ABSTRACT

Paepalanthus is a diverse genus characteristic of the campos rupestres, a megadiverse vegetation found on mountaintops of mainly quartzitic mountain ranges of central-eastern Brazil. Recent efforts on prospecting the biodiversity of Serra do Padre Ângelo, a small mountain complex in eastern Minas Gerais, yielded several new plant and animal species, highlighting the urgency of conservation actions towards this still unprotected area. Here, we describe yet another new species found in the campos rupestres of these mountains, Paepalanthusmagnus, a mountaintop microendemic species morphologically similar to taxa found in the Espinhaço Range, over 200 km distant, a biogeographic pattern shared by several other species. The affinities of the new species are discussed, and we provide illustrations, photographs, and SEM photomicrographs of the seed. We also discuss the conservation status of the species, which is preliminarily assessed as Critically Endangered, reinforcing the urgent need to address the conservation of the unique biodiversity of Serra do Padre Ângelo.


ResumoPaepalanthus é um gênero característico dos campos rupestres, uma vegetação megadiversa encontrada no topo de montanhas de cadeias montanhosas, principalmente quartzíticas, do centro-leste do Brasil. Esforços recentes de inventariar a biodiversidade da Serra do Padre Ângelo, um pequeno complexo montanhoso no leste de Minas Gerais, resultaram na descoberta de várias novas espécies de plantas e animais, destacando a urgência de ações de conservação para esta área ainda não protegida. Aqui, descrevemos mais uma nova espécie encontrada nos campos rupestres dessas montanhas, Paepalanthusmagnus, uma espécie microendêmica, morfologicamente semelhante a táxons encontrados na Serra do Espinhaço, a mais de 200 km de distância, um padrão biogeográfico repetido por várias outras espécies. As afinidades da nova espécie são discutidas e fornecemos ilustrações, fotografias da planta e de microscopia eletrônica de varredura (MEV) da semente. Também discutimos o status de conservação da espécie, que é preliminarmente avaliada como Criticamente Em Perigo, reforçando a necessidade urgente de abordar a conservação da biodiversidade única da Serra do Padre Ângelo.

Introducción. La hospitalización de un hijo en la unidad de pacientes críticos neonatal puede ser altamente estresante para padres y madres, lo cual se intensificó en el contexto de la pandemia por COVID-19. A la fecha, no se han encontrado estudios que describan la experiencia de padres que vivieron la doble hospitalización simultánea de su pareja y de su hijo/a al nacer, durante la pandemia por COVID-19. Objetivos. Explorar la vivencia de los padres de tener a sus hijos/as hospitalizados en Neonatología mientras su pareja se encontraba hospitalizada por agravamiento de COVID-19. Población y método. Cuatro entrevistas semiestructuradas fueron realizadas y analizadas mediante un análisis interpretativo fenomenológico. Resultados. Se identificaron cuatro momentos cuando surgieron emociones específicas: a) inicio del contagio, b) hospitalización de la pareja, c) nacimiento del bebé y d) hospitalización del bebé. Culpa, miedo, angustia de muerte, soledad e incertidumbre aparecen muy tempranamente y luego se combinan con emociones como felicidad y empoderamiento, entre otras. La falta de contacto físico con sus parejas e hijos, y las fallas en la comunicación con los equipos de salud se destacan como factores que obstaculizan el ejercicio del rol paternal, mientras que una comunicación fluida con el equipo y una participación activa en los cuidados del bebé son factores protectores. Los padres cumplen una multiplicidad de roles, en la que prima el rol protector. Conclusiones. La comunicación y la atención centrada en la familia, y la participación activa en los cuidados de los bebés tienen el potencial de proteger contra el impacto de esta experiencia compleja de doble hospitalización.


Introduction. The hospitalization of a baby in the neonatal intensive care unit may be highly stressful for both mothers and fathers, and this was even more intense in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.To date, no studies have been found that describe the experience of fathers who underwent the simultaneous hospitalization of their partner and newborn infant during the COVID-19 pandemic. Objectives. To explore the experience of fathers who had their babies hospitalized in the Neonatal Unit while their partner were hospitalized due to worsening of COVID-19. Population and method. Four semi-structured interviews were conducted and analyzed using an interpretative phenomenological analysis. Results. Four moments were identified when specific emotions arose: a) onset of infection, b) partner hospitalization, c) baby birth, and d) baby hospitalization. Guilt, fear, death anxiety, loneliness, and uncertainty appear very early and are later combined with emotions such as happiness and empowerment, among others. The lack of physical contact with their partners and babies and failures in communication with the health care team stand out as factors that hinder the exercise of the paternal role, while an effective communication with the health care team and active participation in the baby's care are protective factors. Fathers fulfill multiple roles, the most important of which is their role as protectors. Conclusions. Family-centered communication and care and active involvement in baby care may potentially protect against the impact of this complex experience of double hospitalization.

ABSTRACT Objective: To identify in the literature and summarize the elements and characteristics of fatherhood involved during pregnancy. Method: Scoping review that used PRISMA-ScR guide to report this review. Searches were carried out in PubMed, CINAHL, PsycInfo, LILACS and Scopus. Google search engines and public health agency websites assisted in searches of gray literature and Rayyan in screening studies. Results: A total of 406 articles were identified, of which 16 made up the final sample. Five elements make up an involved fatherhood: feeling like a father, being a provider and protector, being a partner and participant in pregnancy, participating in prenatal appointments and feeling prepared to take care of a baby. Conclusion: Fathers want to be involved in prenatal care, but feel excluded from this process. Public policies that encourage paternal involvement and healthcare professional training to better welcome and promote paternal involvement are of paramount importance.


RESUMEN Objetivo: Identificar en la literatura y resumir los elementos y características de la paternidad involucrada durante el embarazo. Método: Scoping review que utilizó la guía PRISMA-ScR para informar esta revisión. Las búsquedas se realizaron en las bases de datos PubMed, CINAHL, PsycInfo, LILACS y Scopus. Los motores de búsqueda de Google y los sitios web de agencias de salud pública ayudaron en las búsquedas de literatura gris y el software Rayyan en estudios de detección. Resultados: Se identificaron 406 artículos, 16 de los cuales constituyeron la muestra final. Cinco elementos componen una paternidad involucrada: sentirse padre, ser proveedor y protector, ser pareja y partícipe del embarazo, participar en las consultas prenatales y sentirse preparado para cuidar a un bebé. Conclusión: Los padres quieren participar en la atención prenatal, pero se sienten excluidos de este proceso. Las políticas públicas que fomenten la participación paterna y la formación de profesionales de la salud para acoger y promover mejor la participación paterna son de suma importancia.

Método: Scoping review que utilizou o guia PRISMA-ScR para reportar esta revisão. Buscas foram realizadas nas bases PubMed, CINAHL, PsycInfo, LILACS e Scopus. Os mecanismos de busca do Google e sites de órgãos de saúde pública auxiliaram nas buscas na literatura cinzenta e o software Rayyan na triagem dos estudos. Resultados: Foram capturados 406 artigos, dos quais 16 compuseram a amostra final. Cinco elementos compõem uma paternidade envolvida: sentir-se pai, ser provedor e protetor, ser parceiro e participativo na gravidez, participar das consultas de pré-natal e sentir-se preparado para cuidar do bebê. Conclusão: O pai deseja estar envolvido nos cuidados pré-natais, porém sente-se excluído deste processo. Políticas públicas que estimulem o envolvimento paterno e a capacitação de profissionais de saúde para melhor acolher e promover o envolvimento paterno são de suma importância.

ABSTRACT

Los bebés exhiben una amplia gama de comportamientos prosociales, que incluyen ayudar, compartir, consolar y cooperar. En la infancia, estos comportamientos se vuelven más sofisticados y socialmente apropiados. El objetivo de esta investigación es identificar y revisar sistemáticamente la literatura que ha incorporado el estudio de la figura paterna y su impacto en el desarrollo de la conducta prosocial en los niños/as entre los 0 y 5 años. Método, utilizando la metodología PRISMA, se realiza una búsqueda y análisis de artículos científicos en las bases de datos Scopus y Web of Science, considerando criterios de inclusión y exclusión establecidos. Resultados, se seleccionaron 28 artículos y el análisis de sus resultados indica que el padre tiene un impacto en el desarrollo de la conducta prosocial de los niños entre los 0 y 5 años. El ejercicio del rol paterno y el apoyo entregado por el padre, favorece que el niño/a manifieste conductas prosociales desde la infancia temprana, en la relación con sus figuras significativas y con terceros, de forma directa e indirecta, en los distintos contextos de socialización.


Infants exhibit a wide range of prosocial behaviors, including helping, sharing, comforting, and cooperating. In infancy, these behaviors become more sophisticated and socially appropriate. The aim of this research is to systematically identify and review the literature that has incorporated the study of the father figure and its impact on the development of prosocial behavior in children aged 0-5 years. Method, using the PRISMA methodology, a search and analysis of scientific articles in the Scopus and Web of Science databases was carried out, considering established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results, 28 articles were selected and the analysis of their results indicates that fathers have an impact on the development of prosocial behavior in children between 0 and 5 years of age. The exercise of the paternal role and the support provided by the father, favors the child to manifest prosocial behaviors from early childhood, in the relationship with their significant figures and with third parties, directly and indirectly, in the different socialization contexts.

INTRODUCTION: Studies that have compared the cognitive alterations of the children of parents with bipolar disorder (CPBD) versus the children of control parents (CCP), present heterogeneous results due to the studies' methodological differences, the age of the population studied, and the lack of standardisation of the measures used for the different neurocognitive domains. The objective was to compare the neurocognitive profile of CPBD versus CCP to observe if there are differences that could be proposed as possible endophenotypes of BD. RESULTS: A total of 107 individuals (51 CPBD, and 56 CCP) with ages between 6 and 16 (mean, 12.2±2.80) years of age were evaluated. Seventy-four point five percent of the CPBD group had some disorder compared to 67.9% of the CCP group. Tests such as letter-F phonemic verbal fluency, letter-S phonemic verbal fluency, overall F-A-S phonemic verbal fluency, story recall and retrieval, and Wisconsin perseverative errors showed a difference with a small effect size, but with a high degree of uncertainty. CONCLUSIONS: The CPBD did not have differences in their neurocognitive profile in comparison with CCP. Both groups have a high prevalence of psychopathology, which is a factor that could explain the lack of differences in neurocognitive performance.

Background: Parents are a key source of support for children exposed to single-incident/acute traumas and can thereby play a potentially significant role in children's post-trauma psychological adjustment. However, the evidence base examining parental responses to child trauma and child posttraumatic stress symptoms (PTSS) has yielded mixed findings.Objective: We conducted a systematic review examining domains of parental responding in relation to child PTSS outcomes.Method: Studies were included if they (1) assessed children (6-19 years) exposed to a potentially traumatic event, (2) assessed parental responses to a child's trauma, and (3) quantitatively assessed the relationship between parental responses and child PTSS outcomes. A systematic search of three databases (APAPsycNet, PTSDpubs, and Web of Science) yielded 27 manuscripts.Results: Parental overprotection, trauma communication, avoidance of trauma discussion and of trauma reminders, and distraction were consistently related to child PTSS. There was more limited evidence of a role for trauma-related appraisals, harsh parenting, and positive parenting in influencing child outcomes. Significant limitations to the evidence base were identified, including limited longitudinal evidence, single informant bias and small effect sizes.Conclusion: We conclude that key domains of parental responses could be potential intervention targets, but further research must validate the relationship between these parental responses and child PTSS outcomes.


Child post-traumatic stress symptoms following acute trauma are consistently related to post-trauma parental overprotection, avoidance of trauma discussion and of trauma reminders, and promotion of distraction from trauma-related thoughts and stimuli.The findings from this review provide a potential rationale for targeting these parental domains in clinical interventions addressing children's post-traumatic stress symptoms.Future research is needed to validate the longitudinal relationship between parental response domains following children's traumatic exposure and child post-traumatic stress symptoms.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: Phase difference enhanced (PADRE) imaging can enhance myelin density and delineate the superior cerebellar peduncle (SCP). We aimed to determine if SCP atrophy was distinguishable on PADRE imaging and evaluate its diagnostic performance compared with previous MRI progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) findings. METHODS: Two reviewers measured the SCP widths on PADRE in 20 PSP and 31 Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. The SCP and middle cerebellar peduncle (MCP) widths and the pons and midbrain areas were measured on 3D-T1WI, and the ratio of the area of the pons to the area of the midbrain, the MCP/SCP ratio, and the magnetic resonance parkinsonism index (MRPI) were calculated. We used the Steel-Dwass test to compare PSP, PD, and HS, and receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analyses to assess the sensitivity and specificity for diagnosing PSP from PD. A comparison of ROC curves was performed between the SCP on PADRE and these 3D-T1WI parameters. RESULTS: In radiologist 1, the SCP on PADRE in PSP (1.1 ± 0.3 mm) was significantly smaller than those in PD (2.4 ± 0.4 mm) (P < 0.001); the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.97. At a 1.75-mm cutoff value, the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity for differentiating PSP from PD were 93.5% and 100%, respectively. The AUC of the SCP on PADRE was significantly higher than the 3D-T1WI parameters (the SCP, MCP, pons area, MCP/SCP ratio, and MRPI). CONCLUSION: Assessing SCP with PADRE imaging may yield high diagnostic accuracy for discriminating PSP from PD.

durante la adolescencia se adquieren conocimientos y se desarrollan actitudes hacia el sexo, la anticoncepción y la reproducción, aspectos que influirán en el comportamiento sexual que repercute directamente en la calidad de vida. Por tanto, el objetivo de este estudio fue determinar los factores sociales y emocionales asociados al inicio de la actividad sexual, así como sus consecuencias como el embarazo y las enfermedades de transmisión sexual en adolescentes y adultos jóvenes. Materiales y métodos: estudio descriptivo, transversal y correlacional de una muestra de 1191 estudiantes de secundaria que recibieron cuestionarios sobre factores socioemocionales e iniciación sexual. Los datos se procesaron mediante estadística descriptiva y la prueba chi-cuadrado de Pearson para determinar la asociación entre los factores evaluados. Resultados: la tasa de inicio de la actividad sexual entre los adolescentes fue del 45 %, de los cuales el 14 % utilizaba protección. El 88,8 % de los adolescentes dice recibir apoyo de los padres, el 39 % acepta tratos violentos en el hogar y el 47 % tuvo una madre adolescente embarazada, entre otros aspectos. Conclusiones: existe una relación significativa (con p < 0.05) entre los factores socioemocionales de género, proyectos de vida, actividades extracurriculares, apoyo de los padres, violencia intrafamiliar y maltrato, con respecto a las madres con antecedente de embarazo precoz e inicio de la actividad sexual en la adolescencia.


During adolescence, knowledge is acquired and attitudes toward sex, contraception, and reproduction are developed, aspects that will influence sexual behavior, which has a direct impact on quality of life. Therefore, this study was designed to determine the social and emotional factors associated with the onset of sexual activity and its consequences, such as pregnancy and sexually transmitted dis-eases, among adolescents and young adults. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional, and cor-relational study involving 1,191 high school students was conducted. A questionnaire containing questions on socio-emotional factors and sexual initiation was administered. Data were processed using descriptive statistics and Pearson's chi-square test to determine the association between the evaluated factors. Results:The initiation rate of sexual activity among adolescents was 45%, of whom 14% used protection. However, 88.8% of the adolescents received parental support, 39% accepted violent treatment at home, and 47% had a pregnant adolescent mother, among other aspects. Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between the socio-emotional factors of sex, life projects, extracurricular activities, parental support, intra-family violence, and mistreatment. Having a mother with a history of early pregnancy is associated with the onset of sexual activity among adolescents.

Portanto, o objetivo deste estudo foi determinar os fatores sociais e emocionais associados ao início da atividade sexual, bem como suas consequências, como a gravidez e doenças sexualmente transmissíveis em adolescentes e jovens adultos. Materiais e métodos: estudo descritivo, transversal e correlacional em uma amostra de 1191 estudantes do ensino médio que rece-beram questionários sobre fatores socioemocionais e iniciação sexual. Os dados foram processados por meio de estatística descritiva e teste qui-quadrado de Pearson para determinar a associação entre os fatores avaliados. Resultados: a taxa de início da atividade sexual entre os adolescentes foi de 45%, dos quais 14% utilizavam proteção. 88,8% dos adolescentes afirmaram receber apoio dos pais, 39% recebem tratamento violento em casa e 47% têm mãe adolescente grávida, entre outros aspectos. Conclusões: existe uma relação significativa com p < 0,05 entre os fatores socioemocionais de gênero, projetos de vida, atividades extracurriculares, apoio parental, violência doméstica e maus-tratos. Mães com histó-rico de gravidez precoce e início da atividade sexual na adolescência.

Introdução: O conceito de paternidade e parentalidade tem mudado ao longo do tempo, com uma visão mais inclusiva e ativa da figura paterna. No entanto, ainda existem barreiras políticas, sociais e educacionais que limitam o envolvimento dos pais nos cuidados com os filhos, inclusive durante a hospitalização. A participação paterna durante a internação é essencial para o desenvolvimento saudável da criança, e os profissionais de saúde têm um papel fundamental nesse processo. Objetivo: Apresentar um protocolo de revisão de escopo para mapear e descrever os estudos existentes na literatura sobre qual o papel do pai no cuidado ao filho hospitalizado para os profissionais de saúde e familiares Método: Protocolo de scoping review fundamentado pelo Joanna Briggs Institute. Pretende responder à seguinte questão: fundamentada pela estratégia População-Conceito-Contexto (PCC): Quais estudos disponíveis na literatura sobre o papel do pai no cuidado a criança hospitalizada para profissionais de saúde e familiares? Serão incluídos estudos que respondam à pergunta de pesquisa, disponíveis na íntegra, sem delimitação temporal nos idiomas, inglês, português e espanhol. Resultados: A descrição dos achados ocorrerá de forma descritiva, por meio de um quadro, no qual estarão os principais resultados de cada estudo incluído. Considerações finais: Este protocolo norteará o desenvolvimento da revisão de escopo para descrição das evidencias disponíveis acerca do papel do pai no cuidado ao filho hospitalizado para os familiares e profissionais de saúde.


Introduction: The concept of fatherhood and parenthood has changed over time, with a more inclusive and active view of the father figure. However, there are still political, social, and educational barriers that limit fathers' involvement in childcare, including during hospitalization. Father's participation during hospitalization is essential for the healthy development of the child, and healthcare professionals have a fundamental role in this process. Objective: To present a scoping review protocol to map and describe existing studies in the literature on the role of fathers in caring for hospitalized children for healthcare professionals and families. Method: Scoping review protocol based on the Joanna Briggs Institute. It aims to answer the following question, based on the Population- Concept-Context (PCC) strategy: What studies are available in the literature on the role of fathers in caring for hospitalized children for healthcare professionals and families? Studies that answer the research question, available in full, with no temporal limitation in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, will be included. Results: The findings will be described descriptively through a table containing the main results of each included study. Conclusion: This protocol will guide the development of the scoping review to describe the available evidence on the role of fathers in caring for hospitalized children for healthcare professionals and families.

Sin embargo, todavía existen barreras políticas, sociales y educativas que limitan la participación de los padres en el cuidado de los hijos, incluso durante la hospitalización. La participación del padre durante la hospitalización es esencial para el desarrollo saludable del niño, y los profesionales sanitarios tienen un papel fundamental en este proceso. Objetivo: Presentar un protocolo de revisión exploratoria para mapear y describir los estudios existentes en la literatura sobre el papel de los padres en el cuidado de los niños hospitalizados para los profesionales de la salud y las familias. Método: Protocolo de revisión scoping basado en el Instituto Joanna Briggs. Pretende responder a la siguiente pregunta, basada en la estrategia Población-Concepto-Contexto (PCC): ¿Qué estudios están disponibles en la literatura sobre el papel de los padres en el cuidado de los niños hospitalizados para los profesionales sanitarios y las familias? Se incluirán los estudios que respondan a la pregunta de investigación, disponibles en su totalidad, sin limitación temporal en inglés, portugués y español. Resultados: Los hallazgos se describirán descriptivamente a través de una tabla que contendrá los principales resultados de cada estudio incluido. Conclusiones: Este protocolo guiará el desarrollo de la revisión exploratoria para describir la evidencia disponible sobre el papel de los padres en el cuidado de los niños hospitalizados para los profesionales de la salud y las familias.

ABSTRACT

Introducción: Este artículo ejemplifica el discurso psicoanalítico lacaniano de Massimo Recalcati en las dos primeras temporadas y en los episodios especiales de la serie Euphoria (Levinson et al., 2019-presente). Metodología: En este artículo se analiza cómo esta serie televisiva retrata una nueva clínica, propia de las nuevas generaciones, que Recalcati denomina clínica del vacío y que distingue de la clásica clínica de la falta engendrada por la neurosis. Resultados y discusión:Dentro de los nuevos síntomas narcisistas, Rue, la protagonista de la serie, nos permite verificar la descripción que Recalcati hace del malestar de la cultura y de la metapsicología propia de nuestro tiempo, que él define -frente al diagnóstico más pesimista del mero narcisismo- mediante el “complejo de Telémaco”. Metodología: En este artículo se analiza cómo esta serie televisiva retrata una nueva clínica, propia de las nuevas generaciones, que Recalcati denomina clínica del vacío y que distingue de la clásica clínica de la falta engendrada por la neurosis. Resultados y discusión:Dentro de los nuevos síntomas narcisistas, Rue, la protagonista de la serie, nos permite verificar la descripción que Recalcati hace del malestar de la cultura y de la metapsicología propia de nuestro tiempo, que él define -frente al diagnóstico más pesimista del mero narcisismo- mediante el “complejo de Telémaco”. ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the contributions of digital educational technologies, designed for fathers, in promoting breastfeeding. Method: a literature review, integrative type, carried out in December 2022, after electronic consultations in the CINAHL, Web of Science, EMBASE, MEDLINE, BDENF, IBECS and LILACS databases, without restriction of language and publication time. Article selection and information extraction were performed by peers independently. Results: sample of seven articles were published between 2017 and 2022 in Australia, Canada and Ethiopia. Digital educational technologies developed for fathers were mobile apps, eHealth resources, and text messaging. These technologies contributed to improve access to information, sharing of experiences, paternal self-efficacy to support breastfeeding, knowledge and attitude about infant feeding, consequently, improving breastfeeding rates. Conclusion: digital educational technologies on breastfeeding, designed for fathers, are poorly studied. However, they are fundamental to improve paternal support in promoting breastfeeding; therefore, more research is needed for the development of other digital educational technologies for this target audience.


RESUMEN Objetivo: analizar las contribuciones de las tecnologías educativas digitales, diseñadas para padres, en la promoción de la lactancia materna. Método: revisión de literatura, tipo integradora, realizada en diciembre de 2022, previa consulta electrónica en las bases de datos CINAHL, Web of Science, EMBASE, Medline, BDENF, IBECS y LILACS, sin restricción de idioma y tiempo de publicación. La selección de artículos y extracción de información fue realizada por pares de forma independiente. Resultados: muestra de siete artículos publicados entre 2017 y 2022 en Australia, Canadá y Etiopía. Las tecnologías educativas digitales desarrolladas para los padres fueron aplicaciones móviles, recursos de eHealth y mensajes de texto. Estas tecnologías han contribuido a mejorar el acceso a la información, el intercambio de experiencias, la autoeficacia paterna para apoyar la lactancia materna, el conocimiento y la actitud sobre la alimentación infantil, consecuentemente, mejorando las tasas de lactancia materna. Conclusión: las tecnologías educativas digitales sobre lactancia materna, diseñadas para padres, están poco estudiadas. Sin embargo, son fundamentales para mejorar el apoyo paterno en la promoción de la lactancia materna, por lo que se necesita más investigación para el desarrollo de otras tecnologías digitales educativas para este público objetivo.


RESUMO Objetivo: analisar as contribuições das tecnologias educacionais digitais, concebidas para os pais, na promoção do aleitamento materno. Método: revisão de literatura, tipo integrativa, realizada em dezembro de 2022, após consultas eletrônicas nas bases de dados CINAHL, Web of Science, EMBASE, Medline, BDENF, IBECS e LILACS, sem restrição de idioma e de tempo de publicação. A seleção dos artigos e extração de informações foi realizada por pares de forma independente. Resultados: amostra de sete artigos publicados entre os anos de 2017 e 2022, na Austrália, no Canadá e na Etiópia. As tecnologias educacionais digitais desenvolvidas para os pais foram os aplicativos móveis, os recursos eHealth e as mensagens de texto. Essas tecnologias contribuíram para melhorar o acesso à informação, o compartilhamento de experiências, a autoeficácia paterna para apoiar o aleitamento materno, o conhecimento e a atitude sobre alimentação infantil, consequentemente, melhorando as taxas de Aleitamento Materno. Conclusão: as tecnologias educacionais digitais sobre aleitamento materno, concebidas para os pais, são pouco estudadas. No entanto, são fundamentais para melhorar o apoio paterno na promoção do aleitamento materno, portanto, mais pesquisas são necessárias para o desenvolvimento de outras tecnologias educacionais digitais para esse público-alvo.

Este estudo é parte de uma ampla investigação sobre a vivência do processo de adoção malsucedida de crianças e adolescentes sob a perspectiva dos adotantes. Foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa, com base em entrevistas semiestruturadas com 11 sujeitos independentes, nove mulheres e dois homens, moradores de diferentes estados do Brasil, que vivenciaram adoções malsucedidas. Buscamos analisar as percepções dos adotantes relacionadas à temporalidade no estabelecimento do vínculo parento-filial nessas adoções. A temporalidade da gestação simbólica foi vivenciada pelos participantes de diferentes formas, podendo ser afetada pela lentidão no processo administrativo e/ou por fantasias e idealizações referentes à origem da criança/adolescente. Tanto a demora quanto a tentativa de agilização do processo de adoção são fatores que podem gerar ansiedade na experiência da gestação simbólica e que não serão amparados no tempo cronológico, afetando o estabelecimento do vínculo parento-filial. Ressaltamos a relevância do cuidado nos períodos iniciais de construção do vínculo parento-filial, considerando a temporalidade particular de cada caso e a história pregressa da criança/adolescente, aspecto que influencia o sucesso do processo de adoção.(AU)


This study is part of a broad investigation about the experience of the unsuccessful adoption process of children and adolescents from the perspective of the adopters. Qualitative research was carried out, based on semi-structured interviews with 11 independent subjects, nine women and two men, living in different states of Brazil, who experienced unsuccessful adoptions. We seek to analyze the perceptions of adopters related to the temporality in establishing the parent-child bond in these adoptions. The temporality of the symbolic gestation was experienced by the participants in different ways, which can be affected by the slowness of the administrative process and/or by fantasies and idealizations regarding the origin of the child/adolescent. Both the delay and the attempt to speed up the adoption process are factors that can generate anxiety in the experience of symbolic gestation and that will not be supported in chronological time, affecting the establishment of the parent-child bond. The relevance of care stands out in the initial periods of parent-child bond construction considering the particular temporality of each case and the child's/adolescent's past history, aspect that influences the success of the adoption process.(AU)


Este estudio es parte de una extensa investigación sobre la experiencia del proceso fallido de adopción de niños y adolescentes desde la perspectiva de los adoptantes. Se realizó una investigación cualitativa a partir de entrevistas semiestructuradas con 11 sujetos independientes, nueve mujeres y dos hombres, residentes en diferentes estados de Brasil, que experimentaron adopciones fallidas. En este trabajo se analizan las percepciones de los adoptantes relacionadas con la temporalidad en el establecimiento del vínculo padre-hijo en adopciones fallidas. La temporalidad del embarazo simbólico fue vivida por los participantes de diferentes formas, las cuales pueden verse afectadas por la lentitud del proceso administrativo y por fantasías e idealizaciones sobre el origen del niño/adolescente. Tanto la demora como el intento de agilizar el proceso de adopción pueden generar ansiedad por la vivencia del embarazo simbólico y que no serán sustentados en el tiempo cronológico, lo que afecta establecer este vínculo. Se enfatiza la relevancia del cuidado en los períodos iniciales de construcción del vínculo considerando la temporalidad particular de cada caso y la historia pasada del niño/adolescente, un aspecto que influye en el éxito del proceso de adopción.(AU)

Ao contrário do vínculo mãe-filha(o), a relação pai-filha(o) tem recebido pouca atenção nos Transtornos Alimentares (TAs). Este estudo com desenho clínico-qualitativo objetivou compreender como pais de jovens com TAs vi,0 realizadas entrevistas semidirigidas com cinco pais cujas(os) filhas(os) estavam em tratamento. Os resultados foram analisados a partir da Análise de Conteúdo Clínico-Qualitativa e da Psicanálise das Configurações Vinculares. A relação pai-filha foi marcada por proximidade afetiva na infância, embora com pouco envolvimento com as tarefas de cuidado. O distanciamento afetivo, a partir do período pubertário da(o) filha(o), contribuiu para fragilizar o vínculo paterno. Os resultados fornecem subsídios para a inclusão dos pais no tratamento.


Unlike the mother-daughter bond, the father-daughter relationship has received little attention in eating disorders (ED). This study with clinical-qualitative method aimed to understand how parents of young people with ED experienced the bonds with their parental figures during childhood/adolescence and, later, with their wives and daughters. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five parents whose daughters were in treatment. The results were analyzed using the Clinical-Qualitative Content Analysis and the Psychoanalysis of Linking Configurations. The father-daughter relationship was marked by affective closeness in childhood, although with little involvement in caregiving tasks. The affective distancing, starting in the daughter's pubertal period, contributed to weaken the paternal bond. The results provide subsidies for the inclusion of fathers in the treatment.


Contrairement au lien mère-fille, la relation père-fille a reçu peu d'attention dans le domaine des troubles alimentaires (TA). Cette étude avec la méthode clinico-qualitative visait à comprendre comment les parents de jeunes atteints de troubles de l'élocution ont vécu les liens avec leurs figures parentales pendant l'enfance / adolescence et, plus tard, avec leurs épouses et leurs filles. Des entretiens semi-structurés ont été menés avec cinq parents dont les filles étaient en traitement. Les résultats ont été analysés sur la base de l'analyse de contenu clinico-quanitative et de la psychanalyse des configurations d'attachement. La relation père-fille était marquée par une proximité affective dans l'enfance, mais avec une faible implication dans les tâches de soins. La distanciation affective, dès la période de puberté de la fille, a contribué à affaiblir le lien paternel.


La relación padre-hija ha recibido poca atención en los trastornos alimentarios (TAs). Este estudio, con un diseño clínico-cualitativo, pretendía comprender cómo los padres de jóvenes con TAs experimentaban los vínculos con sus figuras parentales durante la infancia/adolescencia y, posteriormente, con sus esposas e hijas. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a cinco padres cuyas hijas estaban en tratamiento. Los resultados se analizaron a partir del Análisis de Contenido Clínico-Cualitativo y del Psicoanálisis de las Configuraciones de Apego. La relación padre-hija estuvo marcada por la cercanía afectiva en la infancia, aunque con poca implicación en las tareas de cuidado. El distanciamiento afectivo, a partir del período de pubertad de la hija, contribuyó a debilitar el vínculo paterno. Los resultados proporcionan subsidios para la inclusión de los padres en el tratamiento.

Introducción: En las instituciones de salud pediátrica, mediante intervenciones educativas, se promueven prácticas saludables, aumenta el conocimiento y se desarrollan las habilidades de los padres para el cuidado de los niños; sin embargo, existen pocos programas educativos disponibles en el área cardiovascular pediátrica en Perú. Objetivo: Evaluar la efectividad de un programa educativo sobre conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de cuidado en acompañantes de niños cardiópatas hospitalizados. Métodos: Estudio cuasiexperimental, de diseño pre-postest, realizado en 2020. Participaron 18 familiares acompañantes de niños hospitalizados en el Servicio de Cirugía de Tórax y Cardiovascular del Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño, Lima, Perú. Se desarrollaron cinco sesiones. Se empleó un cuestionario de conocimientos, una escala de actitudes y una lista de chequeo para evaluar las habilidades. Para determinar la efectividad durante la hospitalización, se realizó una evaluación previa y una evaluación posterior (una semana después de la culminación de las sesiones). Se utilizó la prueba de normalidad de Shapiro-Willks; además, para determinar la diferencia del puntaje se utilizaron las pruebas de U de Mann-Witney y T de Student. Resultados: El puntaje de los conocimientos aumentó de 10,94 a 22,33 puntos; el puntaje de actitudes, de 7,83 a 25,00 puntos; y las prácticas, de 49,89 a 87,94. Estas diferencias observadas entre la evaluación previa y posterior fueron significativas (p< 0,001). Conclusiones: La intervención educativa fue efectiva al incrementar los conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de cuidado en acompañantes de niños cardiópatas hospitalizados(AU)


Introduction: In pediatric health institutions, through educational interventions, healthy practices are promoted, knowledge is increased, and parents' skills for the care of children are developed; however, few educational programs are available in the pediatric cardiovascular area in Peru. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of an educational program on knowledge, attitudes and care practices in companions of hospitalized children with heart disease. Methods: A quasiexperimental, pretest-posttest design study was conducted in 2020. Eighteen family members participated, who were accompanying children hospitalized at the thoracic and cardiovascular surgery service of Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño, in Lima, Peru. Five sessions were held. A knowledge questionnaire, an attitude scale and a checklist were used to evaluate skills. To determine effectiveness during hospitalization, a pre-assessment and a post-assessment (one week after the completion of the sessions) were carried out. The Shapiro-Wilks normality test was used. Also, the Mann-Whitney U and Student's t tests were used to determine the difference in score. Results: The knowledge score increased from 10.94 to 22.33 points; the attitude score, from 7.83 to 25.00 points; and the practices score, from 49.89 to 87.94. These observed differences between pre-assessment and post-assessment were significant (p< 0.001). Conclusions: The educational intervention was effective, since it increased knowledge, attitudes and caring practices in companions of hospitalized cardiac children(AU)

Este estudo qualitativo teve como objetivo compreender a experiência vivenciada pelo cuidador da criança/adolescente que enfrenta uma doença limitante da vida. Para tanto, foram entrevistados seis pais de crianças e adolescentes que se encontravam hospitalizados, com diagnósticos variados, em sua maior parte por doenças onco-hematológicas. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada aplicada individualmente. A análise mostrou que, ao receber o diagnóstico da doença grave de um(a) filho(a) predominaram reações de surpresa, tristeza, desespero e relutância inicial em aceitar o diagnóstico. Sentimentos de medo, desconforto e vivências de culpa permearam a trajetória dos pais no adoecer do(a) filho(a). Crianças e adolescentes com diagnósticos limitantes da vida exigem tratamento intensivo e de alta complexidade tecnológica. A hospitalização aparece como um momento especialmente difícil para os pais, gerando fadiga crônica, esgotamento físico e emocional. Na percepção dos pais, a comunicação com os profissionais foi satisfatória, sendo vista como um fator positivo que contribui para amenizar as dificuldades de enfrentar as situações críticas. A experiência paterna frente à doença limitante da vida foi considerada um fator de mudança de vida. Esses resultados mostram a necessidade de intervenções psicológicas de apoio para auxiliarem os pais e demais familiares a enfrentarem os desafios encontrados.


This qualitative study aimed to understand the lived experience of the caregiver of a child/adolescent facing a life-limiting illness. To this end, six parents of children and adolescents who were hospitalized, with varied diagnoses, mostly due to onco-hematological diseases, were interviewed. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews applied individually. The analysis showed that, upon receiving the diagnosis of a child's serious disease, there were predominant reactions of surprise, sadness, despair, and initial reluctance to accept the diagnosis. Feelings of fear, discomfort, and experiences of guilt permeated the parents' trajectory in their child's illness. Children and adolescents with life-limiting diagnoses require intensive treatment and high technological complexity. Hospitalization appears as an especially difficult time for parents, generating chronic fatigue, physical and emotional exhaustion. In the perception of parents, communication with professionals was satisfactory, being seen as a positive factor that contributes to ease the difficulties of facing critical situations. The father's experience facing life limiting illness was considered a life changing factor. These results show the need for psychological support interventions to help parents and other family members to face the challenges encountered.


Este estudio cualitativo tenía como objetivo comprender la experiencia vivida por el cuidador de un niño/adolescente con una enfermedad que limita su vida. Se entrevistó a seis padres de niños y adolescentes hospitalizados, con diversos diagnósticos, en su mayoría debidos a enfermedades oncohematológicas. Los datos se recogieron mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas aplicadas individualmente. El análisis mostró que, al recibir el diagnóstico de una enfermedad grave del niño, predominaron las reacciones de sorpresa, tristeza, desesperación y reticencia inicial a aceptar el diagnóstico. Los sentimientos de miedo, malestar y experiencias de culpa impregnaron la trayectoria de los padres en la enfermedad de su hijo. Los niños y adolescentes con diagnósticos que limitan su vida requieren un tratamiento intensivo y una alta complejidad tecnológica. La hospitalización aparece como un momento especialmente difícil para los padres, generando fatiga crónica y agotamiento físico y emocional. En la percepción de los padres, la comunicación con los profesionales fue satisfactoria, siendo vista como un factor positivo que contribuyó a mitigar las dificultades para enfrentar situaciones críticas. La experiencia paterna de enfrentarse a una enfermedad que limita la vida se consideró un factor de cambio de vida. Estos resultados ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de realizar intervenciones de apoyo psicológico para ayudar a los padres y a otros miembros de la familia a enfrentarse a los retos encontrados.

Resumen: Objetivo: Analizar el papel del padre en el cuidado del neonato hospitalizado en una unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatal. Metodología: Se trata de un estudio de enfoque cualitativo con selección de muestreo abierto, saturación por conveniencia, entrevistas a 10 padres y 4 de ellas analizadas a través del programa Atlas Ti 8.0®, por medio de categorías y análisis de contenido. Resultados: Para hacer frente a la situación estresante de tener a su hijo en unidad de cuidados intensivos, los padres requieren capacitarse y aprender respecto de la condición de salud del niño, realizar constantemente introyección y autoanálisis reflexivo, profundizar en el componente espiritual y, como responsables económicos, enfocarse también en el trabajo. Conclusión: Se identificaron las habilidades del padre en el cuidado del neonato hospitalizado, tales como paciencia y pasión para realizar papel de padre. Se evidencia que el hombre tiene un papel fundamental en el cuidado del neonato.


Abstract: Goal. To analyze the role of the father in the care of the newborn hospitalized in a neonatal intensive care unit. Methodology. This is a qualitative approach study. The selection of open sampling, convenience saturation, interviewing 10 parents where at the end 4 were analyzed where the interviews were conducted in the Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). The data was analyzed using the Atlas Ti 8.0® program through categories and content analysis. Results. Parents need to face the stressful situation of having their child in an intensive care unit, train and learn about the baby's health condition, constantly carry out introjection and reflective self-analysis, delve into the spiritual component and also focus on the I work as financial manager. Conclusion. The father's skills in the care of the hospitalized newborn were identified, such as patience and passion to perform the role of father. It is evident that man has a fundamental role in the care of the newborn.


Resumo: Objetivo: Analisar o papel do pai no cuidado do recém-nascido hospitalizado em uma unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal. Metodologia: Este é um estudo de abordagem qualitativa com seleção aberta de amostras, saturação por conveniência, entrevistas com 10 pais e 4 deles analisados através do programa Atlas Ti 8.0®, por meio de categorias e análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Para lidar com a situação estressante de ter seu filho na unidade de terapia intensiva, os pais precisam treinar e aprender sobre a condição de saúde da criança, realizar constantemente introjeção e auto-análise reflexiva, aprofundar o componente espiritual e também focar em seu trabalho como financeiramente responsável. Conclusão: As habilidades do pai no cuidado do recém-nascido hospitalizado foram identificadas, tais como a paciência e a paixão para desempenhar o papel de pai. É evidente que os homens têm um papel fundamental no cuidado do recém-nascido.

The current vaccine development strategies for the COVID-19 pandemic utilize whole inactive or attenuated viruses, virus-like particles, recombinant proteins, and antigen-coding DNA and mRNA with various delivery strategies. While highly effective, these vaccine development strategies are time-consuming and often do not provide reliable protection for immunocompromised individuals, young children, and pregnant women. Here, we propose a novel modular vaccine platform to address these shortcomings using chemically synthesized peptides identified based on the validated bioinformatic data about the target. The vaccine is based on the rational design of an immunogen containing two defined B-cell epitopes from the spike glycoprotein of SARS-CoV-2 and the universal T-helper epitope PADRE. The epitopes were conjugated to short DNA probes and combined with a complementary scaffold strand, resulting in sequence-specific self-assembly. The immunogens were then formulated by conjugation to gold nanoparticles by three methods or by co-crystallization with epsilon inulin. BALB/C mice were immunized with each formulation, and the IgG immune responses and virus neutralizing titers were compared. The results demonstrate that this assembly is immunogenic and generates neutralizing antibodies against wildtype SARS-CoV-2 and the Delta variant.

ABSTRACT

Although parenting interventions including expectant fathers are scarce, they yield promising results. The Prenatal Video-feedback Intervention to promote Positive Parenting (VIPP-PRE) is a recently developed intervention, that is both manualized and personalized, aiming to enhance paternal sensitivity and involvement before the birth of the baby. Illustrating the intervention process, the current study presents two case studies of expectant fathers receiving VIPP-PRE (clinical trial registration NL62696.058.17). The VIPP-PRE program is described along with the individual dyads' prenatal video fragments and feedback specific for each father-fetus dyad. In addition, changes in paternal sensitivity and involvement levels are presented, as well as fathers' and intervener's evaluation of the intervention. VIPP-PRE promises to be a feasible short-term and potentially effective parenting intervention for expectant fathers. Currently, a randomized controlled trial (RCT) is under review that systematically investigates the efficacy of the VIPP-PRE. Here we aim to provide further information on the intervention process, as well as fathers' and intervener's evaluations of this process, and the benefits of using ultrasound imaging in a parenting intervention.


Aunque las intervenciones de crianza incluyendo a los papás en espera son escasas, las mismas producen resultados prometedores. La Intervención Prenatal de Información en Video para promover la Crianza Positiva (VIPP-PRE) es una intervención recientemente desarrollada, la cual es manejada a mano y personalizada, con el objetivo de mejorar la sensibilidad y la participación paterna antes del nacimiento del bebé. Demostrando el proceso de intervención, el presente estudio presenta dos casos de estudio de papás en espera que reciben VIPP-PRE (registro de ensayo clínico NL62696.058.17). El programa VIPP-PRE se describe junto con los fragmentos e información del video prenatal de las díadas individuales específicas para cada díada papá-feto. Adicionalmente, se presentan los cambios en los niveles de sensibilidad y participación paterna, así como también la evaluación de la intervención por parte de los papás y de quien condujo la intervención. VIPP-PRE promete ser una intervención de crianza factible a corto plazo y potencialmente efectiva para papás en espera. Actualmente, se encuentra bajo revisión un ensayo controlado al azar (RCT) que sistemáticamente investiga la efectividad de VIPP-PRE. Aquí nos proponemos ofrecer mayor información sobre el proceso de intervención, así como también las evaluaciones que del proceso hicieron los papás y quien condujo la intervención, y los beneficios de usar las imágenes de ultrasonido en una intervención de crianza.

L'Intervention de Retour-Vidéo Prénatale pour promouvoir le Parentage Positif (abrégé en anglais VIPP-PRE) est une intervention récemment développée. Elle est à la fois manualisée et personnalisée, se donnant pour but de renforcer la sensibilité et l'engagement avant la naissance du bébé. Illustrant le processus d'intervention cette étude présente deux études de cas de futurs pères recevant la CVIP-PRE (enregistrement des essais cliniques NL62696.058.17). Le programme VIPP-PRE est décrit ainsi que les fragments vidéo prénatale des dyades individuelles et le retour spécifique pour chaque dyade père-fœtus. De plus les changements dans la sensibilité paternelle et dans les niveaux d'engagement sont présentés, ainsi que l'évaluation des pères et des intervenants de l'intervention. La VIPP-PRE promet d'être une intervention de parentage viable à court terme et potentiellement efficace pour les futurs pères. Pour l'instant un essai contrôlé randomisé est à l'étude, étudiant systématiquement l'efficacité de la VIPP-PRE. Ici nous nous donnons pour but d'offrir des informations plus amples sur le processus d'intervention, ainsi que sur les évaluations du processus faites par les pères et les intervenants, et sur les bénéfices qu'il y a à utiliser les images ultrasons dans une intervention de parentage.
