ABSTRACT

The rapid development of social reform and the economy has brought great challenges to the mental health of college students. However, there are few studies on the impact of these psychological problems on college students' English learning. As a special group about to enter society, studying the mental health of college students in foreign language learning is of great significance. This paper discusses the principle of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and the interactive mechanism to support college students' foreign language learning. Additionally, the adaptability supporting college students' foreign language learning is analyzed according to the current situation of AI supporting foreign language learning. Then, the mental health of college students in the AI environment is investigated and analyzed. This paper takes foreign and non-foreign language majors of Changchun University of Technology as the object and uses questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observation to obtain basic data. The results show that college students' adaptability to foreign language learning is higher than that of non-foreign. Students' intelligent operation and knowledge storage level impact their adaptability to foreign language learning. Psychological health problems include learning anxiety, loneliness, depression, and inferiority in college students' foreign language learning. These negative emotions, to a certain extent, affect the learning effect of college students' foreign language learning. This paper is of great significance to the adaptability of college students' foreign language learning to the intelligent environment and the analysis of their mental health problems. This paper hopes to provide data reference for the research on improving college students' foreign language learning effects.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Workplace violence among nurses has emerged as a critical issue, posing a significant threat to their occupational safety. Education and training are the primary measures employed to prevent and respond to workplace violence. However, the current approaches have proven ineffective, possibly due to a lack of consideration for the specific needs of clinical nurses. Therefore, it is essential to explore the effectiveness of an informational education and training platform tailored to nurses' requirements. This study aimed to investigate the impact of such a platform on the incidence, severity, and coping resources of WPV in nurses. METHODS: This research was a quasi-experimental study. An information-based education and training platform focused on nurse workplace violence was developed through literature reviews, expert meetings, consultations with software development companies, and a trial run. A tertiary general hospital in Suzhou was selected, in which hospital district A was the intervention group and hospital district B was the control group. A total of 276 nurses were recruited, 140 in the intervention group and 136 in the control group. The nurses' incidence, severity, coping resources status, and evaluation of the application were measured before the intervention and at 1, 3, and 6 months after the intervention. RESULTS: The overall incidence of workplace violence, verbal aggression, and verbal threat among nurses showed statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) for the time effect, while the incidence of physical aggression demonstrated statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) for the between-group effect and the time effect. The severity of physical violence among nurses exhibited statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) for the between-group effect and time effect, and the severity of psychological violence showed statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) for the time effect. Nurses' total coping resources score and dimensions also showed statistically significant differences in terms of group, time, and interaction effects (P < 0.001). The evaluation questionnaire for the mobile application indicated usefulness scores of 2 (1, 2); ease of learning scores of 2 (1, 2); ease of use scores of 2 (1, 2); trust scores of 2 (1, 2.75); acceptance score of 1 (1, 2); and satisfaction scores of 2 (1, 2). CONCLUSIONS: Implementing the nurse workplace violence information-based education and training platform proved beneficial in reducing the incidence and severity of workplace violence among nurses and enhancing their coping resources. This outcome suggested the platform's potential for further application and promotion in clinical settings.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Civilian nurses have gradually become the main body of military nurses. Our study aimed to understand their occupational happiness and its influencing factors. METHODS: This descriptive study was conducted with 319 civilian nurses working in 15 military hospitals in China. Based on literature review, expert consultation and combined with the characteristics of civilian positions, this study developed a questionnaire on occupational happiness of civilian nurses in military hospitals. The questionnaire includes 7 dimensions as follows: work emotion, salary, work environment, professional identity, work output, interpersonal relationship, wellbeing. The demographic questionnaire and occupational well-being questionnaire of civilian nurses in military hospitals were analysed by t-test, analysis of variance and Pearson correlation analysis. RESULTS: The occupational happiness score (3.83 ± 0.56, upper limit score: 5) was at the upper middle level. There were significant differences in occupational well-being by gender (t = -2.668, p = 0.008), age (F = 5.085, p = 0.007) and the type of city where the hospital was located (F = 15.959, p < 0.0001). The happiness score of females (3.94 ± 0.60) was higher than that of males (3.47 ± 0.54). Nurses who were over 41 years old had the highest occupational happiness. Compared with nurses younger than 30 years old, the p value was 0.004. The occupational happiness of nurses in hospitals in a "prefecture-level city" (p < 0.0001) and a "sub-provincial city" (p < 0.0001) was significantly higher than that of nurses in hospitals in a "municipality directly under the central government". Correlation analysis showed that the higher the nurses' satisfaction with professional identity, work output, work environment, salary, and interpersonal relationships, the higher their occupational happiness. CONCLUSION: Occupational happiness of civilian nurses in Chinese military hospitals was above the medium level. Gender, age, and the type of city where the hospital was located had a very significant impact on the level of occupational happiness. In addition, "professional identity", "work output", "work environment", "salary", and "interpersonal relationships" were significantly correlated with the occupational happiness of civilian nurses. They can be improved with some future lines of research.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: This study aimed to explore the impact that coping styles and social support have on the mental health of medical students by constructing a corresponding structural situation model that reveals the complex relationship between these three factors. In doing so, it seeks to help medication students better manage mental health problems. Patients and Methods: The online study was conducted between March 6, 2021 and May 6, 2021. A total of 318 participants from multiple medical schools were involved. The general information questionnaire, simple coping style questionnaire (SCSQ), perceived social support scale (PSSS) and symptom checklist 90 (SCL-90) were used to collect relevant information from the subjects by snowball sampling. An independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient analysis, and intermediary effect analysis were all used to analyze the relevant data and construct the structural equation model. Results: There was a significant difference in SCL-90 between medical students and national college students (1.78±0.70, P < 0.001), and the positive rate of mental health status was as high as 40.3%. Sleep quality, regular diet, and positive coping style were positively correlated with mental health (P < 0.01), while negative coping styles and total scores of coping style as well as family, friends, and other sources of social support and total scores of social support were negatively correlated with mental health problems (P < 0.01). Positive and negative coping styles have an impact on mental health through the mediating effect of between social support and coping styles, as well as in the direct pathway. Conclusion: The mental health status of medical students was significantly poor. Medical schools should thus pay close attention to the mental health status of students and encourage them to develop healthy living habits, optimize coping styles, and establish stable sources of social support to improve their psychological wellbeing.

ABSTRACT

Under the new background of the explosive growth of digital economy and the deep integration of real economy, how to improve the performance level through digital transformation has become the key for enterprises to achieve high-quality development. Based on the embeddedness theory and the upper echelons theory, this paper studies the logic and mechanism of network embeddedness affecting enterprise performance, in order to describe the pre-motivations and complete influencing paths of digital transformation affecting enterprise performance, and promote enterprises to achieve high-quality development by means of digital transformation. Taking the middle and senior managers of 239 enterprises as the research objects, this paper applies hierarchical regression, bootstrap and other analysis methods for empirical test, and draws the following conclusions: (1) Relational embeddedness and cognitive embeddedness have a positive impact on digital transformation, while structural embeddedness has no significant impact on digital transformation. (2) Digital transformation has a significant positive impact on enterprise performance. (3) Digital transformation plays a significant mediating role between relational embeddedness, cognitive embeddedness and enterprise performance. (4) In the context of top managerial cognition, cognitive embeddedness can better improve enterprise performance through digital transformation. These results extend the previous literature on digital transformation, proves that digital transformation has a positive effect on enterprise performance. Meanwhile, top managerial cognition is conducive to shaping the dynamic capability of enterprises, and thus plays an important moderating role in the influence path of digital transformation on enterprise performance. This study further affirms the important role of top managerial cognition, which is conducive to enriching enterprises' digital practices and improving enterprise performance.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVES: To understand the perceptions of doctors, patients and forensic examiners on the current situation of medical disputes and medical damage identification in China, and to explore the medical damage identification model that is more conducive for the resolution of medical disputes. METHODS: A questionnaire was designed, and in-service clinicians, forensic examiners and inpatients in Sichuan Province and Chongqing City were randomly selected from April to November 2019. SPSS 22.0 software was used to analyze the data of various survey results. RESULTS: Compared with patients (24.92%), doctors (61.72%) believed that the current doctor-patient relationship was more tense than before; both doctors and patients were more inclined to choose voluntary consultation and people's mediation to resolve medical disputes; forensic examiners have the highest level of cognition of medical and health-related laws and regulations, followed by doctors and patients; 66.72% of doctors and 78.41% of patients believed that medical damage identification was necessary, and they were more inclined to entrust forensic identification institutions; different groups all believed that forensic examiners and doctors should participate in the identification together, 80.94% of doctors believed that the appraisal institutions should be responsible for the forensic opinion, not the appraiser. CONCLUSIONS: It is suggested that the Medical Association identification and forensic identification should learn from each other and formulate basic unified rules for the identification of medical damage. It is suggested to standardize the behavior of medical damage forensic identification institutions and appraisers, to improve their own appraisal level, actively invite clinical medical experts for consultation in identification, and promote the standardized, scientization of forensic identification.

ABSTRACT

The number of awake craniotomies is increasing because of its beneficial features. However, not enough information is available regarding the current status of awake craniotomy in Japan. To evaluate the current status of awake craniotomy in institutes, a nationwide questionnaire survey was conducted. From June to August 2019, we conducted a questionnaire survey on awake craniotomy in the neurosurgery department of 45 institutes that perform awake craniotomies in Japan. Responses were obtained from 39 institutes (response rate, 86.7%). The main methods of awake craniotomy were almost the same in all institutes. Twenty-six institutes (66.7%) had fewer than 10 awake craniotomies (low-volume institutes) per year, and 13 high-volume institutes (33.3%) performed more than 10 awake craniotomies annually. Some institutes experienced a relatively high frequency of adverse events. In 11 institutes (28.2%), the frequency of intraoperative seizures was more than 10%. An intraoperative seizure frequency of 1%-9%, 10%-29%, and over 30% was identified in 12 (92%), 0 (0%), and 1 (8%) of the high-volume institutes, which was significantly less than in 16 (62%), 10 (38%), and 0 (0%) of the low-volume institutes (p = 0.0059). The routine usage of preoperative antiepileptic drugs was not different between them, but the old type was used more often in the low-volume institutes (p = 0.0022). Taken together, the annual number of awake craniotomies was less than 10 in over two-thirds of the institutes. Fewer intraoperative seizures were reported in the high-volume institutes, which tend not to preoperatively use the old type of antiepileptic drugs.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the concerns of adult patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in the chronic phase receiving tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) therapy in China. Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire including 23 issues of concern was filled by patients with CML nationwide from August to September 2021. The results were compared with those from 2015 to 2016. Results: Data from 952 questionnaires were analyzed. The five most concerned issues were "TKI-related adverse effects and management" (66%) , "stopping TKI therapy" (46%) , "CML risk assessment" (46%) , "TKI dose reduction" (42%) , and "restrictions in daily life activities" (41%) . Compared with the results from 2015 to 2016, patients paid more attention to "TKI-related adverse effects and management" , "monitoring" , and "interpretation of laboratory reports" (all P<0.01) . Concerns of "TKI reimbursement policies" , "price reduction of TKIs" , and issues related to generic TKIs decreased significantly (all P<0.01) . Multivariate analysis showed that female patients (OR=1.8, 95% CI 1.4-2.5, P<0.001) , elderly patients (OR=1.0, 95% CI 1.0-1.0, P<0.001) , or patients with bachelor's degree or higher (OR=1.8, 95% CI 1.3-2.4, P<0.001) were more concerned with "TKI dose reduction" than others. Patients with a bachelor's degree or higher (OR=1.6, 95% CI 1.2-2.2, P=0.002) paid more attention to "CML risk assessment" , whereas those currently receiving a second- or third-generation TKI therapy (OR=1.9, 95% CI 1.3-2.6, P<0.001) were more concerned about "TKI resistance" . Conclusion: Patients with CML paid the most attention to "TKI-related adverse effects and management" , "stopping TKI therapy" , "CML risk assessment" , "TKI dose reduction" , and "restrictions in daily life activities" . Patients' sociodemographic covariates and treatment status were associated with their concerns.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore the potential related factors of falls and provide a reference plan for preventing falls for the middle-aged and elderly people. METHODS: From November 2017 to July 2018, a total of 1 642 middle-aged and elderly people from 10 communities in Chaoyang District and Fengtai District of Beijing were interviewed by questionnaires. The contents of the questionnaire included the subjects basic information, life style, basic diseases and eating habits. The relationship between various factors and falls was preliminarily analyzed by t-test and Chi-square test. The possible influencing factors of falls in the surveyed population were further analyzed by Logistic regression. RESULTS: A total of 1 540 subjectswere included, including, 415 men and 1 125 women. Their average age was(63.02±7.15) years. The incidence of falls in recent one year was 12.14%(187 / 1 540). According to Chi-square test, there was a statistically significant difference in bone mineral density, age, fracture history and other factors between the two groups (P<0.05 ). According to Logistic regression analysis, age (OR= 1.048, 95%CI=1.015-1.082), hips size (OR=1.034, 95%CI=1.001-1.067), heavy drinking (OR=29.422, 95%CI=5.226-189.378) may be a risk factor for falls. And edible eggs(OR=0.423, 95%CI=0.184-0.972), beef (OR=0.064, 95%CI=0.006-0.634) and better muscle strength(OR=0.936, 95%CI=0.906-0.992) may be a protective factor for falls. In addition, suffering from diabetes(OR=1.461, 95%CI=1.006-2.213) may also increase the risk of falls in this population. CONCLUSION: For middle aged and elderly people, avoiding heavy drinking, eating more eggs, vegetables, and active strength exercise can effectively prevent falls. And people with family history of fracture and diabetes should pay more attention to the prevention of falls.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the trajectory of breast reconstruction in patients with breast cancer at different stages of treatment and to provide reference for medical staff to intervene in breast reconstruction and improve breast reconstruction rate. Methods:During February 2017-October 2017, 192 female patients with breast cancer (aged 20-64 years, mean 49.7 years) were selected by self-designed breast reconstruction demand questionnaire. They were checked up in the diagnosis period, after chemotherapy without chemotherapy, after chemotherapy, and after the completion of chemotherapy. Results:The demand rates for breast reconstruction during the diagnosis period, the period without chemotherapy after mastectomy, the middle period of chemotherapy and after chemotherapy were 10.4%, 13.4%, 16.7% and 17.7% respectively. The main reasons why patients were unwilling to choose breast reconstruction were that patients were worried that breast reconstruction would affect the integrity of cancer resection and worried about cancer recurrence and metastasis. Patients who were unwilling to breast reconstruction planned to choose breast prosthesis, and the difference was statistically significant ( P<0.05). Menopause was the influencing factor of breast reconstruction demand. Conclusions:After chemotherapy, patients have the highest demand rate for breast reconstruction, and more patients are willing to choose the breast reconstruction method of prosthesis implantation. This period is the best period for medical staff to recommend breast reconstruction treatment.

ABSTRACT

Low illumination is a special driving condition that negatively affects drivers' vision, information acquisition (IA) ability, distance recognition and risk perception. This study evaluated drivers' car-following behaviours and characteristics using questionnaire-based research conducted among 214 drivers in Hefei. In this study, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was used to determine the factor structure of the scale, and the internal consistency of all factors was good. The results show that low illumination strongly influences drivers' following behaviour and that they tend to choose safe and conservative ways to follow leading vehicles. Street lights are beneficial, aiding drivers' IA and their grasp of surrounding or distant environments. Myopic drivers performed worse in car following when driving in a low illumination environment, regardless of the presence of street lights. Drivers with astigmatism performed worse when street lights were present. Drivers who reported more aberrant behaviours were more aggressive when driving and tended to adopt shorter following distances at night. Practitioner summary: This study developed two scales to evaluate drivers' car-following behaviours and characteristics. A total of 214 drivers participated in the survey. Low illumination strongly influences drivers' following behaviour. Drivers who reported more aberrant behaviours were more aggressive when driving and tended to adopt shorter following distances at night.

ABSTRACT

The high turnover rate of new generation employees is becoming an increasingly important issue for business and academia. Based on self-determination theory and conservation of resource theory, our study explores the impact of the inclusive talent development model on the turnover intention of new generation employees and the mediating role of work passion. Based on the questionnaire of 290 new generation employees' data from China, after common method biases and reliability and validity tests, we used SPSS, Mplus and bootstrapping for empirical analysis. The result showed that the inclusive talent development model includes the diversified talent team construction, rational tolerance of employee's opinions and failures, emphasis on employee's training, emphasis on fairness and win-win and emphasis on employee's advantages. The work passion has been divided into harmonious passion and obsessive passion. Among them, rational tolerance of employee's opinions and failures, emphasis on employee's training and emphasis on fairness and win-win have a significant positive impact on harmonious passion. Emphasis on fairness and win-win and emphasis on employee's advantages have negative correlation with obsessive passion. The employee's harmonious passion is significantly negatively correlated with the turnover intention and the obsessive passion is significantly positively correlated with the turnover intention. In addition, the harmonious passion plays a mediating role between rational tolerance of employee's opinions and failures, emphasis on employee's training, emphasis on fairness and win-win and employee's turnover intention, while the obsessive passion plays a mediating role between emphasis on fairness and win-win and emphasis on employee's advantages and employee's turnover intention.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for helping poor patients with chronic diseases to get rid of poverty and enjoy drug welfare. METHODS :A overall general questionnaire was designed and conducted in Lianyungang City and Changzhou City of Jiangsu Province ,and then conducted formal investigation in Gansu ,Hebei and Sichuan. Factor analysis was used to analyze the survey results ,and the drug welfare effects of 4 kinds of chronic diseases were scored ,the difference and main influential factors of drug welfare effect for different chronic disease patients were found out. RESULTS :A total of 745 questionnaires were sent out , and 721 effective questionnaires were finally collected ,with an effective recovery rate of 96.8%. Factor analysis results showed that the drug welfare effect of patients with chronic diseases can be divided into 5 dimensions such as drug health effect ,drug fair effet, drug price effect ,drug availability effect and personal economic level effect. The average score of comprehensive drug welfare effect of chronic disease patients was 2.56(general). The average scores of comprehensive drug welfare effects in patients with diabetes, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases ,chronic respiratory system diseases and malignant tumors were 3.12(good), 2.73(general),2.56(general)and 1.90(poor). The key factors influencing the drug welfare of the patients with chronic diseases were health effect ,drug fair effect ,and drug price effect. CONCLUSIONS :In formulating relevant policies ,the state should take drug health effect ,drug fair effect ,drug price effect and drug availability of chronic diseases into consideration ,and formulate more comprehensive and effective drug policy.

ABSTRACT

Objective: Clinical analysis of sequelae of 16 patients with trimethyltin chloride (TMT) poisoning after 2 years. Methods: Sixteen patients with TMT poisoning from a waste recycling company in Ganzhou City in August 2016 were enrolled. They were investigated by questionnaires and assessed by various scales after two years. 6 cases of severe poisoning were examined by head MRI. The scale includes Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) , Depression Scale (HAMD) , Simple Mental State Examination Scale (MMSE) , Activity of Daily Living (ADL) , International Cooperative Ataxia Rating Scale (ICARS) . Results: 16 cases of TMT poisoning still have headache, dizziness and other symptoms. Instability of walking in 4 patients with severe poisoning, and the brain MRI manifestations included obvious atrophy of temporal lobe, hippocampus, insula lobe, cerebellum and ventricle enlargement. Two patients were rated as severe mixed anxiety and depression, one as moderate mixed anxiety and depression, and one as mild anxiety. 3 cases were diagnosed as dementia and 1 case as mild cognitive impairment. Two cases were totally dependent on living ability. ICARS scores were 66 points and 63 points respectively. Two cases were mildly dependent on living ability. ICARS scores were 28 points and 6 points respectively. There were 2 cases of mild mixed anxiety and depression in mild and moderate poisoning patients, and 1 case of mild cognitive impairment in each patient. They could live independently. ICARS scores were 0. Conclusion: After 2 years of TMT poisoning, some patients still have general clinical symptoms such as dizziness, headache and so on. There are also mental and intellectual symptoms such as anxiety, depression and cognitive impairment. Some of patients with severe poisoning presented with dementia and cerebellar ataxia, and even lost independent living ability.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To explore the situation of knowledge-attitude-practice of medication (shorted for medication KAP) of elderly patients with chronic diseases and its relationship with depression mood. METHODS: Through using scale of medication KAP in elderly adults with chronic diseases and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS), a face to face questionnaire survey was conduceed among elderly patients with chronic diseases examined in two community service centers of Lanzhou. The Pearson correlation analysis was used to verify the correlation between the score of medication KAP and the score of depression mood, and multivariate stepwise linear regression was used to analyze the influential factors (including the items in the general data table and depression mood with statistical significance after single factor analysis) of the score of medication KAP. RESULTS: Totally 300 questionnaires were sent out, and 289 valid questionnaires were returned with effective feedback rate of 96.3%. The results of questionnaire investigation showed the average score of the KAP was (31.12±6.20); the scores of medication knowledge, attitude and practice was (18.39±4.85), (3.18±1.24) and (9.55±2.08), respectively. The average score of depression mood was (39.99±6.06), compared with 48.4% (140 patients) with depressive symptoms. Pearson correlation analysis showed that the score of medication knowledge (r=-0.356), the score of medication compliance (r=-0.465) and the score of medication KAP (r=     -0.490) were negatively correlated with depression mood (all P<0.01). Multiple stepwise regression analysis indicated that the score of the KAP were affected by depression mood and demographic factors including family occupation, detailed monthly income in a family, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: In the community, the level of the medication KAP in elderly patients is mainly affected by depression mood and also by demographic factors. In the work of health care education for elderly patients with chronic diseases, medical staff should pay more attention to patients with depression mood and timely take targeted nursing measures to improve the level of the medication KAP.
