RESUMEN

Methacrolein is a major oxidation product of isoprene emitted in the troposphere. New spectroscopy information is provided with the aim to allow unambiguous identification of this complex molecule, characterized by a large amplitude motion associated with the methyl top. State-of-the-art millimeter-wave spectroscopy experiments coupled to quantum chemical calculations have been performed. For the most stable s-trans conformer of atmospheric interest, the torsional and rotational structures have been characterized for the ground state, the first excited methyl torsional state (ν27), and the first excited skeletal torsional state (ν26). The inverse sequence of A and E tunneling sub-states as well as anomalous A-E splittings observed for the rotational lines of v26 = 1 state clearly indicates a coupling between methyl torsion and skeletal torsion. A comprehensive set of molecular parameters has been obtained. The far infrared spectrum of Durig et al. [Spectrochim. Acta, Part A 42, 89-103 (1986)] was reproduced, and a Fermi interaction between ν25 and 2ν27 was evidenced.

RESUMEN

A possibility to detect adenoviral protein--hexon, using specific antibodies by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) was demonstrated. The hexon of the human adenovirus 2 (Ad2) binds to antibodies immobilized on the sensor surface treated by KNCS and protein A Staphylococcus aureus. The specificity of antihexon antibodies was demonstrated by indirect method of fluorescent antibodies (MFA) and cellular variant of the immunoassay (cELISA).

RESUMEN

A level of autoantibodies (aAB) to nerve growth factor (NGF) was measured in blood serum of children from 4 groups: 1) schizophrenic patients; 2) children from the families, in which one of the parents suffered with schizophrenia (high risk groups of schizophrenia); 3) children with residual-organic damages of CNS; 4) control group. This index was also determined in their mothers. Significant elevation of a titer of aAB to NGF was observed in blood of children from groups 1 and 2 as well as in their mothers, as compared with 3 and 4 groups. Among the mothers of the children from 1 and 2 groups there were met women with different endogenous mental disorders, with the disorders of personality as well as mentally healthy women. An increase of a level of aAB to NGF was found in all the women from groups 1 and 2, independently of their mental status including mentally healthy women. Such results allow to consider elevated level of aAB to NGF as a risk factor of mental pathology.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To determine why methotrexate (MTX) exacerbates rheumatoid nodules in some patients, despite the effective suppression of synovial inflammation. METHODS: Phorbol myristate acetate (PMA)-induced differentiation of monocytes into multinucleated giant cells was used as an in vitro model to study the effects of adenosine on nodulosis. RESULTS: MTX at 200-2,000 nM or the adenosine A1 agonist N5-cyclopentyl adenosine (CPA) (10(-12) to 10(-9) M) or the A2 antagonist 3,7-dimethyl-1-propargylxanthine markedly enhanced giant cell formation, whereas the adenosine A1 antagonist 8-cyclopentyl-dipropylxanthine completely reversed these effects. PMA, CPA, and MTX induced adenosine release by cultured monocytes at concentrations consistent with those associated with predominantly A1 effects. Furthermore, surface expression of A1 receptors was found to remain unchanged on the differentiating cells throughout the culture period. CONCLUSION: Agents that inhibit adenosine A1 receptors might be useful in the treatment of MTX-induced rheumatoid nodulosis, while still potentiating the A2-mediated antiinflammatory effects of MTX on synovitis.

RESUMEN

In 58 patients after performance of plasty with fatty-cutaneous and fasciocutaneous grafts, the state of circulation in the flaps was studied. The level of ischemic disorders was defined. The medicamentous complexes contributing to improvement of circulation in the grafts are suggested.

RESUMEN

The authors treated 603 sufferers with acute cold damage. The principal reversibility of tissue damage in local cold traumas at the prereactive period is shown. The difference of therapeutical tactics in freezing, primary cryonecrosis, local cold trauma at the prereactive period, frostbite is noted. The necessity of individual immunotherapy of the sufferers is stressed. Criteria for estimation of the effectiveness of aid to such patients are suggested.
