RESUMEN
From January 1972 to August 1991 twenty-eight children with renal fusion were observed in the Department of Pediatric Surgery of Regional Hospital of Vicenza. Of the 28 children nine, (32%), had associated congenital malformations. Nineteen children with renal fusion showed twenty major urological complications (68%). Four were treated conservatively and 16 surgically. Results have been excellent in all the cases. Renal fusion often are associated with congenital malformations and fused units are often involved by pathological process. Renal surgery in fusion is conditioned by the renal position degree of malrotation of the renal pelvis and by the abnormal blood supply. The surgical approach must be in children conservative and the long term results are very often good.

We have studied the Phagocytosis at 32 children who had recurrent respiratory tract infection (RRI). We used a easy method (Phagolux). The seventy-five percent (24/32) of children had a Phagocytosis and/or Opsonisation Deficit during or following the acute respiratory tract infection. All children (except for one who had a C3-deficit) reached normal parameters after (or al least) fourty-five days.

Retrotendineus ureter is an exceptional anomaly presenting, in our experience, without clinical signs of urinary infection and obstruction. The radiological diagnosis was retrocaval ureter. The Authors report a case of a 9 years old boy who was successfully treated by ureteral section, excision of the obstructed ureteral segment and uretero-ureteral anastomosis. It seems that the case is the first reported in the medical literature of this anomaly.

We report a case of an infant with a post-necrotizing enterocolitis stenosis, resolved with operative measures. The histologic finding of Cytomegalovirus in the resected sigmoid colon rise the question if the intestinal stricture was the proper consequence of a primary enteric viral infection or a superinfection in a transitory immunodeficiency after the acute phase of necrotizing enterocolitis.

Inflammatory pseudotumor involving the common bile duct, is a very rare event. The Authors were able to observe such a case in a 10 year old boy and report here the peculiar clinical findings.

We reported a clinical case of a child with Giardiasis whose clinical symptoms show some common aspects (acute diarrhea, abdominal pain) with others less known (irido-keratoconjunctivitis) or even rare (acute interstitial nephritis).
