ABSTRACT

Clearly delineating the key capabilities of organizational resilience for fisheries enterprises holds significant practical implications, as it can mitigate financing risks and foster the sustainable development of the fisheries industry. Based on the "dynamic capabilities perspective", this study constructs an analytical framework for the resilience capabilities of fisheries enterprises against financing risk. A hybrid method comprising the probabilistic linguistic term set, the decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory, and the additive ratio assessment is applied to a case study of Homey Group, examining the diverse pathways through which financing risk forms and impacts outcomes. The main findings are: (1) In the comprehensive assessment of the role of resilience capabilities in addressing the "Risk-Seeking-Decline Type" financing risk factors, market diversification and sustainable practices are accorded higher weights surpassing financial resources as the two most value-enhancing resilience capabilities. Enterprises characterized by a "Risk-Seeking-Loss Type" profile tend to assign higher weights to market diversification and technological infrastructure when evaluating financing risk resilience capabilities. (2) Regarding the key capabilities of organizational resilience, Homey Group possesses a weak risk management system for monitoring and evaluating significant risks and implementing control activities. (3) With regards to suggestions for improvement, it is advisable to delegate oversight of the risk identification process to a designated risk committee or specialists in risk management. The conclusions contribute to a deeper understanding of the nature and mechanism of resilience capabilities for fisheries enterprises and provides implications for risk management and sustainable development.

ABSTRACT

This study, set against the backdrop of new standard policies for air pollution control, investigates the role of air pollution control in driving economic transformation, upgrading, and safeguarding public welfare. Utilizing data from the prefecture-level cities from 2007 to 2016, the impact of air pollution control on per capita GDP, employment, and industrial upgrading is examined using the difference-in-differences method, and the long-term mechanism is tested. The results indicate that the new standard policy significantly improves regional per capita GDP and employment rate, and the condition identification test and robustness test show that this conclusion is very robust. Further analysis reveals that the new standard policy promotes per capita GDP and employment rate in the western region, driving regional industrial upgrading. The impact mechanism test shows that air pollution control promotes industrial upgrading and stable employment through the long-term mechanism of improving marketization, expanding the level of openness, and developing alternative industries, but there is still room for improvement in foreign investment and the development of the tertiary industry.

ABSTRACT

Under the background of increasingly fierce global economic competition and severe climate change, seeking new soft resource input is the key for China to break through the bottleneck of economic transformation. Based on the data from 278 Chinese cities from 2006 to 2019, multi-dimensional empirical tests were conducted to investigate the relationship between digital economy (DE) and spatial transfer of carbon emissions (CE). The results show that DE directly reduced CE. Mechanism analysis shows that DE reduced CE through local industrial transformation and upgrading (ITU). Spatial analysis shows that DE reduced local CE while aggravating neighboring CE. The spatial transfer of CE was attributed to the fact that when DE promoted the local ITU, it induced the transfer of the backward and polluting industries to neighboring regions, resulting in the spatial transfer of CE. Moreover, the spatial transfer effect of CE was maximum at 200 km. However, in recent years, rapid DE development has weakened the spatial transfer effect of CE. The results can provide insights into understanding the carbon refuge effect of industrial transfer in China in the context of DE and facilitate formulating appropriate industrial policies to promote inter-regional carbon reduction synergy. Thus, this study can provide a theoretical reference for achieving the dual-carbon target of China and the green economic recovery of other developing countries.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the development trend of the manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (2008-2018). On the basis of synergetics, the order parameter method of factor analysis is used to study these factors. The results show that: (1) There are five slow variable factors, such as intelligent manufacturing industry, technological innovation, scale agglomeration, market demand, and fixed asset investment, which are important power sources of the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry in Greater Bay Area. The development of these factors is relatively mature, and they cooperate with each other. (2) Similar to a fast variable of manufacturing development ecology, green development is an important coordinating factor in removing bottlenecks. Finally, suggestions for the development of the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry are put forward.

ABSTRACT

Drying is one of the most common unit operations in the production of traditional Chinese medicine. The drying process of traditional Chinese medicine materials is accompanied by the dynamic reduction of water content. As a key index to determine the end of the drying process, the moisture content of materials plays an important role in improving drying efficiency and saving energy. Recently, the drying process of traditional Chinese medicine is mostly monitored by offline detection, and there are few reports of online moisture detection applications. In this paper, the principle and current application of online inspection technology for the material drying process in different fields were introduced. The significance of online detection technology in drying of traditional Chinese medicine was also analyzed. Meanwhile, the application prospect of online detection technology in the field of drying of traditional Chinese medicine was predicted. In response to urgent transformation and upgrading of the traditional Chinese medicine manufacturing industry, the application of online moisture detection technology is expected to be a key breakthrough in the intelligent upgrading of traditional Chinese medicine drying technology and equipment.

ABSTRACT

Since environmental problems are becoming increasingly prominent, macro policies and social development have placed higher requirements on manufacturing enterprises to promote green transformation and upgrading (GTU) in China. Considering that different manufacturing enterprises choose different green technology innovation levels for GTU under environmental regulation, a game model between manufacturing enterprises and the government is constructed. The relationship between the green technology innovation level (GTIL) and the environmental regulation intensity is analyzed. Through numerical examples, the influences of environmental regulation and consumer preference on system decisions are further examined. Moreover, an econometric model is constructed to explore the influence that the environmental regulation exerts on the GTIL using panel data from the Chinese manufacturing industry. Our results show that the increase in environmental regulation intensity contributes to improving GTIL and promoting the GTU of manufacturing enterprises. Furthermore, as the environmental regulation is enhanced, the sales price decreases, benefiting consumers. Consumers' preference for high-GTIL products is conducive to GTU under environmental regulation. Empirical analysis shows that there is a U-shaped relationship between environmental regulation and the GTIL. Only when the intensity reaches a threshold can the environmental regulation be beneficial to improve the GTIL and promote the GTU of Chinese manufacturing enterprises.
