RESUMEN

The paper deals with the study of the clinical course of pyo-septic complications of complex radiation treatment for cervical carcinoma. Application of the combined method prevents complications in patients with stage I and IIa tumors with concomitant encapsulated purulent inflammation in the appendages. Treatment for stage IIb and III malignancies should start with removal of the purulent foci.

RESUMEN

The authors have studied age, microsocial, cultural, and psychopathological pathomorphosis in two groups of females (154 cases in total) with hysterical neurosis who were admitted to hospital in the early 1950s and early 1980s. The investigation has demonstrated that both the ratio of the main psychopathological disturbances in the structure of hysterical neurosis and their nature and severity have undergone definite changes. Vivid motor disorders rather prevalent in the 1950s have been shifted to the background by vegeto-somatic disturbances. At the same time sensory stigmas, while remaining fairly typical and frequent in the clinical course of hysterical neurosis, are becoming to be distinguished by increasingly unremarkable and elementary features, resembling the sensations reported by patients with somatic diseases.

RESUMEN

The characteristics of the formation and structure of hysterical symptomatology in hysterical neurosis and hysterical neurotic development of personality are described. The author shows the pathomorphosis of modern hysterical neurotic disturbances and emphasizes a tendency toward imitation of common somatic diseases and the predominance in the clinical picture of neurosis of somato-vegetative and asthenic manifestations. Factors affecting the pathological process (characteristics of the premorbid adjustment and psychotraumatic situation) are analyzed. Hysterical neurosis was largely associated with vegetative manifestations while the hysterical neurotic development was more often related to affective ideatory manifestations. The authors have also identified two clinical variants of the hysterical neurotic development whose common characteristics included excessively affective reactions, lability to vehement non-differentiated emotional responses to any stimulus, and behavioural disturbances according to the hysterical type.

RESUMEN

The authors studied 150 adolescents aged 12-15 years with the psychopath-like syndrome associated with an early residual-organic cerebral damage. The adolescents were divided into 2 groups according to whether the psychopathlike disturbances took the form of (a) emotional instability or (b) explosiveness. It has been established that the formation of various forms of the psychopath like behaviour is determined by pathogenic microsocial factors. The data obtained are used for amending recommendations on the prophylaxis and correction of psychopathlike disorders in adolescents with residual-organic cerebral lesions.

RESUMEN

The authors studied 53 patients with hysterical neurosis and 66 with hysterical neurotic development of personality. Factors contributing to an unfavourable course of neurosis and its transformation into a hysterical development were elicited; clinical variants of the formation of the hysterical neurotic personality development are described. A study was carried out aimed at comparing the functions of the serotoninergic and cholinergic systems in patients with hysterical neurosis, hysterical development and hysteroid psychopathy at the stage of decompensation. An increase in the changes in these systems in the "neurosis-development-psychopathy" series and their time-course were defined in the process of treatment. On the basis of the clinical and laboratory data, a conclusion was drawn about the advantage of treating the hysterical development with phenothiazine drugs as compared with tranquilizers.
