ABSTRACT

Amidst the swift progression of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the museum sector has witnessed a notable inclination towards its adoption. This manuscript endeavours to amplify the interactive milieu of contemporary museum patrons by amalgamating a deep learning algorithm with multimedia technology. The crux of our investigation is the exploration of an adaptive convolutional neural network (CNN) to enrich the interactive engagement of museum visitors. Initially, we leverage the adaptive CNN for the image recognition chore pertaining to museum artifacts and exhibits, thereby facilitating automatic recognition and categorization. Furthermore, to surmount the constraints of conventional pooling algorithms in image feature extraction, we suggest an adaptive pooling algorithm, grounded in the maximum pooling algorithm paradigm. Subsequently, multimedia algorithms are amalgamated into the interactive apparatus, enabling visitors to immerse in exhibits and avail more profound information and experiences. Through juxtaposition with traditional image processing algorithms, the efficacy of our proposed algorithm within a museum ambiance is assessed. Experimental outcomes evince that our algorithm attains superior accuracy and robustness in artifact identification and classification endeavours. In comparison to alternative algorithms, our methodology furnishes more precise and comprehensive displays and interpretations, accurately discerning and categorizing a myriad of exhibit types. This research unveils innovative notions for the digital metamorphosis and advancement of modern museums. Through the incorporation of avant-garde deep learning algorithms and multimedia technologies, the museum visitor experience is elevated, proffering more enthralling and interactive displays. The elucidations of this manuscript hold substantial merit for the continual evolution and innovation within the museum industry.

ABSTRACT

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic interfered with normal campus life, resulting in the need for the course to be conducted in an ideal online format. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of different styles of online political course videos on students' attention during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Four college students participated in this small sample study. They were required to conduct two sessions of the experiment, in which they were required to watch three different styles of course videos in each session. While watching the videos, their EEG signals were acquired. For the acquired EEG signals, the sample entropy (SampEn) features were extracted. On the other hand, Mayer's theories of multimedia technology provide guidance for teachers' online courses to enhance students' attention levels. The results of EEG signals analysis and Mayer's theories of multimedia technology were combined to compare and analyze the effects of three styles of instructional videos. Results: Based on comparisons of the SampEn and Mayer's theories of multimedia technology analysis, the results suggest that online instruction in a style where the instructor and content appear on the screen at the same time and the instructor points out the location of the content as it is explained is more likely to elicit higher levels of students' attention. Conclusions: During the COVID-19 pandemic, online instructional methods have an impact on students' classroom attention. It is essential for teachers to design online instructional methods based on students' classroom attention levels and some multimedia instructional techniques to improve students' learning efficiency.

ABSTRACT

The existing doctor-patient communication pattern often falls prey to insufficient informed consent and even medical disputes. In the patient centered perspective, Zhejiang Provincial People′s Hospital explored a new communication mode centering on patients. Based on diagnosis-related groups catalogues and high-frequency surgeries catalogues of the departments, multimedia technology was called into play to produce dubbed PPTs and videos that were easy to understand, standardized and homogeneous, which were embedded into medical records system. Following observation of the PPT or video, patients could directly sign an informed consent on the computer. This practice not only deepens patient′s understanding and achieves homogeneous level of the communication, but also elevates doctor′s work efficiency, contributing to building a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.
