ABSTRACT

In academic literature, disability and employment are normally studied as one unique field, not minding that there is enormous diversity among them. What should be taken into account is the fact that disabilities could turn into a barrier when it comes to entering the Spanish labor market. This task turns into something worse depending on the type and degree of disability. That is why it is very important to be aware of different disability degrees. In this way, Spanish law has distinguished what is considered to be a disability of “special difficulty”, stating a way of measuring the different disabilities degrees. This paper focuses on the characteristics of this disadvan-tage, showing those aspects of which make a difference from the rest of the disabilities. Strategic action lines, in which these differences are taken into account, are proposed to be followed by the Public Administration, to give a specific response to support these people in a better and more accurate way. Their incorporation into the labor market is not only a laudable purpose and a social responsibility, but it also generates a positive impact on the economy, in which sheltered employment has become increasingly im-portant in recent years. ABSTRACT

The purpose of conductive education is to enable disabled people to work and to lead an active, meaningful and independent life. Our conductors are constantly working to achieve this goal, as we cannot overlook the fact that the young people who have completed our schools have several decades of active years ahead of them. In addition to my work in the conductor training, I consider it my priority to help our pupils learn as much as possible about the job opportunities available and develop the manual skills that can help them get to work. I focused my attention on two areas, the first of which is the monitoring of the professions facing our pupils. In the conductor training, we introduce new procedures and try them out continuously during teaching practices. The second is to get to know the inclusive workplaces available in order to get a realistic picture of the job opportunities facing our pupils. In addition to workshops and interviews, my research also involved gathering international experiences and data from institutions. In my article, I will give examples of collaborative workshops, employment organizations. It became clear that within the András Peto Faculty it would be difficult to carry out a multi-professional training course on its own. Success requires the involvement of collaborative institutions with an educational team and workshop. I also believe that our students in Peto will be much more successful if they are given more manual activities at primary school. Examples will be shown in my article. The most important element will be the day care in our institution. In doing so, within the framework of development employment, 10-12 people with disabilities can work together, preparing them for employment.

MATERIALS AND METHODS: A community based, descriptive, cross-sectional study was undertaken in the villages of Matigara Block of Darjeeling district of West Bengal, which serves as a field practice area of North Bengal Medical College & Hospital for two months. A total of 116 pregnant women were included and a pre designed pre tested questionnaire was used to collect the socio demographic details. The data were analysed by SPSS 20.0 software for proportions with chi-square tests. RESULTS: Knowledge of sex determination and the PNDT Act were found to be 44.82% and 18.10% among antenatal women. Knowledge regarding assessment of gender preference showed 52.58% expect a boy in this pregnancy. It was found that the determinants for gender preference were caste, sex of the last pregnancy and current gender composition. It was found that the determinants for knowledge of sex determination are age of the mother and the gravida of the mother. It was also found that the factor for the knowledge regarding the PNDT Act is age of the mother. These associations are statistically significant. CONCLUSION: This situation calls for a strategy which includes community based awareness campaigns, women employment, education, and empowerment and by ensuring effective implementation of PNDT Act by the government so that families find it difficult to undertake sex determination.
