ABSTRACT
La investigación realizada es de tipo descriptivo longitudinal, con estudiantes de varias carreras de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Isla de la Juventud (FCMIJ). El objetivo general fue diseñar una propuesta metodológica encaminada al perfeccionamiento de los métodos y técnicas de estudio para los estudiantes, así como la capacitación a los docentes para su implementación. Se utilizaron métodos del nivel teórico, empírico, y estadísticos, relacionados todos dentro de la metodología dialéctica. Los resultados estuvieron concentrados, en los bajos resultados académicos de los estudiantes, producto de limitaciones en el estudio y, en las limitaciones en el trabajo docente educativo por parte del profesorado. Como posible solución a esta problemática se elaboró una propuesta metodológica que servirá para la capacitación de los docentes y estudiantes, garantizando por consiguiente una mejor formación de profesionales competentes(AU)
The investigation is of longitudinal descriptive type, with students of several careers of the Medical Sciences Center of the Isle of Youth. The general objective was to design a methodological proposal guided to the improvement of the methods and technical of study for the students, as well as the training to the educational ones for its implementation. Methods of the theoretical, empiric, and statistical, related level all were used inside the dialectical methodology. The results were concentrated in the first floor academic results of the students, product of limitations in the study and, the limitations in the educational work educational on the part of the educational ones. As possible solution to this problem elaborate a methodological proposal that will be good for the training of the educational ones and students, guaranteeing a better formation of competent professionals consequently(AU)

El artículo refleja las principales características y resultados docentes alcanzados por los estudiantes de la carrera de Medicina matriculados en el curso académico 2004-2005 en el Proyecto Policlínico Universitario perteneciente a la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas Finlay Albarrán, que se encuentran ubicados en los Policlínicos Universitarios de los municipios Lisa y Marianao que comenzaron con ese modelo pedagógico. Se realizó una caracterización a este grupo de estudiantes, analizando los resultados académicos de los 5 primeros años de estudios. Se emplearon métodos investigativos de análisis documental e histórico lógico, que permitieron el estudio del problema con un corte transversal. Los resultados más relevantes fueron: de la matrícula inicial al cierre del 5to año se mantienen finalizando la carrera el 67,4 por ciento, los resultados docentes son satisfactorios con calificaciones del índice general sobresaliente. Concluimos que se evidencia correspondencia entre la caracterización de los estudiantes de éxito, elevados niveles de motivación y de resultados docentes
The article reflected the main characteristics and educational results achieved by the medical students registered in the 2004-2005 academic year in the university policlinic project ascribed to Finlay AlbarránSchool of Medical Sciences. These students were located in the university policlinics of Lisa and Marianao municipalities respectively, both of which began implementing this pedagogic model. This group of students was characterized on the basis of the analysis of their academic results in the first five years of study. Logical documentary and historical analysis research methods were used for the cross-sectional study of the problem. The most relevant results were as follows: at the end of the 5th year, 67,4 percent of the initial roll is finishing the studies; the teaching results are satisfactory with outstanding general academic index. It was concluded that there was some correlation between the characterization of successful students and the high levels of motivation and educational results
