ABSTRACT
La investigación trauma dental. Relación con hábitos bucales deletéreos en la Isla de la Juventud. Se realizó para determinar la relación de los traumatismos dentarios con los hábitos bucales deletéreos en niños de 3 a 14 años. El estudio fue observacional descriptivo prospectivo transversal, el universo fue de 1630 niños, y una muestra de 520 pacientes. Para determinar la frecuencia de los traumatismos dentarios según la edad y caracterizar a los pacientes afectados por traumatismos dentarios en cuanto a la presencia de hábitos deletéreos. Se aplicó la prueba de Chi cuadrado (X2) y odds ratio, para determinar el nivel de asociación. El grupo etario de 6 a 11 años fue el más afectado por traumas con 14.2 por ciento. El hábito deformante que tuvo mayor grado de asociación con el trauma dental fue la succión digital, seguido del tete y posteriormente la respiración bucal(AU).
The research Dental trauma. Relation to bad oral habits in Isle of Youth was carried out to determine the relation between dental traumas and bad oral habits in children in the 3 to 14 age group. The study was carried out with observation, descriptive and transverse techniques. The statistics was made up of 1630 children and a sample of 520 patients. It was carried out to determine the frequency of dental trauma according to age and to characterize patients who suffer from dental traumas due to bad oral habits CHI (X2) and odds ratio tests were run to determine the level of association. Patients in the 6 to 11 age group were the most affected by traumas with the 14.2 percent. The most frequent bad oral habit associated with dental trauma was digital sucking, fallowed by bottle feeding and oral respiration.
