ABSTRACT

Introduction: Highly cited published articles play a critical role in shaping clinical practice, research directions, and advancements in a specific field of science. The current comprehensive scoping review aimed to provide an overview of highly cited articles published in the "Iranian Endodontic Journal" (IEJ), based on the IEJ's H-index (=29); highlighting their key findings and prominent implications in the field of endodontics. Materials and Methods: A systematic search was conducted in Scopus database to identify the top 29 highly cited published articles. The articles were selected based on their citation count (h-index); reflecting their impact and influence within the scientific community. Data extraction was performed to gather relevant information; including authors, titles, publication years, and the main topic(s) of each article. Results: The selected highly cited published articles covered a broad range of endodontic topics; demonstrating the diversity and depth of research in the field. Key findings include significant contributions in vital pulp therapy, antimicrobial agents, root canal disinfection, regenerative techniques, cone-beam computed tomography applications, and intracanal medicaments. The distribution of research areas reflects the importance of evidence-based practice in clinical decision-making and patient care. Conclusions: These highly cited published articles have shown to have substantial impact on the field of endodontics. They have influenced clinical practice, guided research directions, and have improved patient care. The summary of key findings from each topic and the number of articles related to each area can provide readers with valuable insights into the distribution of research areas, and the significance of contributions made by the aforementioned highly cited published articles.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: This systematic review aimed to determine the improvement in quality of the reporting of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) in paediatric dentistry. The quality of reporting during the period 2014-2015 was compared with the quality of reporting during 1985-2006. METHODS: This systematic review compared the scientific quality of RCTs in paediatric dentistry published in five paediatric dentistry journals during the defined periods. The Consolidated Standards for Reporting Trials (CONSORT) checklist of 2010 was used to evaluate the quality of reporting. The inter-reviewers' agreement was assessed by calculating the kappa score, and disagreements between reviewers were resolved by consequent discussion. The p values and percentages were used to test for significant differences between the two reviews (1985-2006 and 2014-2015). RESULTS: A total of 40 articles were included. Although the quality of reporting showed considerable heterogeneity, the overall quality of reporting by RCTs was satisfactory and had improved over the years. CONCLUSIONS: Using CONSORT checklist, this study showed general improvement in the quality of reporting of RCTs published in pediatric dentistry journals in all article's sections.

ABSTRACT

This paper reviews the development history of the Chinese Journal of Health Policy (CJHP),analyzes articles published in the journal in the past 10 years, briefly summarizes the past practices and achievements, and forecasts the future development of the journal. From October 2008 to September 2018, the journal published a total of 1 547 papers in 120 issues. This paper analyzes the distribution of the topics, the recruitment of contributions, the affiliated institutions of first authors,as well as the proportion of fund papers and the influence factors. The proportion of fund papers published in the journal increased from 41. 03% in 2008 to 82. 79% in 2018; and according to CNKI statistics, the compound influence factor in 2017 was 1. 968,the five-year influence factor was 2. 613; and the H index in 2008-2018 was 42. Over the past 10 years, the journal had made great progress, achieved good results and accumulated some experience. Its academic quality has ranked in the forefront of disciplines, has won a good academic reputation, and had been highly recognized by readers and peers. Looking forward to the future, the journal will continue to adhere to the purpose of " spreading policies, researches on policies, and providing support for policymaking",adhere to the goal of establishing high-quality professional academic journals with important influence at home and abroad, and better play the role of high-end academic platform for the dissemination and exchange of health policy research results in China.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Using a bibliometric approach an analysis was made of the scientific publications of Spanish investigators in the area of optometry, from 1974 until 2013. METHODS: The EMBASE database was used for this study, employing optomtr*, optic*, visual, vision, eye*, and ophthalm* as search terms. The most common bibliometric indicators were applied for the selected publications. RESULTS: The number of published articles retrieved for Spain from 1974-2013 was 1,055. The growth of publications was more exponential (R=0.93) than linear (R= 0.71). The doubling time of scientific production was 3.63 years. The level of productivity primarily corresponded to small producers (Transience index of 64%). The collaboration index was 4.4 authors per paper. The majority of the output was generated in academic settings (62.27%). The Bradford core was formed by four journals, in which Optometry and Vision Science accounted for the majority of publications, with 11.85%. CONCLUSIONS: Research in the area of optometry in Spain is in a phase of exponential growth, containing a high level of transient authors, which may indicate either a low productivity or the presence of investigators from other related fields that have published in a sporadic manner in this area. A small number of research groups are responsible for producing the majority of articles, primarily in an academic setting. There is a high concentration of publications in a few journals.

ABSTRACT

Objective For providing a reference of the publishing in future, this paper explores the characteristics and laws of Researches in Medical Education by analyzing the published articles, authors and citation statistic situation of it. Methods With statistical method of bibliometric, this paper analyzes 615, published in the journal in 2010 in three aspects of papers, authors and quotations. Specific indicators include the published paper amount, fund projects, columns, co-authors, distribution of authors, citing quantity, citing types, citing language and the comparative analysis of indicators. Results The number of paper published in this journal in 2010 is 615. Total number of pages is 1728. The average pages of paper is 2.18. Article density is 0.36 article / page. Teaching reform and clinical teaching as the main sections account for 19.51% and 16.75% in the published paper amount. The total number of authors is 2084. No author and sole author paper is 87, co-author papers is 528, co-author rate is 85.85%. Cooperation degree is 3.39 person / article. The number of citations is 4331. The average number of citations in each article is 7.04, citation rate is 99.51%. Conclusion This journal is informative, focused, rich in column, and having a significant impact on the country, but there are some shortages such as the slightly lower number of citation and less foreign citation.
