RESUMEN
This clinical study and 3-year follow-up evaluated the efficacy of adhesive amalgam restorations for pediatric dental practice. The original goal of the study was to determine when bonding of amalgam restorations should be performed. After the initial set of study restorations were placed, it appeared that the bonding should always be performed and that the study should concentrate on the modes of restoration failure.

Authors present results of their own study concerning psycho-sociological functioning in patients after mitral valvuloplasty or mitral valve repleasment. A sourse of data was information obtained from mail questionnaire in 60 persons. We have made an analysis of phenomena which influence on subjects' occupational activity. During the hospitalisation period, before and after surgical treatment, patients had hemodynamicly exam (with effort) to hold in estimation their condition. The results of this study shown that most of the subjects don't resume their occupational work. This is caused by psychological or psychosociological reasons (anxiety, fear before effort, no acceptation by employer at person after cardiosurgical treatment, etc). Authors underline necessity of the intensive psychotherapeutic action during the hospitalisation and just after it at ambulatory course.

Fourteen male patients with mild hypertension, aged between 20 and 46 years (mean = 32.4 years) measured their arterial blood pressure thrice daily for 6 weeks. Prior to and after this period psychological tests were carried out, including Gough's ACL test and Spielberger's STAI questionnaire. All patients underwent also Kraeplin's test under stress conditions twice during the experiment. It was found that there is significant correlation of personality response syndromes such as: need for acceptance, inferiority complex, need for success, trust to themselves, anger and some values of blood pressure. So-called personality syndrome related to hypertension was established. Psychophysiological picture accompanying emotional stress was discussed and relationship between blood pressure values (prior to and after emotional stress) and personality syndromes were defined.
