RESUMEN

Background: Improving mother and child nutrition during the first 1000 days of life (DoL) is one of the major areas where mHealth has demonstrated great promise. A lot of mHealth is already used in society. However, no study examines the content and features of mobile health. Aim: This study aims to examine the difference in content and features of mHealth intervention for maternal and child nutrition throughout the first 1000 days of life. Thus, new apps can be enhanced. Methods: The online journal databases that offer free papers from Scopus-indexed journals published in 2017-2022 served as the primary sources for the literature included in this study. Several keywords were used in the literature search, which used the databases Google Scholar, Science Direct, and PubMed. A total of 8 articles were included in the literature review. Results: Existing mHealth provides content and features to support and improve the health status of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children aged 0-24 months. mHealth interventions have the potential to improve maternal and child nutrition health in the first 1000 days of life by providing education, communication, support, data collection and analysis, cultural appropriateness, accessibility, and capacity building for health workers. However, it is crucial to address challenges such as evidence-based design, privacy and security, sustainability, and data management, and to ensure cultural appropriateness and accessibility for all populations. Conclusions: The more complete the content, features, and uses of mHealth, the greater the users' acceptance.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) is a fat source classified as monounsaturated fatty acid. Previous studies have shown that 47.5% of breastfeeding mothers have less fat intake when compared to the Adequacy of Nutrition Rate (RDA). EVOO consumption can improve the composition of breast milk. However, no research has been found regarding the body composition of breastfeeding mothers after consuming EVOO. This study aims to determine the effect of EVOO on the body composition of breastfeeding mothers 0-24 months. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study was conducted at the Sudiang Raya and Tamalanrea Health Centers in Makassar City with a randomized clinical trial design from January to February 2023. The sample was breastfeeding mothers 0-24 months divided into the intervention group (EVOO and Nutrition Education, n = 17) and the control (Nutrition Education, n = 17). Instruments with Bioelectrical Impedence Analysis tools. Data analysis using t-test. RESULTS: The sample is breastfeeding mothers aged between ≤19 and >35 years. The results of the analysis showed that the average pre-post test, % fat mass (FM) P = 0.426 and % fat free mass (FFM) P = 0.508 (P > 0.05), meant that there was no significant difference. Between the two groups there was no significant difference at the end of the study, %FM P = 0.469 and %FFM P = 0.529 (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS: In the intervention group that was given EVOO, it was possible to maintain%FM and%FFM in the normal percentage range, while in the control group, there was a decrease from the normal to less/low range.

RESUMEN

Background: People with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) experience an increased health risk due to reduced physical activities. Cellular health technology (mHealth) offers a way that people with DM can engage in more complex physical activities. Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) is the most commonly used theory in increasing physical activities. This study aims to find out the application of SCT in mHealth app to control blood sugar (GDP, HbA1C) of T2DM patients. Design and Method: This present study used a mixed method sequential explanatory design related to the application of mHealth Diabetes Physical Activity in Takalar Regency. The first step was to use qualitative methods with rapid assessment procedures in developing the application of SCT in mHealth. The second step was to validate and test the app through usability testing. The last step was intervening the development of mHealth app using quasi-experimental designs related to the influence of mHealth Diabetes Physical activity interventions in controlling blood sugar (GDP, HbA1c) in T2DM patients. The first group was the mHealth diabetes Physical activity (PA) intervention group; the second intervention group was a group monitored through Whatsapp group; and the third group was the group with physical activity module but without monitoring. Expected outcome: The findings of this study are expected to be the basis of evidence for nurses holding DM programs to make relevant policies and design an app-based physical activity promotion programs for T2DM patients. Conclusion: This protocol qualifies to be the basis of evidence for nurses holding Diabetes Mellitus programs in improving health services through IT-based health promotion programs.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this review is to describe an intervention that utilizes dates as a source of nutrition for pregnant women to increase hemoglobin levels in the blood in anemia incidence. The findings in this study are related to the use of dates to increase hemoglobin levels in the blood in pregnant women. METHODS: This study uses search databases used in PubMed, Science Direct, and Google Scholar. The keywords used in the initial search for articles are dates and hemoglobin obtained as many as 189 articles. At the time of using the keywords dates, hemoglobin, anemia by obtaining 15 articles and which are used only 10 articles according to the analysis of the purpose, suitability of the topic, the method of research used, sample size, research ethics, the results of each article, as well as limitations that occur. RESULT: Anemia in pregnant women causes hemoglobin (Hb) levels to decrease in the blood; the capacity of oxygen transfer to meet the needs of vital organs in the mother and fetus is reduced. All literature reviewed shows that administration of dates increases hemoglobin levels; only one literature shows no influence of consumes date juice on hemoglobin level. The majority of the literature reviewed is mild anemia. CONCLUSION: There are effective results in the implementation of health promotion of increased hemoglobin levels in the blood in pregnant women by utilizing dates as a source of nutrition.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study will be to review several studies regarding the repair or treatment of perineal tears after vaginal delivery. This is expected to be an update for a midwife in daily caring. METHODS: Two electronic databases (PubMed and Sciencedirect) were searched to locate relevant literature about perineal tears/wound/laceration/trauma that is published in 2016-2021. 124 Pubmed articles and 452 ScienceDirect articles filtered successfully. The articles that have been obtained will be evaluated based on the inclusion criteria in this study. We summarize place and date, objective, design, samples, the measurement used, and research results. RESULTS: 9 articles were found that matched the inclusion criteria. Three articles examined the effect of the type of suture on perineal pain, and another 6 discussed therapy to reduce the adverse effects of perineal tears. The therapies used are far-infrared radiation therapy, capacitive-resistive radiofrequency therapy, pelvic floor muscle training in early postpartum, cold therapy, and treatment with TheresienOl (natural oil). CONCLUSION: Sutures and technique/suturing second-degree perineal tears or a postpartum episiotomy can affect perineal pain. Cold gel pad therapy and treatment with natural oil on perineal wounds can affect perineal pain and wound healing.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: This study aims to measure changes in autonomy in groups that have been given nutrition education by applying the SDT concept. METHODS: The non-randomized pre-post intervention study design involved 63 teachers in the intervention group and 60 teachers in the control group. Nutrition education by applying the SDT concept and measurement is carried out using the Treatment Self-Regulation Questionnaire (TRSQ). RESULTS: The results showed that there was a significant change in support autonomy in the intervention group (p=0.034) and not in the control group. Controlled variables and amotivation did not show significant differences in the two groups, but changes for the better occurred in the intervention group. CONCLUSION: The application of the SDT concept can increase support for autonomy. This is expected to support sustainable behavior change.
