A pesca de arrasto artesanal motorizada, com portas, dirigida ao camarão sete-barbas (Xiphopenaeuskroyeri) é realizada no litoral catarinense desde 1960, gerando emprego, renda e mantendo viva a tradição cultural açoriana. A caracterização socioeconômica da pesca artesanal foi realizada por entrevistas semiestruturadas,com questionários aplicados a 31 pescadores entre julho/2010 a junho/2011. Os entrevistados tinham idade entre 28-63 anos, casados (80,6%), com 1º grau incompleto (61,3%) e cerca de 65,0% tinham mais de 30 anos na atividade. As embarcações eram próprias (93,5%), de 7,0-11,5m,com casaria (83,9%), motor 18HP (61,3%), redes de 5-7 braças (90,3%)e malhas de 3-4 mm (58,1%). Pescam entre São Francisco do Sul e Florianópolis, com jornada de trabalho de 10-14hdia-1, 4-6 diassemana-1(80,6%), entre 6-8 mesesano-1, em profundidades de 2,0-33,0m. A captura mínima de camarões foi entre 0,5-10,0kgdia-1e a máxima, 230-1.200 kgdia-1, proporcionando uma renda bruta mensal entre 1-2 salários mínimos (67,7%).(AU)
The artisanal fishing for the sea-bob shrimp (Xiphopenaeuskroyeri) has been practiced on the Santa Catarina coast since 1960, always using the method of motorized dragnet with rings, where it generates jobs and income, and helps keep the traditional Azorean cultural tradition alive.The socio-economic characteristics of the artisanal fishing were conducted by semi-structured interviews with 31 surveys applied to fishermen to July 2010/June 2011. The interviewees were between 28 and 63 years, married (80.6%), with incomplete elementary education (61.3%); around 65.0% had been working in the activity for more than30 years. They use, own boats (93.5%), length 7.0-11.5m, with cabin (83.9%), Yanmar 18HP motor (61.3%), nets of 11.0-15.4 m (90.3%) and mesh size of 3-4mm (58.1%). They fish over a wide territory, from São Francisco do Sul to Florianópolis. The normal working day is between 10-14 hoursday-1, 4-6 daysweek-1(80.6%), from 6-8 monthsyear-1, at depths of 2-33m. The minimum capture of shrimp is between 0.5-10.0kgday-1and the maximum is 230-1,200kgday-1, giving a gross monthly income of 1-2 minimum salaries (67.7%).(AU)
