RESUMEN

The behavior of magnetite nanoparticles was studied in the cell chip microcapillaries. No aggregation of magnetite nanoparticles under conditions of long-term circulation was noted. Biodistribution and toxicity of magnetite nanoparticles (14 nm) and aminated magnetite after their intragastric administration to mice were studied in vivo. According to mass spectrometry and microscopy data, accumulation of nanoparticles occurred mainly in the liver cells.

RESUMEN

The incidence of SLC6A4 gene 5HTTLPR polymorphism alleles was evaluated in 223 male athletes engaged in endurance sports, the results were compared with those in 177 male nonathletes. Association between 5-HTTLPR genotypes and the effect of exhaustive treadmill running on simple and complex visual reactions and critical flicker frequency threshold was studied. We found that the incidence of LL genotype was significantly higher in athletes in comparison to nonathletes; after exercise, the velocity of visual reactions and critical flicker frequency increased; exercise did not change the velocity of complex visual reaction in LL-carriers, and increased it in SS-carriers. We conclude that exhausting treadmill running leads to facilitation sensory information processing in athletes and that SS-carriers are more susceptible to the effect of exhaustive treadmill running than LL-carriers.

RESUMEN

Changes in nerve conduction after 10-min electroneurostimulation of the posterior surface of the neck were studied. Changes in the parameters of laser-induced potentials obtained during stimulation of C7 dermatome on hands and posterior surface of the neck were found. Decrease in the amplitude and shortening of the component latency were shown. Method of laser-induced potentials was concluded to provide unbiased estimation of the level and peculiarities of analgesic effects of physical factors.

RESUMEN

Study by means of expression profiling with Human GeneChip ST1.0 microchips (Affymetrix) revealed 10 early immune response genes, whose expression was modified after short-term intense physical exercise. They include genes for immunoglobulin-like receptors of natural killer cell, genes for IL-2Rß and IL-18RAP receptors, and two genes for functional proteins (perforin 1 and granzyme B) that provide the cytotoxic potential of killer cells. Possible mechanisms of stimulation, activation of the receptor apparatus, and cytotoxic effect on natural killer cells are evaluated under conditions of physical exercise.

RESUMEN

Intensive exercise triggers the cascade processes of body adaptation, including modulation of splisosome functioning, and can lead to modification of its activity and choice of alternative exons. We studied the effect of exercise of the maximum aerobic power on activation of transcription of genes involved in the splicing process. Short-term exercise resulted in a significant increase of mRNA expression of genes encoding proteins involved in the formation of precatalytic splisosome: DDX17, DDX46, HNRNPR, PRPF4B, and SRPK2. The role of the detected regulators in initiation of splisosome assembly under conditions of maximally intensive exercise is discussed.

RESUMEN

Muscular dystrophy is a common multisystem disease, which results from the impairment of alternative splicing. An increase in the number of unstable CTG and CCTG repeats in untranslated regions of the DMPK and ZNF9 genes is followed by dysregulation of RNA-binding proteins. Further changes are followed by dysfunction of insulin receptors, membrane Cl- channels, and other proteins. We developed a new mathematical model for the regulation of splicing of exon 11 in the IR gene, which describes the effect of various factors on alternative splicing.

RESUMEN

The method of mid-infrared molecular spectroscopy allows precise measuring of the concentrations of a large number of biological molecules in a minimal sample volume. Method of projections on latent structures was used for plotting the calibration models. On the basis on mid-infrared spectral data we obtained calibration models for calculation of serum content of various substances: albumin, cholesterol, glucose, total protein, urea, 70 Da heat shock protein, and malonic dialdehyde.

RESUMEN

Associations of functional polymorphism in genes of dopamine receptor DRD2, dopamine transporter DAT, and dopamine degrading enzyme COMT with variations in anxiety sensitivity threshold were studied. On the basis of genetic and psychological analysis, an attempt was undertaken to evaluate the relationship of DRD2, DAT and COMT genotypes with values obtained using different anxiety scales. It was found that carriers of VA1(+)9(+) genotype exhibit increased anxiety and significantly differed from individuals with other genotypes. The results were illustrated with model of dopamine diffusion in the extracellular space of the striatum in carriers of different genotypes.
