ABSTRACT
The monotypic genus Chaethippus Duda is revised, including the description of four new species from South America and a key to all species. Detailed illustrations of morphological features are also given using light and scanning electron microscopy. The affinities of Chaethippus within Oscinellinae are briefly addressed.

The five Central American and Mexican species belonging to the Curtonotum murinum species complex are described as Curtonotum abrelatas Lindsay sp. nov., C. irksum Lindsay sp. nov., C. notatum Lindsay sp. nov., C. prolixum Lindsay sp. nov. and C. transitus Lindsay sp. nov. Photographic images, a distribution map of species and an identification key are provided.

The Neotropical species of Curtonotidae are updated and catalogued. A total of 33 species names are listed, including two fossil taxa and one nomem dubium. Valid and invalid names and synonyms are presented, totaling 45 names. Bibliographic references are given to all listed species, including information about name, author, year of publication, page number, type species and type locality. Lectotype and paralectotypes are designated to Curtonotum punctithorax (Fischer, 1933). Curtonotum simplex Schiner, 1868 stat. rev. is recognized as a valid name.(AU)
ABSTRACT
A new species of Cladochaeta Coquillett (Diptera: Drosophilidae) is described, C. caxiuana sp. nov. from the Brazilian Amazon, based on 10 male and 10 female specimens obtained from nymphs of Sphodroscarta trivirgata (Amyot Serville, 1843) (Hemiptera: Auchenorrhyncha: Aphrophoridae). The female of Cladochaeta atlantica Pirani Amorim, 2016 is described based on specimens reared from spider egg sacs of the spider Cryptachaea migrans (Keyserling, 1884) (Araneae: Theridiidae) obtained in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. This is the first record of this fly genus attacking a spider egg sac. The species Cladochaeta sororia (Williston, 1896) is recorded for the first time from Brazil, based on specimens collected in an urban garden in the Amazon. In addition, an unidentified female specimen of Cladochaeta Coquillett, 1900 was obtained from the cocoon of a spider wasp of the genus Notocyphus Smith (Hymenoptera: Pompilidae).

ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT The genus Neogriphoneura Malloch, 1924 is currently composed of 11 species with New World distribution. Neogriphoneura timida Curran, 1942 is recorded for the first time in South America, with occurrences in Brazil, Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago; and new Central American records are presented: Belize, Honduras and Mexico. Here we redescribe the species and present, for the first time, illustrations of the male terminalia and female spermathecae, and discuss the main diagnostic characteristics of external morphology. A brief discussion about the postcopulatory sexual selection in this species is proposed based on morphology of the spermathecae.
ABSTRACT
Lauxaniidae is one of the largest Diptera Schizophora families, worldwide in distribution, very common in tropical areas. The family comprises about 1,550 species. Adults may be small to moderately large (2-11 mm), varied in color patterns, often with marks, spots, bands, or reticulating patterns. Larval lauxaniids are widely documented as saprophages, feeding in a diverse array of decaying plant matter, and even feeding in flower heads. Adults are fungal grazers on leaves. The Brazilian fauna of lauxaniids comprises at the moment 74 species of which 8 have been recorded from the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.(AU)

Cypselosomatidae is composed of Cypselosomatinae and Pseudopomyzinae, including 11 extant genera. Only the genus Rhinopomyzella Hennig (Pseudopomyzinae) has been previously recorded from Brazil, represented by two species from Santa Catarina. The genus Pseudopomyzella Hennig is comprised of a single species, Pseudopomyzella flava Hennig, previously found only in Peru and Ecuador. Here, we report P. flava for the first time from Brazil (Pará) and redescribe the species based on the specimens collected.
