ABSTRACT

Mantle cell lymphoma is characterized by t(11;14) with CCND1-IGH fusion and manifests with a spectrum of disease ranging from relatively indolent to aggressive. Here, we present a case of pleomorphic mantle cell lymphoma with three fusion signals that presented with lethal atraumatic splenic rupture. We discuss on the implications of variant CCND1 signal patterns as well as the epidemiology and pathophysiology of atraumatic splenic rupture.

ABSTRACT

A rare finding of primary cutaneous CD4+ small to medium-sized Tcell lymphoma (SMPTCL) in a fifteen-year-old patient is reported. This is a rare tumor entity for which there is currently no standardized treatment recommendation. At the interdisciplinary tumor board, the decision was made to resect the tumor and reconstruct the defect with a nasolabial advancement flap in a two-stage process. Follow-up examinations, currently over 3 years, have shown the patient to be free of recurrences.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of primary gastric malignant (lymphoma)(PGML).Methods The diagnosis and treatment data of 21 cases of PGML admitted in our(hospital) during 8 years was retrospectively analyzed. The diagnostic methods included barium meal(examination),gastroscopy,B type ultrasonography, and CT scan. All patients underwent operative treatment and most of the patients received adjuvant chemotherapy. Results Upper abdominal pain, digestive tract bleeding, emaciation and abdominal mass were common clinical manifestations of PGML.The resectabilty rate of PGML was 90.5% while the 5-year survival rate was 57.1%.Conclusions The key to a satisfactory prognosis was early diagnosis, radical curative operation and combined treatment.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of fludarabine plus mitoxantrone combination chemotherapy for malignant lymphoma compared with CHOP regimen. Methods Sixty-six patients with malignant lymphoma were divided into fludarabine group and CHOP group. The efficacy and toxicities of these two regimens were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results The overall response(OR)was 81.5% in fludarabine group, while was 48.7% in CHOP;for the patients in late-stage,with B cell lymphoma, with T cell lymphoma and with high serum LDH level, the OR in fludarabine group was higher than in CHOP group obstructively, being 62.5% and 35.7%.Conclusion Fludarabine combination chemotherapy,as a first line regimen in treating first-treated lymphoma, recrudescent lymphoma, intractable lymphoma and lymphoma in late stage, possesses higher efficacy, safety and tolerance than CHOP regimen.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the clinical, endoscopic an d pathologic features of primary gastric malignant lymphoma, and to improve its diagnostic efficiency. Methods The clinical, pathologic and endoscopic data in twenty two cases of primary gastric malignant lymphoma were retrospectively reviewed. Results In these cases, the common presentations include abdomi nal pain、anorexia、loss of weight etc. These patients were all examined by endo scopy with protruding, ulcerative and infiltrative lesions. Submucosal lesions w ith hypo echoes were found by endoscopic ultrasonography in six cases, and enlar ged lymph nodes were found on the exterior of stomach in two cases. Conclusion The primary gastric malignant lymphoma has a rather low incidence, and without specific clinical manifestations, hard to differentia te gastric ulcer from cancer through the manifestation in endoscopy. Further com bination of endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography and pathology are helpful to i ts correct diagnosis.

ABSTRACT

Fifty-two patients with primary gastric lymphoma were randomly assigned to two different surgical approaches. Twenty-eight cases were diagnosed by endoscopy and treated with chemotherapy CHOP-Bleo (cyclophosphamide, adriamycin, vincristine, prednisone and bleomycin) alternating with CMED (cyclophosphamide, metothexate, etoposide and dexamethasone). Twenty four cases underwent debulking surgery (partial or total gastrectomy) followed by the same chemotherapy. No differences were observed in relapse free disease or survival in resected or unresected patients. Complications were more frequent and severe in patients who underwent surgery. We believe that surgery is not necessary in the treatment of patients with primary gastric lymphoma.
