Estudo dos prognósticos para pacientes geriátricos e não geriátricos portadores de prótese total na região de Santa Fé do Sul / Study of the prognosis for geriatrics and not geriatrics patients carrier of complete denture in the area of Santa Fé do Sul

Este estudo teve como propósito analisar algumas condições clínicas favoráveis para o sucesso de uma prótese total em uma amostra de 70 pacientes atendidos pela disciplina de Prótese Total da Faculdade de Odontologia de Santa Fé de Sul, no período de 2001 a 2002, considerando a idade dos pacientes no momento do atendimento (inferior ou igual/ superior a sessenta anos). As características dos mesmos foram analisadas, por meio de questionários, quanto à cidade de origem, o estado civil, o sexo, a resiliência das mucosas, posição de língua, aumento volumétrico de túber, movimentação mandibular, cor dos dentes, tipo de doenças, condições da mucosa, saliva, experiência anterior com próteses e tipo de próteses confeccionadas.Os resultados mostraram, entre outros fatores, que a maioria dos pacientes pertencia ao sexo feminino, a resiliência média foi predominante em ambas as idades analisadas assim como o domínio dos movimentos mandibulares . A doença mais freqüente foi a hipertensão arterial, a saliva serosa foi a mais encontrada e o tipo de prótese mais confeccionada foi a bimaxilar.O perfil apresentado pelos pacientes de ambas as faixas etárias estudadas não determinaram diferenças significativas com relação ao prognóstico favorável e o sucesso do tratamento com Prótese Totais

The purpose of this study was to analyse a sample of 70 pacients attended in the complete denture clinic of Santa Fé do Sul University, among 2001 and 2002, considering the age of pacients in the moment of council (lower or equal/higher sixty years old). The characteristic of them were analysed such as , the civil status, sex, mucosal resilience, position of the tongue, volumetric increase of tuber, movement of jaw, color of the artificial teeth, general health, conditions of the mucosal, saliva,previous experince with prothesis and type of prothesis. The results were found across the form, whose analysis to conclude that the mayority of the patients to belong the feminine sex, the medium resilience was predominate in both the ages as well as the jaw movement power. The health most frequent was the blood pressure, as well as the viscous saliva and the bimaxilary prothesis. The profile of the patients of the two zone of the ages studied not to cause difference signifycants with relation the favorable prognosis and the success of the treatment with complete dentures

Clinical and radiological diagnoses of aseptic loosening of prosthetic components after total hip arthroplasty / 中华创伤骨科杂志

The aseptic loosening of prosthetic components after the total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a possible clinic problem which needs resolving by orthopedic surgeons. Timely clinical and radiological examinations and ana lyses of the signs and progression of the loosening after THA will play a critical role in prevention and treatment to the aseptic loosening of prosthetic components. The article puts forward the principle for correct evaluation of the aseptic loosening after it reviews and analyzes the existing clinical and radiological examination methods of detecting the loosening.
