RESUMEN

Chordoma is a rare tumor in spine. Two cases, exceptional in adolescents, are reported. The clinical evolution is slow and progressive. CT shows a lobulated tumor, precises the degree of vertebral osteolysis and detects intra-tumoral calcifications. MRI is useful to determine especially in high in soft tissues and the vertebral canal. Arteriography is realised in pre-operative time and permits an embolization when the tumor is hypervascularised.

RESUMEN

Increased density of the right paracardiac lung field is frequently visible in patients with pectus excavatum. This sign is due to compression of the lungs by the bent costal cartilages of the pectus and should not be interpreted as evidence of pulmonary infiltrate.

RESUMEN

The authors report a case of cystic dilatation of the terminal portion of the thoracic duct which clinically corresponded to a swelling in the root of the left side of the neck. Pathogeny and evolutive mode of this exceptional affection are ill known. Echography and scanography show the cystic nature of the mass. Diagnosis is made by direct puncture which can prove the chylous nature of the content and permits the opacification of the cyst. Lymphography shows the type of junction with the thoracic duct.

RESUMEN

Although the diagnosis of benign tumors is difficult with conventional radiology and endoscopy, CT demonstrate easily the gastric lipomas because of their specific density. This diagnostic allows surgery in better conditions (simple tumorectomy).

RESUMEN

Krabbe's disease whose CT appearance is well known should benefit of the development of MRI as this method is more accurate. MRI permits early diagnosis of leucodystrophy. Yet it must be emphasized that abnormal white matter patterns are not sufficient to permit the diagnosis of Krabbe disease. In the case reported atrophy of the brain, the cerebellum and the brain-stem, demyelination of the white matter and necrosis of corpus callosum were observed. The abnormalities of the brain on MRI pictures help in the diagnosis as they may alert clinicians to the possibility of Krabbe disease in infants with progressive encephalopathy. A definitive diagnosis can be established thanks to the laboratory tests.

RESUMEN

We report an unusual case of a pelvic cystic lymphangioma. The first symptom was an inguinal mass which evoked a lymph node. Diagnosis was suspected thanks to CT. Surgery confirmed the diagnosis. It is an unusual aspect of a malformation which is itself not frequent.
