RESUMEN

The cross section of the process e^{+}e^{-}→π^{+}π^{-} has been measured in the center-of-mass energy range from 0.32 to 1.2 GeV with the CMD-3 detector at the electron-positron collider VEPP-2000. The measurement is based on an integrated luminosity of about 88 pb^{-1}, of which 62 pb^{-1} represent a complete dataset collected by CMD-3 at center-of-mass energies below 1 GeV. In the dominant region near the ρ resonance a systematic uncertainty of 0.7% was achieved. The implications of the presented results for the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon are discussed.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To prevent purulent-septic complications in patients with destructive pancreatitis. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A cohort study included 488 patients with pancreatic necrosis: group 1 (n=331) - active surgical strategy, group 2 (n=157) - follow-up and therapy. We used binary logistic regression to predict purulent-septic complications. RESULTS: Original model of independent variables significantly (p<0.001) revealed 5.3 times higher risk of infectious complications after laparotomy within the first week after hospitalization. Incidence of these events increased by 2.8 times in patients biliary pancreatitis compared to alcohol-alimentary pancreatitis. Complication rate was higher in older patients (by 2.1% for each year). Risk of purulent-septic complications decreased by 57.4% in women compared to men. There was no significant correlation between risk of infectious complications and endoscopic procedures. Specificity and sensitivity of the model was 74.2 and 72.6%, respectively. CONCLUSION: Original model significantly predicts the risk of purulent-septic complications within the first week after hospitalization. Refusal of early active surgical strategy in these patients will significantly reduce the likelihood of purulent-septic complications.

RESUMEN

Evaluation of the chromatographic properties of covalently bonded hyperbranched stationary phase based on poly(styrene-divinylbenzene) (PS-DVB) and containing zwitterionic fragments in the structure of functional layer was conducted in suppressed ion chromatography (IC), reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP HPLC), and hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) modes. Besides the possibility of resolving 20 inorganic anions and organic acids using KOH eluent in suppressed IC, prepared resin provided the separation of alkylbenzenes in RP HPLC, water-soluble vitamins, amino acids, and sugars in HILIC mode. Trends in the retention of hydrophobic and polar analytes on the prepared stationary phase indicated the dominating effect of analyte nature on the retention mechanism and proved satisfactory hydrophilization of PS-DVB surface with hyperbranched functional layer for retaining polar compounds. The obtained results revealed good prospects of using hydrophobic PS-DVB substrate for preparing stationary phases for mixed-mode chromatography.

RESUMEN

Anionic liposomes were electrostatically adsorbed onto the surface of cationic chitosan particles cross-linked by sulfate anions, forming multi-liposomal containers (MLCs) for encapsulation and delivery of bioactive substances. An increase in molecular mass of chitosan from 30 to 300 kDa results in a size increase of chitosan particles, from 200 to 400 nm. Being saturated by liposomes, chitosan particles give MLCs of 320-540 nm. Each chitosan particle carries between 60 and 200 liposomes. The proteolytic complex Morikrase, a mixture of enzymes with various specificities, induces degradation of MLCs down to particles of size 10-15 nm; the higher the molecular mass of chitosan, the slower the enzyme-induced MLCs' degradation. pH variation within 5.5-7 and cholesterol incorporation into the liposomal membrane both have a minor effect on the rate of MLCs' biodegradation. Both the MLCs and the products of their biodegradation show low cytotoxicity. These results are of interest for constructing biodegradable capacious carriers of bioactive substances.

RESUMEN

On the basis of the results of treatment of 105 patients with locally advanced ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreatic head the authors present the results of work over a period of time since 1999 to 2009. In the main group the combined treatment was used for 51 patients: the non-adjuvant selective chemoembolization of the pancreatic head adenocarcinoma was performed, than standard gastropancreatoduodenal resection with lymphodesection and 6 cycles of adjuvant chemoinfusion in celiac trunk were completed. In control group standard gastropancreatoduodenal resection was performed. In the group of combined treatment the 1-, 2-, 3-year survival rates consist of 80.4%, 58.8% and 43.1%, respectively. The average life span was 22.3+/-2.1 months. The average life span of 54 patient of control group was 8.4+/-2.1 months and a common 3-year survival consists of 13%. There was no lethality after the performance of X-ray endovascular procedures and gastropancreatoduodenal resection. Postoperative complications reliably didn't differ in both groups.

RESUMEN

The complex clinical and morphological evaluation of different variants of orthopic urinary reservoir (OUR) at different times of functioning was performed. During 1996-2012, orthotopic cystoplasty was performed in 265 patients (ileocystoplasty--in 204, gastrocystoplasty--in 24, and sigmocystoplasty--in 29 patients). There were 207 (77%) men and 61 (23%) women aged 22-75 years (mean age, 57.5 +/- 1,3 years). Cold biopsy over time (1 to 6) was performed in 105 patients. The total number of biopsies was 150. Duration of morphological study was 2-12 years. Clinical examination included assessment of acid-base balance and electrolyte balance of within 3-24 months, evaluation of urodynamic parameters (OUR volume, daytime and nighttime continence, micturition volume), assessment of the frequency and the nature of infection, resistance of microorganisms to antibiotics and the symptoms of inflammatory reaction in period 1-90 months after surgery. Morphological study included histological, histochemical, immunohistochemical, and morphometric methods. Application of a set of clinical, morphological, immunohistochemical examinations is a premise for individual choice of cystoplasty, and creates the preconditions for the correction of the process of adaptation to the OUR, regardless of its form in the early and later stages of its functioning. Due to the good adaptation to the new conditions in all three types of OUR and absence of trends to malignant transformation of its mucosa, the ileocystoplasty is method of choice for creation of OUR, and gastrocystoplasty and sigmocystoplasty are alternatives.

RESUMEN

A cryopreservation method developed earlier was modified for freezing the calluses derived from mature embryos of four spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) pure lines. The effects of individual stages of cryopreservation protocol on the water content, number of calluses resuming growth, and rate of morphogenesis were analyzed. Growth resumption was observed in 90.5-100% of the calluses after dehydration and in 93.3-100% after freezing-thawing. The number of calluses displaying signs of morphogenesis considerably decreased after dehydration but remained almost the same after freezing-thawing.

RESUMEN

The method of long-term continuous low-volume infusion of hydroxyethyl starch (low-flow low volume correction HES) is administrated for correction of fluid balance disorders. The method is aimed to improve the outcomes in preeclamsia patients with multiple organ dysfunction and failure, as the most severe manifestation of system inflammatory response syndrome. After 4 days of the intensive care with application of the developed method in patients with preeclamsia the total body water level is decreased to the normal physiological level, the oedemas are significantly reduced or ceased, the haemodynamics stabilizes, which leads to the reduce of neurologic symptoms. The suggested method of low-flow low volume correction HES, in dose of 15 ml/kg/day is a significant addition to the existing methods of homeostasis and preeclampsia correction.

RESUMEN

Autohemotransfusions were used at 120 patients before surgery and in first day after it. Control group of patients was treated with donor blood components. Level of hemoglobin and hematocrit was controlled in both groups. It was demonstrated that these parameters returned to normal level on 5-7 days earlier at the patients of study group (with autohemotransfusions) than at ones of control group.

RESUMEN

The paper analyzes the results of treatment in victims with the crush syndrome under the conditions maximally close to those of emergency situations. It is concluded that plasma exchange procedures should be performed within the next few hours after taking the victims from the obstructions, which reduces the risk of acute lung damage and death rates in this group of patients to a considerable extent.

RESUMEN

The development of juvenile plants of hybrid Bratonia orchid in vitro after seed storage in liquid nitrogen and the effect of nutrient medium composition on protocorm multiplication and plant regeneration were investigated. Cryopreservation did not inhibit the germination rate of seeds. Protocorms derived from cryopreserved seeds developed faster than protocorms from control (unfrozen) seeds during the first 45 days. But during further culturing, this tendency was not retained and finally protocorms from cryopreserved seeds had the same size as control ones. There were no significant differences in leaf number and shoot length between juvenile plants derived from unfrozen and cryopreserved seeds. We found that among four tested media liquid Morel medium was the most preferable for protocorm multiplication, and liquid ?S medium with half-strength macronutrients was the best one for the development of juvenile plants.

RESUMEN

The authors studied the activity of xanthine oxidase (XO) and xanthine dehydrogenase (XDG) in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with craniocerebral trauma (CCT). XO and XDG activity in CSF appeared in moderate and severe CCT. XO in CSF was predominantly of cerebral origin. The possible role of XO in activation of lipid peroxidation in CCT is discussed. It is suggested that determination of XO and XDG activity in CSF should be used for evaluating the severity of the trauma.

RESUMEN

The authors studied adenosine 3,5-cyclic monophosphate (cAMP) in the cerebrospinal fluid (csf) of patients with craniocerebral trauma (CCT), ischemic stroke, and brain tumors. A statistically significant increase of cAMP in csf of patients with moderate and severe CCT was revealed. In unfavourable outcomes of severe CCT the increase of cAMP continued to the time of death. The authors suggest using this index as a diagnostic criterion of the depth of the metabolic disorders in the brain tissue, as a prognostic criterion, and for purposes of differential diagnosis. The possible mechanism of lipid peroxidation activation in CCT is discussed.

RESUMEN

A study is presented of the general activity and isoenzymatic spectrum of creatine phosphokinase (CPK) in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in patients with acute meningitis of different etiology. The enzymatic activity proved to be increased due to the cerebral (CPK-BB) isoform. Liberation of CPK-BB from the brain tissue and its penetration into the intercellular fluid and then into the CSF was related to the functional-structural changes in the cellular membranes of the brain in meningitis.

RESUMEN

The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) creatine kinase (CK) activity and isozymic spectrum (EC 2.7.3.2) have been examined in patients with craniocerebral injuries of varying severity. The CK activity has been elevated in all the patients. Three isoforms have been detected: CK-BB, CK-MB, and CK-MM. CK-BB has been detected in all the patients in the presence of the total CK activity; this is explained by the isozyme release from the brain tissue during the injury and as a result of functional and structural impairment of the cellular membranes in intensification of lipid peroxidation. The CK-MM activity is due to blood admixture in the CSF and to impaired hematoencephalic barrier during the injury. The presence of CK-MB in the CSF of patients without cardiac symptoms probably results from a recombination of CK-BB and CK-MM isoforms and is of no diagnostic significance. Measurements of the total and isozymic CK activity in the CSF of patients with craniocerebral injuries may become a test for the laboratory diagnosis of the trauma severity and course.
