ABSTRACT

To investigate the research status and trends of application of objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) in medical education in China and globally, and to provide a reference for clinical teaching and medical education research. CNKI and Web of Science Core Collection were searched to identify journal articles related to OSCE published up to the present day. CtieSpace V software was used to visually analyze the research institutions, authors, highly cited literature, and keyword changes of the articles based on scientific knowledge maps. The overall number of publications on OSCE published in China and globally showed an increasing trend, but foreign publications were significantly more than Chinese publications. The institutions and authors were widely distributed. Comprehensive universities were the main institutions in foreign publications, with relatively little cooperation between each other. Domestic research primarily focused on medical education in the early stage, SP training and standardization in the middle stage, and clinical competence for resident physicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals in the late stage. Early foreign research focused mainly on medical education and clinical competence, while later research focused primarily on communication with patients and ability assessment. It is expected that future domestic research will focus on building clinical competence evaluation systems based on the OSCE model, while future foreign research will focus on patient communication and humanistic care assessment.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Meniscus has always been the focus of sport medicine with thousands of articles published annually. Few study has tried to analyze these papers with bibliometric methods. The purpose of this study is to statistically analyze the output of meniscus research and determine emerging research trends and hot spots. METHODS: Papers related to the meniscus published from 2010 to 2019 were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection. Information about annual publications and journal distribution was analyzed by Excel 2016. Co-occurrence analysis of the countries/regions, institutions, authors, and keywords were performed with CiteSpace V, which was also used to perform a co-cited analysis of the references and generate corresponding knowledge maps as well as detect burst keywords. RESULTS: A total of 10,066 articles regarding meniscus were published between 2010 and 2019. The number of articles annual about meniscus increased from 786 to 1300. Knee Surgery Sports Traumatology Arthroscopy, the United States, University of Pittsburgh, and LaPrade RF were journal, country, institution, and author with the most publications, respectively. Makris EA et al. in 2011 was the most cited articles, with a citation of 198. Osteoarthritis, tear repair, anterior cruciate ligament, and articular cartilage were keywords with occurrence of more than 500. Meniscal extrusion, scaffold, and tissue engineering were terms with most burst strength. CONCLUSIONS: Meniscus-related publications showed a gradual rising trend from 2010 to 2019. Osteoarthritis, tear repairs, and the anterior cruciate ligament are the current research hot spots. Extrusion and scaffolds may be the frontiers of meniscus research in the next few years. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: IV.

ABSTRACT

The transient receptor potential melastatin-subfamily member 7 (TRPM7) is a ubiquitously expressed protein that contains both an ion channel and an active kinase. TRPM7 has involved in a variety of cellular functions and critically participates in various diseases mainly including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. However, the theme trends and knowledge structures for TRPM7 have not yet been studied bibliometrically. The main purposes of this research are to compare the scientific production in the research field of TRPM7 among countries and to evaluate the publication trend between 2004 and 2019. All publications were extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from 2004 to 2019. Microsoft Excel 2018, Prism 6, and CiteSpace V were applied to analyze the scientific research outputs including journals, countries, territories, institutions, authors, and research hotspots. In this report, a total of 860 publications related to TRPM7 were analyzed. Biophysical Journal ranked top for publishing 31 papers. The United States of America had the largest number of publications (320) with a high citation frequency (11,298) and H-index (58). Chubanov V (38 publications) and Gudermann T (38 citations), who from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, were the most productive authors and had the greatest co-citation counts. Our study also combined the bibliometric study with a systematic review on TRPM7, highlighting the four research frontiers of TRPM7. This is the first study that demonstrated the trends and future development in TRPM7 publications, providing a clear and intuitive profile for the contributions in this field.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the situation of nephrology nursing research in more than a decade, and to provide reference for the development of nursing scientific research in China.@*Methods@#A total of 1 927 papers of nephrology nursing, which ranged from January 1, 2008 to November 8, 2018, were retrieved from the Web of Science core collection database and visualized by CiteSpace V and ECharts.js.@*Results@#The cited frequency of international nephrology nursing research increased year by year, and the number of papers growed tendency in fluctuation. The United States and Australia were in the leading position on nephrology nursing research, and China ranked sixth. Research hotspots focused mainly on the keywords such as chronic kidney disease, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, quality of life, and disease management. Co-occurrence cluster analysis revealed that peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis were the frontiers.@*Conclusions@#International nephrology nursing research has developed steadily. Chinese specialists should track the research trends of international core institutions in real time, explore research hotspots and frontiers, and strive for prompting nursing research to be in line with the international.

ABSTRACT

Results and Conclusion The number of rehabilitation nursing studies both at home and abroad increased. USA published the most literatures (893) in the world, and China ranked the seventh (117). The most leading research institute was University of Toronto (Canada) in the world, and West China Hospital (Sichuan) in China. China and other countries all focused on stroke and quality of life, but less focused on long-term outcomes of rehabilitation in China. The research fronts in the foreigns extended from hospitals to communities and nursing homes, and the subjects of service extended from inpatients to the adults and old adults. The key word emerged in 2016 was cardiovascular disease, indicating a new developing hot topics. Objective:To analyze the domestic and foreign research hot topics and research fronts of rehabilitation nursing in recent ten years. Methods:The literatures about rehabilitation nursing were retrieved from the databases of Web of Science and CNKI, from 2009 to 2018. The visualization maps were drawn with CiteSpace V software to analyse time, country, institution, research hotspots and fronts.

ABSTRACT

Although sodium channels have been a hot multidisciplinary focus for decades and most of nerve system drugs worked on alerting sodium channel function, the trends and future directions of sodium channel studies have not been comprehensive analyzed bibliometrically. Herein, we collected the scientific publications of sodium channels research and constructed a model to evaluate the current trend systematically. Publications were selected from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from 2013 to 2017. Microsoft Excel 2016, Prism 6, and CiteSpace V software were used to analyze publication outputs, journal sources, countries, territories, institutions, authors, and research areas. A total of 4,275 publications on sodium channel research were identified. PLoS ONE ranked top for publishing 170 papers. The United States of America had the largest number of publications (1,595), citation frequency (19,490), and H-index (53). S. G. Waxman (62 publications) and W. A. Catterall (585 citations) were the most productive authors and had the greatest co-citation counts. This is the first report that shows the trends and future development in sodium channel publications, and our study provides a clear profile for the contribution to this field by countries, authors, keywords, and institutions.
