ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the curative effect of colonoscopy combined with laparoscope in the treatment of colonic polyps. Methods The clinical data of 48 cases with colonic polyps were retrospectively analyzed.According to the operation pattern, the patients were divided into observation group(23 cases)and control group(25 cases). The observation group received colonoscopy combined with laparoscopy for radical surgery of colon polyps, the control group used the traditional open surgery to remove polyps. The operation time, bleeding volume, exhaust and defecation time, hospital days and cost as well as postoperative complications were observed. Results The two groups were successfully completed surgery. The operative time, bleeding volume of the observation group were (78.3 ±8.2)min and (1 3.1 ±4.5)mL respectively, which of the control group were (1 1 5.5 ±1 0.1 )min, (63.6 ±1 8.1 )mL,the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(t =1 3.93,1 3.01 ,all P 0.05).Conclusion For simple colonoscopy treatment difficulties of colon polyps, colonoscopy, laparoscopy combined treatment is minimally invasive and can improve the safety, strictly control surgical indications, can give full play to the double mirror combined advantage.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the application of Oxybuprocaine Hydrochloride Gel in colonoscopy examination. Methods 1000 patients received colonoscopy examination were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, 500 cases in each. Oxybuprocaine Hydrochloride Gel was applied on anal region in the experimental group before endoscopy for perianal anesthesia and lubrication. Paraffin oil was used in the control group to lubricate perianal and enteroscopy. The success rate of primary insertion, visual analogue pain score (VAS) score, examination time and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results In the experimental group, the success rate of primary insertion (95%) was higher than that of the control group (76%), and the pain score was lower than that of the control group. The examination time was shortened, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusions Oxybuprocaine Hydrochloride Gel applied to colonoscopy can effectively reduce the patient's pain and discomfort, improve the success rate of primary insertion, shorten the examination time. And the method is worthy of clinical popularization and application.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Colorectal polyps (CP) are common among individuals older than 50 years. Some polyp types can precede colorectal cancer (CRC). This study aimed at describing histopathological characteristics of colorectal polyps in relation to age and gender among symptomatic patients referred for a colonoscopy examination during 2011-2014 in Tirana, Albania. METHODS: Study population included 267 individuals aged ≥ 20 years and diagnosed with ≥ 1 polyp during a colonoscopy examination. A total of 346 polyps were identified, excised and measured, and underwent histopathological examination. RESULTS: Adenomas accounted for 79.8% of all polyps and tubular type was the most frequent one (74.4%). The majority of polyps (42.5%) were small (<1 cm), 38.7% of a medium size (1-2 cm) and 18.8% large (>2 cm). Adenomas were larger than non-adenomatous polyps (p<0.01) There was no gender difference with regard to patient age (p=0.22) or polyp size (p=0.84) Adenomas were more frequent among men compared to women (p=0.02). Age was strongly related to polyp characteristics. The proportion of adenomas increased significantly with age (p<0.01). Within adenomas, the proportion of villous types - a precursor of colorectal cancer - increased remarkably with age (p=0.01). Older age was positively associated with potentially malignant adenomas (defined as adenomas > 1 cm and showing high-grade dysplasia) (p<0.01). CONCLUSION: Adenomas accounted for the majority of polyps. Their morphology, size and malignant potential were related to patient age.

ABSTRACT

Objective The effects of compound Dachengqi Decoction and polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder in the effect of combined application of bowel preparation before colonoscopy.[Methods]From 2007 January to 2013 May, the outpatient clinic underwent endoscopy in 453 cases of patients, the patients were randomly divided into control group(192 cases) and compound Dachengqi Decoction group(261 cases). Colonoscopy bowel cleaning to control group with compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder; compound Dachengqi Decoction group were treated with compound Dachengqi Decoction and polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder; carry on the analysis comparison of related clinical indexes during colonoscopy in patients of 2 groups.[Results]Occurrence of Fufang Dachengqi Decoction group in the time of taking medicine and endoscopic doctor on intestinal cleaning satisfaction and the adverse reactions were superior to the control group, the difference was statistical y significant. [Conclusion]Fufang Dachengqi Decoction and polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder combined in application is effective, safe, fast, easy to be accepted by patients bowel preparation. It is conducive to the diagnosis and treatment of endoscopic, also suitable for intestinal bowel preparation before the operation, it is worthy of popularization and application.
