ABSTRACT

This article proposes to show not only how imagination unfolds in the various fields of our human experience, but above all to account for the emergence of significant novelties. Or how the creative imagination gives birth to novel agentivities (be they works, beings, new ways of doing, acting and becoming) and engages us in a poetics of caring for the world.

ABSTRACT

The parents of a baby hospitalized in a neonatal unit are confronted with the trauma of premature birth. L'Atelier créa, a creatively-mediated peer group, was designed to give them a space in which to meet and share their experiences. It's a time for talking, imagining and dreaming about the baby. This group is also a form of passage, taking the place of ritual, allowing access to the parent-baby triad, in this sometimes so inhospitable universe.

ABSTRACT

For most residents of Europe, war is a new experience in which they find themselves both as witnesses and participants. In this paper the war in Ukraine serves as an illustration and case example. Like any unfamiliar experience, war elicits profound emotional responses which can be so overwhelming that an individual may be unable to fully process them and to create mental representations of the reality of war. When the psyche becomes entrapped in an unprocessed state, without the capacity to derive meaning from it, this results in the "fossilization" of the psyche akin to what McGinley and Segal describes as a totalitarian state of mind. Subjectivity and individual differences come under collective or personal attack, or both. This state of being prioritizes the needs of the collective psyche over the individual psyche. The image of Gorgon Medusa, who transformed living people into "fossilized" ones, is presented as a metaphor of total identification with the collective dimension. In contrast, the psyche can reveal a creative approach to resolving war-induced trauma. This is depicted in the concept of the Alchemical Stone and its creation, which symbolizes a harmonious connection between the external and internal realms, the subjective and objective experiences, and the real and the imaginal dimension.

ABSTRACT

The ordeal of chronicity is marked, from the outside, by an impression of dependence on the institution. Considering the discharge of a patient who has been hospitalized for a long period of time requires reflection at different levels and is based on a major challenge, that of integrating a new model of care. The clinical situation presented allows us to highlight both the caregiving skills and the impact on the group that this implies in a clearly defined dynamic: mobilizing the patient's resources.

ABSTRACT

The relational field does not only concern psychiatric professionals. A school teacher has carried out a university research work on the specificity of the psychic processes which are the basis of the helping relationship. Situations experienced in a kindergarten class describe the relational complexity involved, as well as the questioning and doubts of the professional. Finally, constructive approaches propose alternatives for maintaining the link in the relationship.

ABSTRACT

To work as a psychiatric sector nurse is to have built a know-how in the richness and multiplicity of the sectorization. Since the 1990s, this specificity has disappeared and with it the belonging to a common culture. Another conception of care is emerging, responding to general trends rather than to specific and territorial needs. Today, it is hoped that knowledge and know-how will be built and passed on as a reference in areas of exchange yet to be invented.

ABSTRACT

The art movements of Cubism and Abstract Expressionism, influenced by Jung and Freud, emerged as a symbolic representation of the collective unconscious, and became an expression of the challenging times of a culture in transition. Similar to the technique of interpretation in psychoanalysis, Cubist painting was a method of demarcation, rather than an imitation of what was seen in the physical world. Also, as an expression of collective experience, the avant-garde movement of Abstract Expressionism emerged out of Cubism. It moved away from the logical idealism of Cubism into an expression of felt experience. This paper will review the art of the avant-garde Cubist and Abstract Expressionist movements. The psychology of the artistic process will be explored in relation to psychoanalysis and collective experience.

A psicologia do processo artístico será explorada, em relação à psicanálise e à experiência coletiva.

ABSTRACT

Abstract Poet Fernando Pessoa and psychiatrist C. G. Jung developed their works consonant with their biographies. Both described episodes that can be interpreted as mediumistic, seeking to understand them psychologically. In current psychological literature, mediumship is associated to the concept of personality dissociation. In this regard, this article examines the relationship between dissociation and mediumship based on Pessoa's and Jung's biographical episodes, in light of analytical psychology and anomalistic psychology. It is hypothesized that they experienced creative, non-pathological dissociations, although some level of suffering was involved. Pessoa's experiences are related to his hetoronymic production, whereas Jung's are tied with the development of his psychological model, which offers elements for a psychobiographical and artistic study of the poet.

ABSTRACT

Subscribing in a unique way to the psychoanalytic tradition, Winnicott establishes a situation of standardized observation of babies in which playing appears as a diagnostic and therapeutic criterion for child development. This observation starts to operate as a matrix of Winnicottian thought from which the theory of primitive emotional development will be elaborated. The present article seeks to highlight which are the preconditions for the development of the human baby's ability to play, identifying some points of continuity and inflection in relation to Freudo-Kleinian theorizing about the child's play and emotional development: the relationships between criticism , illusion and the paradox

ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT This work proposes the definition of the concept of ideal, showing its difference from the ideal of the ego, superego, idealization and idolatry. The ideal is the main foundation for the subject's ethics. Consequently, this encourages the rethinking on the way superego is understood. In order to study the ideal, the author analyses its generations' origins, the parents' transfer, the reference to the ancestors, to secondary identifications. However, the ideal is not seen as accurate, as it is paradoxically reference from many people and from nobody. As the ideal of the ego is the narcissism heir, the ideal would be, more precisely, the trophic narcissism, the one that contributes for growth. At the clinic and analytical practice, the concept of the ideal allows us to embrace the call for life or survival based on certain patients' ideas or behaviors - those who seem to be loud and dazzling, usually considered a maniac defense. To support all these considerations, the author presents many clinical and designer's illustrations.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND.: Examining craft-based occupations is necessary to explicate the relationship between occupation and well-being. PURPOSE.: This study aimed to understand the role of knitting in the lives of passionate knitters and their experience of how knitting contributes to health, well-being, and occupational identity. METHOD.: Principles of phenomenology guided interviews with 21 knitting-guild members (with and without health conditions) and observations at seven guild meetings as well as guided the data analysis. Eight interviewees and 24 additional guild members confirmed key findings in writing. FINDINGS.: Five main themes capture how knitting (a) "makes me happy," (b) is "the mental challenge I need," (c) is "a hobby that joins" through social connections and skill development, (d) sustains identity such that "I can't imagine life without knitting," and (e) is a creative outlet "reflecting my personality." IMPLICATIONS.: This in-depth description of how knitters experience their craft in daily life bolsters the philosophical assumption that favoured occupations have the power to promote health and well-being.

ABSTRACT

Starting from the issue of creativity as it may be identified in Winnicott's and Bion's thinking, we will present some ideas on creation - a creative takeoff - by using the French psychoanalysts Michel de M'Uzan and Didier Anzieu as interlocutors. We will work with creation in the Arts, Literature, Science, and Psychoanalytic Theories. We will also examine how unconscious envy misleads or obstructs the creative process.

ABSTRACT

This article describes the work experience at a public institution in the interior region of the country. It exposes the case of a 9-year-old boy with PDD and Down syndrome diagnosed by a neurologist. He also presents an ASD medical certificate and takes risperidone. Marcos has been receiving his schooling in a special institution for several years and he has been included in a new Service of Severe Personality Disorder, called "snail classroom", which works, as a new method, with the interaction between psychology and pedagogy. When arriving at the institution, the boy wanders, makes stereotypical movements, has a better relationship with objects than with his peers, isolates himself, has bowel and bladder incontinence, does not speak or play, and only manipulates an object. The subjectivising interventions done with the boy, with his mother and with the institutional approach are detailed, reporting on the evolution of the accomplished task(AU)

ABSTRACT

The transformation processes in artistic-creative work and those of the analytic process can be considered to be comparable. To illustrate the relatedness of the two, the author describes three self-states that characterized the artist Alberto Giacometti's creative process. With reference to Jungian concepts, the author subsequently illustrates how these states of mind can be found in the analyst during the analytic encounter. By comparing both processes, he explores the temptations and denials that accompany the analyst's struggle for an analytic attitude.

ABSTRACT

The managerial project of the nursing directorate set up by an adult general psychiatric unit aims first and foremost to change practices in the field. This approach firstly involves structuring the institution's management. The project's main areas of focus are then rolled out through actions prioritising the bold, innovative dimensions of caregiving. This project highlights the skills of many nurses who demonstrate high levels of creativity in their nursing practices and management of patients.

ABSTRACT
