RESUMEN

beta-Thromboglobulin, blood platelet count and blood platelet volume are presented by a reference group (N = 30) and are compared with a group of patients having mild thrombocytopenia, migraine and renal disease before, during as well as after dialysis. Patients with migraine have statistically significant differences regarding these three parameters in comparison to the reference group. Renal patients demonstrate a marked increase of the beta-thromboglobulin values during dialysis and a rapid decrease two hours afterwards.

RESUMEN

The study was made in an effort to determine the thyroid function of breast cancer patients. Plasma TBC levels, plasma TSH basal levels and the TSH levels after stimulating with TRH were evaluated in 37 postmenopausal cancer patients and 30 age matched controls. Neither TBC and TSH basal levels nor stimulated TSH levels were significantly different between the controls and the various stages of cancer patients. Thus, the study cannot confirm other reports suggesting a possible role of thyroid in the development of breast cancer.
