ABSTRACT

In recent years, due to the increase in their global popularity, short video applications have become an important topic of research. The number of users has now exceeded one billion in China; accordingly, Chinese researchers have conducted many studies on short videos. Their findings can serve as important references for both theoretical research on and the practical development of short videos worldwide. In this study, we used bibliometrics method and the CiteSpace application to analyze the content of 2163 representative research papers on short videos published in China from 2012 to 2022. The number of such papers is increasing annually in China; moreover, several core groups of authors and research institutions focusing on short video research have already been formed. Some popular topics of research on these videos include the main characteristics of short videos, phenomenon of media convergence based on short videos, and application scenarios of short videos. Over the years, research on the popular short video application Douyin has been increasing, as well. The research results indicate that issues such as the marketing of short knowledge videos, standardized management of short video platforms, and impact of these videos on the education of college students are expected to become popular subjects of scholarly research in the near future.

ABSTRACT

Screening and evaluating the diseases responding specifically to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) will help to highlight the advantages of TCM treatment, and the evaluation method should be standardized with consideration to the unique characteristics of the diseases. The incidence of Sjögren's Syndrome (SS) is increasing year by year, while the pathogenesis of this disease remains unclear. Modern therapies for this disease include biological agents and immunosuppressants, which generally have unsatisfactory efficacy. The TCM treatment of SS focuses on the harmony of the physical and mental health. The Rheumatology Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine organizes experts in TCM, Western medicine, and evidence-based medicine to form working groups. Delphi method and bibliometric method were used for analysis, and SS was selected as a disease responding specifically to TCM. Furthermore, the evaluation system was established for this disease, and the consensus regarding this disease was reached after seminar discussion. This paper summarized the whole process of the evaluation of the advantages of TCM treatment of SS. First, because TCM atomization is widely used in clinical practice and enriches TCM administration methods, this therapy is included after other non-drug therapies were taken as characteristic therapies. Second, the evaluation indicators of therapeutic effect should be determined with consideration to international acceptance and the current research status. Third, the expression method should be accurate, standardized, and objective, highlight the natural advantages of TCM, and avoid arbitrary extension. This paper provides a reference for clinicians to explore other diseases responding specifically to TCM.

ABSTRACT

A bibliometric analysis of current research, hotspots, and development trends was used to develop an overall framework of mechanisms of alpine grassland degradation on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This investigation includes data from 1,330 articles on alpine grassland degradation on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, acquired from the Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) and Web of Science Core Collection (WOS). Research was divided into three themes: spatial scope and management of typical grassland degradation problems, dynamic mechanisms of grassland degradation and effects of ecological engineering, and grassland degradation risk based on remote sensing technology. The results of the analysis showed that the research can be summarized into three aspects: typical grassland degradation identification, dynamic mechanism analysis of grassland degradation, and grassland ecosystem stability strategy. The main findings can summarized, as follows: (1) Ecological analyses using the river source as a typical region defined the formation of "black soil beach" type degraded grasslands in the region, and promoted the ecological environment management and protection of the alpine grassland by discussing the causes of regional ecological environment changes; (2) Dynamic mechanism analyses of climate change and characteristics analyses of grassland vegetation-soil degradation revealed that alpine grassland degradation is the result of multiple main factors; and (3) Risk prediction methods for grassland degradation, methods of grassland management and sustainable countermeasures for agriculture and animal husbandry development, and the development of a comprehensive index of influencing factors on grassland degradation all indicate that selecting the right grassland restoration measures is the key to grassland restoration. Remote sensing monitoring and high-throughput sequencing technology should be used in future research on grassland ecosystems. In addition, multiscale, multidimensional, and multidisciplinary systematic research methods and long-term series data mining could help identify the characteristics and causes of alpine grassland system degradation. These findings can help identify a more effective coordination of landscape, water, lake, field, forest, grass, and sand management for the prevention of alpine grassland degradation.

ABSTRACT

Gambling as a risk factor in youth development, particularly its causes and consequences, has been the subject of a growing number of studies. However, the literature relating to young people has yet to be compiled in a systematic form. The present study adopts a descriptive bibliometric approach to map global research on gambling in young people using metadata from the Web of Science database. The results show that research on gambling in young people at a country level has increased in recent years, though some regions are underrepresented. Co-occurrence analysis revealed the frequent use of several terms. It is hoped that these findings will assist in future research on the subject.

ABSTRACT

With the growth of global food demand, agricultural carbon emissions caused by agricultural production have become a major challenge in controlling global warming. However, a systematic and visual literature review of food security and carbon emissions (FSCE) is still lacking, and there is a lack of exploration on the balanced path between ensuring food security and realizing carbon emission reduction. Based on 872 articles related to FSCE in the Web of Science (WOS) core database, this paper used CiteSpace and VOSviewer bibliometric software to analyze the relevant research focus and trends. This study found that developed countries dominated the research in this field, and the quantity, quality, and intensity of their authors, institutions, and cooperation among countries are higher than those of developing countries. Although the intensity of interdisciplinary cooperation has increased, it remains at a low level. Since 2007, the number of papers published in this field has increased significantly, and the research perspectives have diversified. Moreover, the research theme continues to expand with the core of "food security," involving the impact of climate change, crop production and food security, soil carbon sequestration, and farmers' livelihood sustainability. In addition, food production, food transportation, and food loss reduction are key paths that need to be balanced to ensure global food security and realize carbon emission reduction, and how to promote "economic growth" under the constraints of FSCE will be a future research hotspot.

ABSTRACT

Replacing fossil fuels with bioenergy is crucial to achieving sustainable development and carbon neutrality. To determine the priorities and developing trends of bioenergy technology, related publications from 2000 to 2020 were analyzed using bibliometric method. Results demonstrated that the number of publications on bioenergy increased rapidly since 2005, and the average growth rate from 2005 to 2011 reached a maximum of 20% per year. In terms of publication quantity, impact, and international collaboration, the USA had been leading the research of bioenergy technology, followed by China and European countries. Co-occurrence analysis using author keywords identified six clusters about this topic, which are "biodiesel and transesterification", "biogas and anaerobic digestion", "bioethanol and fermentation", "bio-oil and pyrolysis", "microalgae and lipid", and "biohydrogen and gasification or dark fermentation". Among the six clusters, three of them relate to liquid biofuel, attributing that the liquid products of biomass are exceptional alternatives to fossil fuels for heavy transportation and aviation. Lignocellulose and microalgae were identified as the most promising raw materials, and pretreating technologies and efficient catalysts have received special attention. The sharp increase of "pyrolysis" and "gasification" from 2011 to 2020 suggested that those technologies about thermochemical conversion have been well studied in recent years. Some new research trends, such as applying nanoparticles in transesterification, and hydrothermal liquefaction in producing bio-oil from microalgae, will get a breakthrough in the coming years.

ABSTRACT

In recent years, population health has aroused great interest, especially after the outbreak of Covid-19. The related research increases substantially year by year. There are many kinds of research about population health, but few scholars use the bibliometric method to discuss them. Motivated by keeping abreast of emerging trends and critical turns in population health, this study adopts the bibliometric method to analyze the development history and status quo of population health, providing a summary description for it. This study adopts CiteSpace to conduct a bibliometric analysis of publications related to population health in Web of Science from 1971 to 2021. The most productive countries, authors, institutions, and research direction changes are analyzed. The research results show that: First, the number of publications and citations related to population health increases for years, especially in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Second, the number of publications by different countries or institutions in population health varies greatly, and they cooperate closely. Third, the co-occurrence of disciplines and keywords in population health is displayed. Finally, this study reveals the primary research force, the major themes, significant milestones, landmarks, and the evolution of the hot fronts. In all, the comprehensive analysis of this study would provide some enlightenment for future research.

ABSTRACT

Although tourism has increasingly become an important activity with wide influences on the economic, social, and spatial development of a city, knowledge and interest mostly remain on its industrial performance and promotion. The synergy between tourism and city development is largely overlooked in many cases, resulting in suboptimal design and planning of city tourism activities and unfledged potentials of city development. The aim of the paper is to propose a view of tourism-industrial complex based on a synergistic perspective in order to clarify the systematic characteristics of urban tourism in an integrated, sustainable manner. Availing of bibliometric methods and drawing on city/urban tourism literature, this paper proposes a concept of tourism-industrial complex to cover current complicated and various tourism activities that are embedded in cities at diverse levels regardless of social, economic, and spatial factors. Then, four types of tourism-industrial complexes are proposed, including demand-driven, resource-dependent, externally forced, and hybrid-driven models. Due to the networked connectivity of urban tourism, urban backgrounds, tourism industry, and external circumstances all contribute to a coupling the tourism city development system. The results provide theoretical constructs and policy recommendations for optimization and sustainable city and tourism development.

ABSTRACT

Many cities worldwide are using re-greening strategies to help reverse urbanization patterns that aggravate environmental issues. Green infrastructure (GI) has become a significant and effective strategy to address environmental problems. To better understand GI, this study uses CiteSpace to analyze 5420 published papers in the field of GI on the Web of Science database from 1990-2020. This bibliometric analysis will help new scholars and researchers to better understand the current status and trends in GI research, as well as identify further research needed in the field. This study evaluated research on GI trends according to publication amounts, keywords, journals, disciplines, countries, institutions, and authors. Results show that, first, GI research has experienced rapid growth since 2014. Second, GI, ecosystem services, and city are the top three keywords related to GI research, with green roof as the keyword with the strongest linkage. Third, Sustainability, Urban Forestry and Urban Greening, and Landscape and Urban Planning are the top three journals publishing GI research. Fourth, the top three disciplines researching GI are environmental science, engineering, and science and technology. Fifth, the USA is the top ranked country in terms of the number of published GI-related papers (1514 papers), followed by China (730 papers) and England (546 papers). Sixth, the US Environmental Protection Agency (84 papers) is the top institution in terms of publications, followed by the Chinese Academy of Science (83 papers) and the Swedish University of Agriculture (66 papers). Finally, D. Haase has the most published articles (29 papers), followed by S. Pauleit (28 papers) and P. Angelstam (26 papers). These findings indicate that GI has developed significantly in the last 30 years, with a high probability for increased growth in the future.

ABSTRACT

The literature on trace element pollutants (arsenic, selenium, lead) produced during coal burning from 2007 to 2020 was summarized by the bibliometric method, and the characteristics of published articles and research trends were analyzed. Taking 2007 as the starting point for statistics on articles in this research direction, there was a process of rapid growth in the total number of published articles by 2015, and it was increased over time. In the last 5 years of statistics, it is found that the number of articles published in China is the largest, accounting for almost half of the total. Most of the articles are published in the fields of energy, environmental protection, etc. Among them, the research on arsenic, selenium, and lead is mainly related to the use of adsorbents. At the same time, the effects of temperature, catalyst, material, and other conditions on the removal efficiency of arsenic, selenium, and lead in coal were considered. Application of photocatalysis, preparation of new adsorption materials, and mining of the properties of existing materials under different experimental conditions are a good development prospect.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To sort out the research context of information construction of drug clinical trials and understand the hot spots and development trend of informatization construction of drug clinical trials. METHODS: The knowledge map CiteSpace software was applied to analyze the 391 items of literature collected from China CNKI database during the year of 2000 to 2020. A thorough investigation was conducted from the perspectives of quantitative analysis, research institutes, author, research hot topics and the research trend. A knowledge map was generated to sort out the main ideas of the research of the drug clinical trial information construction. RESULTS: The results showed that in the past 20 years, the number of published papers related to the construction of clinical information of drugs fluctuated, and most of the major research institutions had strong research ability in this field. But the interactions within research institutions remained improved, and the academic exchanges between scholars still needed to be strengthened. The shift in hot-spot research reflected a greater focus on systematizing and protecting subjects' rights. CONCLUSION: The research of information construction of drug clinical trial mainly focuses on clinical trial, drug clinical trial, quality control and other aspects. It is the trend of future research to further improve the efficacy of trial management through information construction, ensure the reliability and standard of drug clinical trials, and effectively reduce the risks and hidden dangers of drug clinical trials.

ABSTRACT

Using a bibliometric method, this study assessed global educational research output on interprofessional education (IPE) and contributions from pharmacy relative to other healthcare academic programs, such as nursing, over the last 20 years. The Web of Science database was searched for articles published between 1998 and 2018. In addition, PubMed and the journals the American Journal of Pharmaceutical Education, Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning, and INNOVATIONS in pharmacy were searched. Data were retrieved on January 31, 2019 and systematic content analysis method was used. Number of publications, citations, H-index, and scope of IPE research including IPE settings, IPE curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment methods was recorded. A total of 1693 references were retrieved that met the inclusion criteria. From the review of the literature, it was plausible to assume that the number of publications increased exponentially from 2010 to 2017. The results indicated that the top 5 healthcare disciplines contributing to the IPE literature included: medicine (41.2%), nursing (36.2%), pharmacy (9.0%), dentistry (8.2%), occupational therapy (5.6%), and physical therapy (4.6%). A total of 295 journals published IPE-related articles. The Journal of Interprofessional Care published a total of 566 articles, accounting for 33% of all published articles. In addition, a total of 66 countries contributed to IPE publications. The top 4 countries publishing in the area of IPE were the United States (27%), Canada (17.5%), the United Kingdom (16.1%), and Australia (10.2%). The content analysis of the articles identified diverse IPE settings, pedagogical methods, and assessments as major areas of IPE research.
