RESUMEN
res of oocytes qualitatively similar to those produced in vivo. The ovaries were obtained in slaughterhouses in the metropolitan region of São Luis - MA and Recife-PE. It was tested, on 10 replicates, the efficiencyof retinol (RT) and retinoic acid (RA) on the in vitro maturation of oocytes goats, using as parameters thenuclear maturation stage. A significant difference was observed (P <0.05) in the percentage of matured oocyteswhen the MBM method was used (53%) compared to other means, demonstrating an increase in the number ofexpanded oocytes. There was no significant difference (P> 0.05) when compared to percentage of goat oocytesmatured in medium that used the RT and RA. It is possible to suggest that this is an effective strategy that shouldbe adopted to increase in vitro maturation.(AU)

The skin lesions are responsible for significant number of clinical veterinarian, with the increase in thenumber of pets, especially in large cities, there is also an increase in concern on the part of owner stoward theirpets. The carcinoma is a tumor of keratinocytes. Observed under an optical microscope, the thickening of thedermis, forming is lands, trabeculae of neoplastic epithelial cells. The treatment is done surgically by removingthe neoplastic mass. Were port the case of adograce Labrador Retriever 3 years old, who had a neoplastic massin the region of preputial ulcers and bleeding. The treatment by surgical removal. Oriented by veterinaryclinical diagnosis aimed at the welfare and the animal future health, beyond cytology, that served as an aid inthe owner's decision to animals for realization of procedure. And after healing oft hesurgical wound was givenhigh for the animal. The objective of this study was to report a case of carcinoma involving the foreskin of a dogand describe the evolution of the patient after the diagnosis and of cirurgical management.(AU)

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of n-type insulin on sheep semen on the time andtemperature motility after 60 minutes of incubation at 45ºC. To therefore 7 sheep were used, the collects weremade with the aid of the Electro ejaculator. The citrate-yolk diluent was used to dilute the ejaculates (25x106sptz/ ml) using quail egg yolk. Each ejaculate was divided into four equal fractions, corresponding to thetreatments: control group (Gcont), using only tris-gem; Group 50 (G500) Diluent plus 50 IU / ml N-type Insulin;Group 100 (G100) diluent plus 100 IU / ml Insulin type N; Group 200 (G200) diluent plus 200 UI / ml N-typeInsulin. After dilution, the semen remained in a water bath at 45°C for the fast thermoresistance test on the timeevaluation (0, 20, 40, 60 Minutes), for sperm motility and vigor. The data, were submitted to the t test, and thosethat did not present parameters with normal distribution were compared by the Friedman test. According to theobtained data, the insulin in the concentrations used experimentally, it was not possible to verify positive effectof the supplementation of the same, and high concentrations decrease the sperm viability.(AU)

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of insulin on the membrane integrity evaluated by the eosin testand nigrosine in ovine semen. Seven sheep were used, harvest were made with the aid of eletroejaculator. Theyolk-citrate extender was used for dilution of the ejaculate (25x106 sperm / mL) using quail's egg yolk. Eachejaculate was divided into four equal fractions, corresponding to treatments: control group (Gcont) using onlydilutive citrat gem; Group 50 (G50) plus dilutive 50UI/ml insulin type N; Group 100 (G100) plus dilutive 100IU/Ml Insulin type N; Group 200 (G200) plus dilutive 200 IU/Ml Insulin type N. After dilution, the semenremained in water - bath at 45°C to perform the eosin test and nigrosine for evaluation by time (0, 20, 40 and 60minutes) for membrane integrity. Thus, the use of insulin does not preserve the integrity of the membranesduring the incubation period of 45C, with a gradual decrease due to stress caused by time and temperature atwhich the semen was subjected.(AU)

The aim of the study was to characterize andrologicaly sheeps belonging to Ruminants Center ofUniversidade Estadual do Maranhao. The semen collection was performed by electro ejaculation. The bodycondition score from seven animals showed averaging 4.57 ± 1.13. The scrotal circumference (SC) was 30.58 ±4.91 cm, a scrotal circumference of rams presented mean length and width of the right testicle of 9.43 ± 1.16 cmand 5.44 ± 0.46 cm and the left testicle of 9.0 ± 0.81 cm and 5.51 ± 0.41 cm, respectively. The average volume ofsemen obtained was 0.89 ± 0.32 mL, appearance, color and odor sui generis were for the species. For physicalsemen parameters, the average turbulence was 3.57 ± 0.53; force of 3.14 ± 0.38; Sperm motility of 81.43 ±6.90%; sperm concentration of 0.8 ± 0.18 x109sptz / mL. The proportion of living and dead sperm stained witheosin-nigrosin averaged 74.1 ± 3.02% and 25 ± 3.46%, respectively. According to this study and the resultsobtained, sheep showed morphology and physical aspects consistent with the species and can be used asbreeders.(AU)
