ABSTRACT

China is an agricultural country, approximately producing more than 1000 million tons of crop straw in 2018. The utilization of straw as energy can replace fossil fuels, protect environment and guarantee energy security. Biomass fuel has been regarded as renewable energy with the characteristics of carbon-neutral, and low emissions of nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide. Biomass molded fuel (BMF), a major type of biomass fuel, has attracted particular attention. Currently, the BMF industry in China develops slowly. To achieve the rapid and healthy development of the industry, in this paper, a three-part standard system as fuel side, production and combustion equipment side and pollutant emission side is proposed to regulate the BMF market. Simultaneously, a policy system consisting of legislation, development plans and incentive measures also is introduced to maintain policy consistency and continuity.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To provide reference for perfecting the quality standard revision of TCM preparations in medical institutions, and improving the quality standard of TCM preparations in medical institutions. METHODS: By sorting out the quality standards of TCM preparations in Guangdong provincial medical institution preparation specification, this paper summarized the main problems and put forward suggestions for improvement. RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: There are 897 kinds of TCM preparations included in the Guangdong provincial medical institution preparation specification. The recent quality standards (2017 edition) have been greatly improved compared with those of the first edition (1985 edition); however, there are still some problems in the overall quality control of preparations, quantitative control of indicative components, project specificity, source control of medicinal materials, control of medicinal materials not included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and quality standards of the same series of varieties. It is suggested that on the premise of considering both advancement and applicability, the quality control of the whole, local and toxic preparations of TCM hospitals should be strengthened, the detection methods with good specificity and reproducibility should be properly updated, the control of key parameters of production process should be strengthened, the quality standard of TCM preparations in medical institutions should be fully improved, so as to provide the products with safe, effective and controllable in quality products in medical institutions.

ABSTRACT

A 'red line' was established, identifying an area requiring for ecological protection in Tianjin, China. Within the protected area of the red line area, the Qilihai wetland is an important ecotope with complex ecological functions, although the ecosystem is seriously disturbed due to anthropogenic activities in the surrounding areas. This study assesses the water quality status of the Qilihai wetlands to identify the pollution sources and potential improvements based on the ecological red line policy, to improve and protect the waters of the Qilihai wetlands. An indicator system was established to assess water quality status using single factor evaluation and a comprehensive evaluation method, supported by data from 2010 to 2013. Assessment results show that not all indicators met the requirement of the Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water (GB3838-2002) and that overall, waters in the Qilihai wetland were seriously polluted. Based on these findings we propose restrictions on all polluting anthropogenic activities in the red line area and implementation of restoration projects to improve water quality.
