Palma forrageira em dietas de novilhas leiteiras confinadas: desempenho e viabilidade econômica / Forage cactus in diets of confined dairy cattle: performance and economic viability

Objetivou- se avaliar a influência de teores crescentes de palma forrageira na dieta sobre desempenho de novilhas mestiças 3/4 Holandês-Zebu e a viabilidade econômica. Utilizaram-se 24 novilhas com peso corporal médio inicial de 163,00 ± 18 kg, distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro dietas e seis repetições. Utilizaram-se silagem de sorgo, concentrado e teores crescentes de palma forrageira na dieta (0, 200, 400 e 600 g kg-1). Quanto ao desempenho das novilhas, não houve diferença para altura à cernelha, perímetro torácico e conversão alimentar entre as dietas. O ganho de peso diário médio diminuiu com os teores de 0,00 a 600,00 g kg-1 de palma na dieta. Os pesos corporais finais variaram de forma quadrática em função dos teores de palma. Os consumos de matéria seca e, em relação à porcentagem de peso corporal, de fibra em detergente neutro corrigida para cinza e proteína em relação ao peso corporal e proteína bruta diminuíram com os teores de palma. Os consumos de fibra em detergente neutro corrigida para cinza e proteína, carboidratos não fibrosos e nutrientes digestíveis totais foram influenciados pela inclusão de palma forrageira e tiveram um comportamento quadrático. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of increasing levels of forage in the diet on performance of crossbred heifers 3/4 Holstein-Zebu and economic viability. Twenty four heifers with initial body weight of 163.00 ± 18 kg, distributed in a completely randomized design with four diets and six replications, were used. We used sorghum silage, concentrate and increasing levels of forage in the diet (0, 200, 400 and 600 g kg-1). Regarding the performance of heifers, there was no difference in height at withers, thoracic perimeter and feed conversion among diets. The average daily weight gain decreased with the concentration from 0.00 to 600.00 g kg-1 dietary palm. The final body weights ranged from a quadratic function of palm levels. Dry matter (%BW), neutral detergent fiber corrected for ash and protein (%BW) and crude protein intake decreased with the palm levels. Neutral detergent fiber corrected for ash and protein, non-fiber carbohydrates and total digestible nutrients intakes were quadratically influenced by forage palm levels. Dry matter and crude protein did not differ among diets. Total digestible nutrients decreased with the inclusion of forage palm. The inclusion forage palm up to 400 g kg-1 provided better performance. Objetivou-se analisar a influência de teores crescentes de palma forrageira na dieta sobre o balanço de nitrogênio, as concentrações de ureia na urina e no plasma e a síntese de proteína microbiana em novilhas leiteiras ¾ Holandes-zebu confinadas. Utilizaram-se 24 novilhas com peso corporal médio inicial de 163,00 ± 18 kg, com 8 meses de idade e distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro tratamentos e seis repetições. Utilizou-se silagem de sorgo, concentrado e teores crescentes de palma forrageira na dieta (0, 200, 400 e 600 g kg-1). O nitrogênio ingerido, excretado nas fezes e urina, digerido e retido com adição da palma forrageira na dieta apresentaram efeito linear decrescente. O balanço de nitrogênio foi influenciado pela inclusão de palma forrageira na dieta das novilhas leiteiras através dos valores observados para o nitrogênio digerido e retido, o que pode estar relacionado aos efeitos similares encontrados para o consumo de nitrogênio e nas excreções de nitrogênio nas fezes e na urina.
