[Laboratory diagnosis of disseminated intravascular blood coagulation syndrome in patients with rheumatoid arthritis]. / Laboratornaia diagnostika sindroma disseminirovannogo vnutrisosudistogo svertyvaniia krovi u bolnykh revmatoidnym artritom.

DIC-syndrome frequently associated with anemia is one of rheumatoid arthritis complications which runs latently in the presence of hypercoagulation and low fibrinolytic activity. The development of DIC syndrome in the above patients correlates with the process activity, pattern of the disease, is independent of rheumatoid arthritis stage and duration, the patients' age, immunological and serological characteristics. Concentrations of circulating immune complexes and DIC-syndrome are related in rheumatoid arthritis patients with anemia.

[Plasmapheresis in the combined treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, complicated with anemia and blood coagulation disorders]. / Plazmaferez v kompleksnom lechenii revmatoidnogo artrita, oslozhnënnogo anemiei i narusheniem svërtyvaniia krovi.

Time course of changes in hemostasis were investigated in 68 rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. DIC syndrome and anemia were recorded in 23 and 20 patients, respectively. Three RA sufferers were free of anemia. A course of plasma-pheresis proved effective against DIC syndrome in 12 anemic and 2 nonanemic patients. Alleviation of DIC syndrome occurred in association with improvement in the red cell count and inhibition of rheumatoid process activity. In persistent DIC syndrome a trend to normalization of the above parameters was insignificant.

[Effect of plasmapheresis with substitution by dextran solutions on hemostatic parameters in patients with ischemic heart disease]. / Vliianie plazmafereza s zameshcheniem dekctranovymi rastvorami na pokazatelei gemostaza u bol'nykh ishimicheskoi bolezn'iu serdtsa.

Plasmapheresis on a continuous blood flow fractionator to remove 1,200-2,000 ml plasma and substitute for the same values of dextran solutions was employed in the multi-modality treatment of 25 patients with Functional Classes II-IV exertional angina and myocardial infarction. Plasma and thrombocyte hemostatic parameters were examined just before and 24 and 48 hours after plasmapheresis. The analysis of the baseline data revealed that hemostatic changes were directly related to the severity of a disease in the patients and there was a correlation between the increased platelet aggregability and the elevated levels of fibrin-monomeric complexes. Plasmapheresis along with substitution of removed plasma for dextran solutions was accompanied by a profound hypocoagulative effect, as evidenced by plasma and thrombocyte hemostatic parameters. In addition, in patients with baseline high values of platelet aggregability plasmapheresis resulted in its decrease, whereas in those with baseline low values, it led to its increase.

The results of the clinico-laboratory investigations conducted in time course have evidenced a high therapeutic effectiveness of plasmapheresis in the complex treatment of patients with chronic active hepatitis and biliary cirrhosis of the liver. Plasmapheresis use has been validated and indicated in patients with a manifest biliary component, a high degree of the process activity and ineffectiveness or low effectiveness of the previous treatment.

[Intensive transfusion-infusion therapy of patients with cirrhosis of the liver]. / Intensivnaia transfuzionno-infuzionnaia terapiia u bol'nykh tsirrozom pecheni.

Optimum programs have been developed for the differential intensive transfusion-infusion therapy of patients with cirrhosis of the liver, based on the characteristics of the clinical course of the disease and the directed action of varying current solutions. Overtime clinical investigations were conducted in 296 patients with cirrhosis of the liver. The results of the study have shown a favourable effect of the components, blood preparations and hemocorrectors on the clinical signs of the disease, on the function of the liver, kidneys, hemostasis system and microcirculation.

[The dependence of hemoglobin and iron reserve indices on habitat conditions (sampling research in Osh Province, the Kirghiz SSR)]. / Zavisimost' pokazatelei gemoglobina i zapasov zheleza ot uslovii obitaniia (vyborochnoe issledovanie v Oshskoi oblasti Kirgizskoi SSR).

Sampling investigation of female population (896 subjects) was conducted in five regions with opposite environmental conditions. A relatively low incidence of iron deficiency anemia and high incidence of exhausted iron reserves in the women living in the high mountains indicates the participation of the adaptive-compensatory mechanisms in the development of iron-deficiency. A high rate of iron deficiency incidence in the regions of intensive tobacco growing and association of iron-deficiency anemia in women engaged in tobacco growing with their occupation suggests a possible role of this factor in the development of iron-deficiency. The analysis of cumulative probability of hemoglobin level has evidenced manifest differences in standard borderlines of this parameter for women living in high mountains, middle mountains and in valleys.

[Blood components, preparations and blood substitutes in the emergency therapy of patients with liver cirrhosis]. / Komponenty, preparaty krovi i krovezameniteli v neotlozhnoi terapii bol'nykh tsirrozom pecheni.

Therapeutic action of blood components, preparations and substitutes was studied in liver cirrhosis patients with deep anemia, marked hemorrhagic complications, endogenous toxicosis, protein insufficiency and rheological disorders. A high efficacy of different media was shown in urgent therapy of liver cirrhosis patients. A choice of drugs was determined by the patients' initial status and specificities of purpose-oriented action of modern transfusion and infusion media.
