RESUMEN

A comparative analysis of HLA phenotypes of fertile and infertile spouses revealed that among the infertile the sum of spouses showed compatibility in two or three HLA antigens. A detailed analysis also showed that 10 infertile couples exhibited identical and 2 antigens with a similar structure and function with so-called cross-reactions increasing the histocompatibility index to 75%. The significance of these facts for infertility risk factors is discussed.

RESUMEN

On the basis of the study into the effect of lymphocytotoxic antibodies identified in the serum and allotransplants, the authors supposed that the results of their in situ investigations were more reliable than those obtained in the peripheral blood. Studying the eluates from the renal transplants, the authors concluded that the eluates from those kidneys that lost their function due to the immune conflict contained a greater number of anti-B-warm and anti-T-lymphocyte antibodies. The presence of anti-T-antibodies in the transplants which lost their function just after the operation was typical. It was supposed that the presence of cold antibodies to B lymphocytes in the transplant could prolong the survival of the transplanted kidney.

RESUMEN

The interrelation between transplantation antigens of the HLA system and predisposition to acute pyelonephritis (PN) were studied in 81 patients, of them 36 with acute serous PN and 45 with acute purulent PN. HLA phenotype was identified with a routine lymphocytotoxic microtest in which a home-made typing panel of HLA antiserum to antigens of A and B loci was used. 150 healthy donors were subjected to control typing. Variance in HLA frequency reliability in patients and controls was verified with chi 2 criterion for tables 2 X 2. The study demonstrated higher frequency of B8 and B14 and lower of Aw19 and B35 antigens in patients with PN versus the healthy controls. Differential analysis with regard to the clinical course of the disease revealed that predisposition to acute serous PN was associated with the occurrence of A3 and B14 antigens while A10 and B8 antigens were indicative of acute purulent PN. It has been stated that purulent PN is developing in presence of secondary deficiency of T and B immune systems. Cross-reacting antigens B14 and B8, as well as splitting antigens A10 and A25 lend more ground to varying clinical course of the disease. HLA antigen B35 is found associated with the development of acute PN resistance.

RESUMEN

A study was made of the nature of secondary immuno-deficiency, peculiarities of disordered function of regulatory T-lymphocytes (helpers and suppressors), and their interrelationships in different clinical variants of chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN). Altogether 94 CGN patients were examined, of them 34 were with urinary syndrome and 60 with nephrotic syndrome. With relation to a clinical variant of disease the absolute amount of T-lymphocytes was significantly lowered, the amount and function of B-lymphocytes showed a tendency to an increase. Function of nonspecific Concanavalin A-induced T-suppressors using PHA as a mitogenic indicator (T-T-suppression) was insignificantly raised, and when lipopolysaccharide (T-B-suppression) was used it was considerably suppressed. T-lymphocyte helper activity in CGN patients was on an increase.
