RESUMEN

Background: Uveal Melanoma (UM) is the most prevalent primary intraocular malignancy in adults. This study assessed the importance of chromatin regulators (CRs) in UM and developed a model to predict UM prognosis. Methods: Gene expression data and clinical information for UM were obtained from public databases. Samples were typed according to the gene expression of CRs associated with UM prognosis. The prognostic key genes were further screened by the protein interaction network, and the risk model was to predict UM prognosis using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression analysis and performed a test of the risk mode. In addition, we performed gene set variation analysis, tumor microenvironment, and tumor immune analysis between subtypes and risk groups to explore the mechanisms influencing the development of UM. Results: We constructed a signature model consisting of three CRs (RUVBL1, SIRT3, and SMARCD3), which was shown to be accurate, and valid for predicting prognostic outcomes in UM. Higher immune cell infiltration in poor prognostic subtypes and risk groups. The Tumor immune analysis and Tumor Immune Dysfunction and Exclusion (TIDE) score provided a basis for clinical immunotherapy in UM. Conclusion: The risk model has prognostic value for UM survival and provides new insights into the treatment of UM.

RESUMEN

A taxonomic identification using polyphasic approach was performed on strain TH16-21T, which was isolated from the interfacial sediment of Taihu Lake, PR China. Strain TH16-21T was Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped and catalase-positive. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene and genomic sequences indicated that strain TH16-21T was classified within the genus of Flavobacterium. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain TH16-21T showed the highest similarity to Flavobacterium cheniae NJ-26T (98.9 %). The average nucleotide identity and digital DNA-DNA hybridization values between strain TH16-21T and F. cheniae NJ-26T were 91.2 and 45.9 %, respectively. The respiratory quinone was menaquinone 6. The major cellular fatty acids (>10 %) comprised iso-C15 : 0, iso-C16 : 0, iso-C15 : 1 G and iso-C16 : 0 3-OH. The genomic DNA G+C content was 32.2 mol%. Phosphatidylethanolamine, six amino lipids and three phospholipids were the main polar lipids. Based on the phenotypic features and phylogenetic position, a novel species with the name Flavobacterium lacisediminis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is TH16-21T (=MCCC 1K04592T=KACC 22896T).

RESUMEN

With 12 representative states such as Ohio and Illinois as examples, the disciplinary system for acupuncturists in the United States is introduced. The disciplinary system mainly covers several aspects such as the subject of the implementation, the types of illegal acts, the form of disciplinary responsibility, and the hearing procedure. The acupuncture industry association has the responsibility of disciplinary action in most states. Corresponding disciplinary measures will be taken depending on the illegal activities of acupuncturists according to the types of illegal practice specified by each state. The hearing procedure provides procedural guarantee for the subsequent rights protection activities of acupuncturists.

RESUMEN

A type of hierarchical structured composite composed of a minor thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) phase spreading at the interface of two major phases polyoxymethylene/polyamide copolymer (POM/COPA) and carbon black (CB) particles selectively localized at the TPU/COPA interface of the tri-continuous blends was fabricated by melt compounding. The hierarchical structure was designed according to predictions and verified by a combination of electron microscopy and solvent extraction technique. The hierarchical structured composites show the dramatically decreased percolation threshold, a reduction of 60% compared to those without TPU where CB is selectively distributed in the COPA phase. The effects of CB contents and TPU on the phase morphology of POM/COPA were investigated, showing the occurrence of the POM/COPA phase inversion from a sea-island to a co-continuous structure beyond the percolation threshold of CB in the presence of TPU. The mechanism for the formation of conductive network is construction of CB network at the TPU/COPA interface of tri-continuous POM/COPA/TPU blends and double percolation effect.
