[COMPARATIVE EFFICACY OF SHUNTING AND RESTRICTIVE BARIATRIC OPERATION: EXPECTATIONS AND REALITY]

The data, concerning significance of indices, characterizing trophic peculiarities of the patients, were presented, basing on comparative analysis of two groups of these persons, in whom restrictive (in 41) and shunting (in 32) bariatric interventions were done for obesity. Conclusion, concerning comparable efficacy of both procedures and prognostic significance of the body mass index loss, was made.

[Prophylaxis of thromboembolic complications in bariatric surgery].

The efficacy of prophylaxis of tromboembolic complications in surgical treatment of 331 patients with morbid obesity, who underwent different bariatric operations, is estimated. The comparative analysis and results of application of non-fractionized heparin and low molecular weight heparins (Fraxiparin) in patients, suffering morbid obesity, are presented.

[Roux-en-Y gastric shunting in the surgical treatment of morbid obesity].

Gastric shunting constitutes standard bariatric intervention in USA and Western Europe countries. In the states of Eastern Europe and CIS these operations are still introducing. Technique of modern modifications of gastric shunting is depicted, own results of its application in 37 patients, suffering morbid obesity, are presented.

[Stomach shunting in the surgical treatment of pathologic obesity]. / Shuntirovanie zheludka v khirurgicheskom lechenii patologicheskogo ozhireniia.

Gastric shunting (GS) constitutes one of the most effective surgical methods of treatment of morbid obesity. In USA and European countries GS constitutes standard bariatric intervention, in Ukraine these operations were not performed before. The technique of the most popular GS operations was depicted, own results of their application were presented.

The first experience of extramucosal laparoscopic esophagocardiomyotomy performance in 12 patients for achalasia of cardia was summarized. There were presented main technical stages of the operation, indications, early and immediate results of its application as well.

[Application of clexane for prophylaxis of thromboembolic complications in surgery of morbid obesity]. / Primenenie kleksana dlia profilaktiki tromboémbolicheskikh oslozhnenii v khirurgii patologicheskogo ozhireniia.

The results of comparative clinical application of low-molecular heparin Clexan vs heparin for the thromboembolic complications prophylaxis in surgical treatment of morbid obesity were summarized.

[Application of adjustable gastric bandage in surgical treatment of morbid obesity]. / Primenenie upravliaemogo bandazha zheludka dlia khirurgicheskogo lecheniia patologicheskogo ozhireniia.

Experience of surgical treatment of 8 patients with morbid obesity, using regulated cuff Lap Band, was adduced. Body mass of patients have constituted from 105 to 185, (14.5 +/- 2.5) kg at average, body mass index--from 38 to 60 kg/m2. In all patients good result of treatment was noted in term from 6 to 28 months. Immediate results of the method usage gives evidence of its efficacy.

[Reoperation in late terms after surgical treatment of morbid obesity]. / Vypolnenie povtornoi operatsii v otdalennom periode posle khirurgicheskogo lecheniia patologicheskogo ozhireniia.

Experience of the reoperations performance after jejunoileoshunting and gastric volume reducing operations for morbid obesity (MO) was demonstrated on. They may serve as a concluding phase of MO surgical treatment (various variants of dermatolipectomy) or as a reconstructive-restorational operations, directed on correction of various pathological syndromes.

[The morphofunctional status of the stomach after the performance of an operation to form a "small" stomach for pathological obesity]. / Morfofunktsional'noe sostoianie zheludka posle vypolneniia operatsii formirovaniia "malogo" zheludka po povodu patologicheskogo ozhireniia.

The results of the gastric morphofunctional state after the gastric banding operation performance were analysed. In the late follow-up period after the operation there were not noted the severe gastric changes as well as its function disorder.

[The use of vertical gastroplasty in surgical treatment of obesity]. / Primenenie vertikal'noi gastroplastiki v khirurgicheskom lechenii ozhireniia.

Vertical gastroplasty was applied in surgical treatment of obesity in two patients. There were no complications. During the first year after the operation the patients body mass have reduced by 35-41 kg (25-29% of initial).
