En este trabajo se presentan las actividades y proyectos desarrollados por la Sociedad Española de Medicina Interna (SEMI) durante el bienio 2010-2012. Se hace una revisión de los objetivos estratégicos, de las iniciativas de mejora en la oferta para los socios y de su incremento, de las actividades docentes en congresos, reuniones de los Grupos de Trabajo, escuelas de verano de residentes y de las actividades formativas on-line. También se revisan las relaciones institucionales, de comunicación y la información acerca de Revista Clínica Española (AU)
This paper presents the activities and projects developed by the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine (SEMI) during the period 2010-2012. A review of the strategic objectives, initiatives to improve and increase the offer for members of the teaching activities at congresses, Working Groups meetings, summer schools for residents, and on-line training activities is made. The institutional and communication relations and information on the Revista Clínica Española are also reviewed (AU)

La Pregunta de Investigación, los Antecedentes y Justificación del tema, la Hipótesis y los Objetivos forman parte de la fase preliminar del proyecto de investigación. La pregunta de investigación debe ser formulada de forma precisa y clara. Sin una buena pregunta de investigación no se puede llevar a cabo un estudio de investigación. La pregunta debe sugerir la dirección que ha de tomar la investigación y orientar sobre la metodología a seguir en el diseño y la ejecución del estudio. Una vez que hemos detectado un problema deberemos realizar un análisis del conocimiento sobre el tema, para lo cual es fundamental una revisión bibliográfica, y preguntarse si la realización del estudio está justificada. La elaboración de los objetivos del estudio va encaminada a responder la pregunta de investigación (AU)
The Research Question, Background, Rationale, Hypothesis and Objectives comprise the preliminary stage of a research project. The research question should be precise and clear. Without a strong research question you cannot conduct a research study. The question suggests the direction the research should take and guides the methodology, design and execution of the study. Once you have found a problem to be approached, the knowledge on the topic should be analysed. To this end a complete review of the literature is essential. You must also ask yourself if the performance of the study can be justified. The study objectives will be directed towards answering the research question (AU)
