[Nosogeny in "silent" myocardial ischemia]. / Nozogenii pri "nemoi" ishemii miokarda.

Psychical reactions to ischemic cardiac disease (ICD) without angina pectoris in 29 patients with "silent" myocardial ishemia were investigated. It was demonstrated that both hypo- and hypernosognosias were observed in such patients. The former were presented by antihypochondria in individuals with hyperthymic or expansive schizoid personal features meanwhile the latter--by neurotic hypochondria in patients with hysterical characteristics. The severity of somatic state as well as myocardial ischemia manifestation were the same both in hypo- and hypernosognosias patients. There were no syndromal differences in reactions both to "silent" ischemia and on manifested forms of ICD. Psychological studies resulted in conclusion that hypernosognosias were associated with high personal anxiety as far as hyponosognosias were not bound with such individual feature. It was supposed that low preoccupation about own health may be associated with different combinations of other individual features as well as with functioning of psychological protection mechanisms.

[Depression in protracted simple schizophrenia (on the problem of correlation between positive and negative disorders)]. / Depressii pri vialotekushchei prostoi shizofrenii (k probleme sootnosheniia pozitivnykh i negativnykh rasstroistv).

Three types of depressions were distinguished in sluggish simple schizophrenia: "stupid" (18 cases) " cenesthesiopathic" (20 cases), and "existential" (24 cases). The relationship was established between the manifestations of depressions and characteristic features of defect conditions. It has been established that the structure of depressive phases in sluggish simple schizophrenia includes specific psychopathological signs heralding defect formation and united by the notion "transitory syndrome". The common psychopathological property for the transitory (between positive and negative disorders) syndromes distinguished in all three types of depressive conditions under study is the phenomenon of psychic estrangement--pathology of self-consciousness with disturbed perception of the mental and physical "self", accompanied by sensation of the loss of functions (intellect, energy possibilities, emotionality and so forth). The patients with "stupid" depressions manifest the formation of a ++pseudo-organic defect; those with " cenesthesiopathic" of an asthenic defect, and those with "existential" of a defect by the personality deformity type.

[Effect of tranquilizers on lipid peroxidation of biological membranes]. / Vliianie trankvilizatorov na perekisnoe okislenie lipidov biologicheskikh membran.

Thirty-seven patients with unstable angina pectoris were treated with prolonged-action nitrates for 20 days; 8 of these received additionally meprobamate in a dose of 0.4 g per day and 11 patients received phenazepam in a dose of 0.002 g per day. The addition of tranquillizers to the complex of treatment led to a significant decrease of one of the final products of biological membrane lipid peroxidation--Schiff's bases in erythrocytic membranes. During treatment with phenazepam a similar decrease was more rapid (by the 5th day of treatment) and more pronounced.
