of food intake & form balanced eating habits. Based on this system, we need to consolidate and develop a weight control program.
