RESUMEN

Nowadays, it is still a challenge to prepared high efficiency and low cost formaldehyde (HCHO) removal catalysts in order to tackle the long-living indoor air pollution. Herein, δ-MnO2 is successfully synthesized by a facile ozonation strategy, where Mn2+ is oxidized by ozone (O3) bubble in an alkaline solution. It presents one of the best catalytic properties with a low 100% conversion temperature of 85°C for 50 ppm of HCHO under a GHSV of 48,000 mL/(g·hr). As a comparison, more than 6 times far longer oxidation time is needed if O3 is replaced by O2. Characterizations show that ozonation process generates a different intermediate of tetragonal ß-HMnO2, which would favor the quick transformation into the final product δ-MnO2, as compared with the relatively more thermodynamically stable monoclinic γ-HMnO2 in the O2 process. Finally, HCHO is found to be decomposed into CO2 via formate, dioxymethylene and carbonate species as identified by room temperature in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared fourier transform spectroscopy. All these results show great potency of this facile ozonation routine for the highly active δ-MnO2 synthesis in order to remove the HCHO contamination.

RESUMEN

This study explores the utilization of the organic conductive molecule Polypyrrole (PPy) for the modification of Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) nanoparticles, aiming to develop highly sensitive ozone sensors. Pyrrole (Py) molecules undergo polymerization, resulting in the formation of extended chains of PPy that graft onto the surface of IGZO nanoparticles. This interaction effectively diminishes oxygen vacancies on the IGZO surface, thereby promoting the crystallization of the IGZO (1114) facets. The resultant structure exhibits promising potential for achieving high-performance wideband semiconductor gas sensors. The IGZO/PPy device forms a Straddling Gap heterojunction, facilitating enhanced electron transfer between IGZO and ozone molecules. Notably, the adsorption and desorption of ozone gas occur efficiently at a low temperature of approximately 25 °C, obviating the need for additional energy typically associated with wide bandgap semiconductor materials. Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations attribute this efficiency to the enhanced number of active sites for ozone adsorption, facilitated by hydrogen bonds. The substantial conductivity of PPy, combined with its planar ring structure, induces positively charged polarization on the IGZO side upon ozone adsorption. The resultant device exhibits exceptional sensitivity, boasting a 4-fold improvement compared to sensors reliant solely on IGZO. Additionally, the response time is significantly reduced by a factor of 10, underscoring the practical viability and enhanced performance of the IGZO/PPy sensor field.

RESUMEN

Hand eczema is a common allergic disease characterized by a chronic relapsing course with a 15% lifetime prevalence. Human immunodeficiency virus-infected individuals have a higher risk of Staphylococcus aureus infection which is associated with the severity of hand eczema. Incidences of allergic diseases including hand eczema and chronic itch are higher in patients with human immunodeficiency virus. Pruritus is one of the most common symptoms in hand eczema, sometimes intractable pruritus provokes repeated scratching, picking, disfigurement, and can even worsen the lesion. Currently, there is no ideal treatment for hand eczema, the treatment of hand eczema in human immunodeficiency virus patients is even more difficult. Here, we present a case of recurrent and therapy-resistant hand eczema patients combined with Staphylococcus aureus infection, human immunodeficiency virus infection was better improved by being treated with topical ozone therapy.

RESUMEN

The vertical distribution of tropospheric ozone (O3) is crucial for understanding atmospheric physicochemical processes. A Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) method for the retrieval of tropospheric O3 vertical distribution from ground-based Multi-AXis Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (MAX-DOAS) measurements to tackle the issue of stratospheric O3 absorption interference faced by MAX-DOAS in obtaining tropospheric O3 profiles. Firstly, a hybrid model, named PCA-F_Regression-SVR, is developed to screen features sensitive to O3 inversion based on the MAX-DOAS spectra and EAC4 reanalysis O3 profiles, which incorporates Principal Component Analysis (PCA), F_Regression function, and Support Vector Regression (SVR) algorithm. Thus, these screened features for ancillary inversion include the profiles of temperature, specific humidity, fraction of cloud coverage, eastward and northward wind, the profiles of SO2, NO2, and HCHO, as well as season and time features to serve as sensitive factors. Secondly, the preprocessed MAX-DOAS spectra dataset and the sensitive factor dataset are utilized as input, while the O3 profiles of the EAC4 reanalysis dataset incorporating the surface O3 concentrations are employed as output for constructing the CNN model. The Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) decreases from 26 % to approximately 19 %. Finally, the CNN model is applied for inversion and comparison of tropospheric O3 profiles using independent input data. The CNN model effectively reproduces the O3 profiles of the EAC4 dataset, showing a Gaussian-like spatial distribution with peaks primarily around 950 hPa (550 m). Since the reanalysis data used for model training has been smoothed, the CNN model is insensitive to extreme values. This behavior can be attributed to the MAPE loss function, which evaluates Absolute Percentage Errors (APEs) of O3 concentration at all altitudes, resulting in varying retrieval accuracy across different altitudes while maintaining overall MAPE control. Temporally, the CNN model tends to overestimate surface O3 in summer by around 20 µg/m3, primarily due to the influence of the temperature feature in the sensitivity factor dataset. In conclusion, leveraging MAX-DOAS spectra enables the retrieval of tropospheric O3 vertical distribution through the established CNN model.

RESUMEN

In recent years, the coastal area in East China has experienced elevated volatile organic compounds (VOCs) levels during specific periods. VOCs have become one of the major atmospheric pollutants in these areas. In this study, 64 compounds including alkanes, alkenes, halohydrocarbons, aromatics, and oxygenated VOCs (OVOCs) were obtained by the TO-15 method through a 12-month campaign in industrial, urban and suburban areas in the Yangtze River Delta of China. The overall trends of total VOC (TVOC) concentrations at eight sampling sites were as follows: winter > autumn > spring > summer. The proportion of VOC categories was various at industrial sites, while OVOCs and halohydrocarbons had high proportions at urban sites and suburban sites, respectively. Coating, vehicle emission, petrochemical source, industrial source, and gasoline volatilization were identified as the major VOC emission sources by the positive matrix factorization model. Petrochemical and coating sources were the prime VOC sources at industrial sites. Aromatics contributed the most ozone formation potential at industrial sites, while OVOCs provided the main contributions at both urban and suburban sites during four seasons. According to the health risk assessment, a high probability of non-carcinogenic risk existed at three industrial sites. Special attention should be given to certain VOCs, such as acrolein and 1,2-dibromoethane in industrial areas.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE OF THE RESEARCH: Air pollution is a universal issue and has significant deleterious effects on both human health and also environment. The important indicators of air pollution include ozone (O3), particulate matter (PM), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2). This research aims to investigate the impacts of ambient air pollution (AAP), SO2, and O3 on oxidative stress parameters, liver tissue histopathology, and expression of some carcinogenesis-related genes in the hepatic tissue of rats. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 32 Wistar rats were randomly allocated to four groups: the control group, the AAP group, the SO2 group (10 ppm), and the ozone group (0.6 ppm). Over a period of five consecutive weeks, the rats were exposed to the specified pollutants for 3 h daily; liver tissues were harvested and instantly fixed with formalin. Pathological changes were assessed in the tissue samples. Additionally, the RT-qPCR technique was utilized to investigate Expression alterations of BAX, p-53, BCL2, caspase-3, caspase-8 and caspase-9. Furthermore, 30 milligrams of hepatic tissues were extracted to assess the activities of oxidative stress enzymes. RESULTS: The liver catalase and MDA activity were elevated in the air pollution (p < .05). Also, liver GPx activity in air pollution and ozone groups was significant in comparison to the control group (p < .05). The SO2 group exhibited severe lesions in histopathology examinations. CONCLUSIONS: The findings revealed an alteration in liver histopathology, an induction of oxidative stress, and the expression of some apoptosis-related genes in hepatic tissues after exposure to AAP, SO2, and O3.

RESUMEN

A few studies have explored the relationship between air pollution exposure and the risk of birth defects; however, the ozone-related (O3) effects on preconception and first-trimester exposures are still unknown. In this time-stratified case-crossover study, conditional logistic regressions were applied to explore the associations between O3 exposure and the risk of birth defects in Chongqing, China, and stratified analyses were constructed to evaluate the modifiable factors. A total of 6601 cases of birth defects were diagnosed, of which 56.16% were male. O3 exposure was associated with an increased risk of birth defects, and the most significant estimates were observed in the first month before pregnancy: a 10 ug/m3 increase of O3 was related to an elevation of 4.2% [95% confidence interval (CI), 3.4-5.1%]. The associations between O3 exposure and congenital malformations and deformations of the musculoskeletal system were statistically significant during almost all exposure periods. Pregnant women with lower education and income, and from rural areas, were more susceptible to O3 exposure, with the strongest odds ratios (ORs) of 1.066 (95%CI, 1.046-1.087), 1.086 (95%CI, 1.034-1.140), and 1.053 (95%CI, 1.034-1.072), respectively. Our findings highlight the health risks of air pollution exposure and raise awareness of pregnant women's vulnerability and the susceptibility window period.

RESUMEN

Sterilization of Northern shrimp (Pandalus borealis) is a key tool to ensure their freshness for post-production transportation. However, in the face of the specific problem of quality deterioration caused by the increase of storage environment temperature due to unexpected circumstances or the prolongation of temporary storage time, it is still a technical challenge to realize intelligent decision-making and higher sterilization efficiency. In this paper, we propose an intelligent UV-Ozone sterilization system suitable for cold chain transportation of Northern shrimp (Pandalus borealis). Using hierarchical analysis, equipartition method and the prediction method of generalized linear model, combined with the technology of intelligent control and remote control, we realized the automatic control of the system's UV irradiance from 324 âˆ¼ 1620 J/m2, and ozone concentration from21.4 ∼ 107 mg/cm3 in a graded manner. The accuracy of the predicted structure was verified using a combination of direct measurement and simulation. In addition, the key model of the system, the intensity level decision model, was tested, and the test results showed that the decision model was able to accurately make decisions during the sterilization of Northern shrimp (Pandalus borealis), and the system was able to achieve a sterilization effect of 1-3 orders of magnitude. This reduces quality loss due to unexpected conditions, facilitates real-time monitoring of transported samples by staff, extends the shelf life of the samples, and improves the accuracy of sterilization, increasing the economic value of Northern shrimp (Pandalus borealis).

RESUMEN

Ascorbic acid (AsA) is an indicator of the nutritional value of freshly cut kiwifruit during storage at 4℃, and its degradation can be inhibited after ozone treatment (1 mg/L, 10 min). The aim of this study was to elucidate the regulatory mechanism affecting AsA metabolism in fresh-cut kiwifruit after ozone treatment. In this study, ozone treatment not only prevented the decrease in AsA/dehydroascorbic acid and delayed the accumulation of total soluble solids/titratable acidity, but also altered phytohormone levels differently. Transcriptomic profiling combined with cis-acting element and correlation analysis were performed to reveal that abscisic acid and salicylic acid synergistically delay AsA degradation under ozone-treatment conditions. Actinidia03760, encoding ascorbate peroxidase, could be specifically recognized by the bZIP transcription factor and is considered a key candidate gene for further research. Collectively, ozone treatment is a promising method for preserving AsA content and improving the nutrition of fresh-cut kiwifruit.

RESUMEN

The aim of this study was to investigate the potential of ozonated water as an oxidative cleaning solution to improve the bond strength of a bioactive adhesive system to enamel without prior etching. Forty bovine anterior tooth crowns were used and divided into four groups according to the cleaning solution and storage time: AD24h (cleaning with distilled water, 24 hours of storage), AO 24h (cleaning with ozonized water, 24 hours of storage), AD30D (cleaning with distilled water, 30 days of storage) and AO 30D (cleaning with ozonized water, 30 days of storage). All groups were subjected to the application of the bioactive adhesive system, followed by the manufacture of bioactive bulk fill flow resin composite cylinders (2x2 mm) on the crowns. After each storage period, the samples were evaluated using microshear tests and fracture analysis. The data was statistically analyzed using JAMOVI software, version 1.2.24. The results indicated that there was no statistically significant difference in most of the tooth thirds and groups evaluated, except in the cervical third after 24 hours, where ozonated water showed greater bond strength. This study suggests that ozonized water can potentially benefit the adhesion of bioactive adhesive systems to dental enamel, especially under specific storage and application conditions.

RESUMEN

The terrestrial ecosystem in China mitigates 21%-45% of the national contemporary fossil fuel CO2 emissions every year. Maintaining and strengthening the land carbon sink is essential for reaching China's target of carbon neutrality. However, this sink is subject to large uncertainties due to the joint impacts of climate change, air pollution, and human activities. Here, we explore the potential of strengthening land carbon sink in China through anthropogenic interventions, including forestation, ozone reduction, and litter removal, taking advantage of a well-validated dynamic vegetation model and meteorological forcings from 16 climate models. Without anthropogenic interventions, considering Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSP) scenarios, the land sink is projected to be 0.26-0.56 Pg C a-1 at 2060, to which climate change contributes 0.06-0.13 Pg C a-1 and CO2 fertilization contributes 0.08-0.44 Pg C a-1 with the stronger effects for higher emission scenarios. With anthropogenic interventions, under a close-to-neutral emission scenario (SSP1-2.6), the land sink becomes 0.47-0.57 Pg C a-1 at 2060, including the contributions of 0.12 Pg C a-1 by conservative forestation, 0.07 Pg C a-1 by ozone pollution control, and 0.06-0.16 Pg C a-1 by 20% litter removal over planted forest. This sink can mitigate 90%-110% of the residue anthropogenic carbon emissions in 2060, providing a solid foundation for the carbon neutrality in China.

RESUMEN

Objectives: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of local ozone (O3) injection versus corticosteroid injection in the treatment of mild to moderate carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Patients and methods: This double-blind randomized controlled trial was performed on 42 patients (9 males, 33 females; mean age: 46.7±2.1 years; range, 18 to 70 years) with mild to moderate CTS between May 2021 and June 2021. The corticosteroid group (n=21) was injected with 40 mg triamcinolone, and in the O3 group B (n=21), 4 mL of a 10 mcg/mL oxygen (O2)-O3 mixture was injected. Symptom severity and functional impairments were assessed using a Visual Analog Scale and Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire. Electrodiagnostic and ultrasonographic parameters were obtained at baseline and eight weeks after the procedure. Results: The O2-O3 solution improved pain and Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire score after eight weeks (p<0.001); however, the change was nonsignificant compared to the corticosteroid group (p>0.05). Sensory nerve and compound muscle action potential latencies were not significantly changed eight weeks after O2-O3 injection (p>0.05), while both were significantly decreased in the steroid injection group (p<0.001). Volar bulging and median nerve cross-section surface area were not improved after O2-O3 injection, while the improvement was significant in the corticosteroid arm (p=0.02). Conclusion: Symptoms in patients with mild to moderate CTS may be alleviated by local O2-O3 injection; however, electrodiagnostic and ultrasonographic indices may be unchanged. Corticosteroid local injection may alleviate patient symptoms along with electrodiagnostic and ultrasonographic parameters.

RESUMEN

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of the atmospheric pressure plasma treatment as a surface treatment method on the contact angle and shear bond strength (SBS) of zirconia ceramics and the failure mode between the self-adhesive resin luting agent and zirconia. The zirconia specimens were divided into eight groups based on the surface treatment method: alumina blasting, air plasma, argon plasma (AP), Katana cleaner, ozonated water, ozonated water+AP, Katana cleaner+AP, and tap water+AP. The contact angles, SBS, and fracture modes were tested. AP treatment significantly reduced the contact angle (p<0.0001). The combination of AP and other cleaning methods showed a higher bond strength and more mixed fractures. Our findings indicate that using atmospheric pressure plasma with argon gas, combined with other cleaning methods, results in a stronger bond than when using alumina blasting alone.

RESUMEN

Air pollution is affected by the atmospheric dynamics. This study aims to determine that air pollution concentration values in Istanbul increased significantly and reached peak values due to atmospheric blocking between the 30th of December 2022 and the 5th of January 2023. In this study, hourly pollutant data was obtained from 16 air quality monitoring stations (AQMS), the exact reanalysis data was extracted from ERA5 database, and inversion levels and meteorological and synoptic analyses were used to determine the effects of atmospheric blocking on air pollution. Also, cloud base heights and vertical visibility measurements were taken with a ceilometer. Statistical calculations and data visualizations were performed using the R and Grads program. Omega-type blocking, which started in Istanbul on December 30, 2022, had a significant impact on the 1st and 2nd of January 2023, and PM10 and PM2.5 concentration values reached their peak values at 572.8 and 254.20 µg/m3, respectively. In addition, it was found that the average concentration values in the examined period in almost all stations were higher than the averages for January and February. As a result, air quality in Istanbul was determined as "poor" between these calendar dates. It was found that the blocking did not affect the ozone (µg/m3) concentration. It was also found that the concentrations of particulate matter (PM) 10 µm or less in diameter (PM10) and PM 2.5 µm or less in diameter (PM2.5) were increased by the blocking effect in the Istanbul area. Finally, according to the data obtained using the ceilometer, cloud base heights decreased to 30 m and vertical visibility to 10 m.

RESUMEN

Elevated ozone (eO3) concentrations pose a threat to insect populations by potentially altering their behaviour and physiology. This study investigates the effects of eO3 concentrations on the mountain pine beetle which is a major tree-killing species of conifers in northwestern North America. We are particularly interested in understanding the effects of eO3 concentrations on beetle behaviour and physiology and possible transgenerational impacts on bark beetle broods. We conducted O3-enrichment experiments in a controlled laboratory setting using different O3 concentrations (100-200 ppb; projected for 2050-2100) and assessed various beetle responses, including CO2 respiration, mating behaviour, survival probability, locomotion, and attraction behaviour. Transgenerational impacts on the first and second generations were also analyzed by studying brood morphology, mating behaviour, survival, and pheromone production. We found that beetles exposed to eO3 concentrations had shorter oviposition galleries and reduced brood production. Beetle pheromones were also degraded by eO3 exposure. However, exposure to eO3 also prompted various adaptive responses in beetles. Despite reduced respiration, eO3 improved locomotor activity and the olfactory response of beetles. Surprisingly, beetle survival probability was also improved both in the parents and their broods. We also observed transgenerational plasticity in the broods of eO3-exposed parents, suggesting potential stress resistance mechanisms. This was evident by similar mating success, oviposition gallery length, and brood numbers produced in both control and eO3 concentration treatments. This study demonstrates the sensitivity of mountain pine beetles to increased O3 concentrations, contributing crucial insights into the ecological implications of eO3 concentrations on their populations. Overall, the outcome of this study contributes to informed climate change mitigation strategies and adaptive management practices for the development of resilient forests in response to emerging forest insect pests worldwide.

RESUMEN

Background: Ozone can enhance the expression of some growth factors (GFs) in platelet rich plasma (PRP), recent study showed oxygen-rich PRP (ozonized PRP) have better therapeutic effects on bone and joint diseases. PRP injection has been widely used in the treatment of facial rejuvenation, but the efficacy of sufficient oxygen-rich PRP in facial rejuvenation has not been studied. Objective: Firstly, we examined whether ozone treatment can increase the concentration of GFs of PRP in vitro. And then a variety of subjective and objective detection methods were used to evaluate the effect of sufficient(10-12 mL each time for the injection of face and neck) oxygen-rich (ozonized PRP) PRP injection in facial rejuvenation by follow-up for 6 months. At last, we investigated the satisfaction, side effects and pain score of the treatment through a questionnaire survey. Methods: The concentration of main GFs in PRP treated with different dose of ozone in vitro was measured by ELISA. Clinical picture, the collagen thickness of dermis by reflectance confocal microscope(RCM), skin conditions (including spots, ultraviolet (UV) spots, brown spots, red area, pores, wrinkles, texture and porphyrin) by VISIA were collected before treatment and each month follow-up visit after treatment until 6-month follow-up period was finished. Patients' satisfaction, side effects and pain score were collected at the end of follow-up period. Results: PRP treated by high-dose ozone (57 µg/mL, ozone/PRP volume ratio:1/1) in vitro showed a significant increase in endothelial growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor-ß (TGF-ß) compared to baseline(P < 0.05). Collagen thickness of forehead, cheek and neck improved significantly compare to the baseline until to the 6 months after treatment. Spots, UV spots, brown spots, red area and texture improved significantly compare to the baseline(P < 0.05). All of participants reported improvement and have a median pain score of 4.19. No serious adverse events were observed. Conclusions: Ozone treatment can increase the concentration of GFs such as EGF and TGF-ß in PRP in vitro. Sufficient oxygen-rich PRP injection may be an effective and promising method to treat facial rejuvenation.

RESUMEN

China implemented continuous forestation and experienced significant greening tendency in the past several decades. While the ecological project brings benefits to regional carbon assimilation, it also affects surface ozone (O3) pollution level through perturbations in biogenic emissions and dry deposition. Here, we use a coupled chemistry-vegetation model to assess the impacts of land use and land cover change (LULCC) on summertime surface O3 in China during 2000-2019. The LULCC is found to enhance O3 by 1-2 ppbv in already-polluted areas. In contrast, moderate reductions of -0.4 to -0.8 ppbv are predicted in southern China where the largest forest cover changes locate. Such inconsistency is attributed to the background chemical regimes with positive O3 changes over VOC-limited regions but negative changes in NOx-limited regions. The net contribution of LULCC to O3 budget in China is 24.17 Kg/s, in which the positive contribution by more isoprene emissions almost triples the negative effects by the increased dry deposition. Although the LULCC-induced O3 perturbation is much lower than the effects of anthropogenic emissions, forest expansion has exacerbated regional O3 pollution in North China Plain and is expected to further enhance surface O3 with continuous forestation in the future.

RESUMEN

Ozone (O3) forms in the Earth's atmosphere, both naturally and by reactions of man-made air pollutants. Deleterious effects of O3 have been found in the respiratory system. Here, we examine whether O3 alters olfactory behavior and cellular properties in the olfactory system. For this purpose, mice were exposed to O3 at a concentration found in highly polluted city air [0.8 ppm], and the behavior elicited by social and non-social odors in habituation/dishabituation tests was assessed. In addition, the electrical responses of dopaminergic olfactory bulb (OB) neurons were also evaluated. O3 differentially compromises olfactory perception to odors: it reduces responses to social and non-social odors in Swiss Webster mice, while this effect was observed in C57BL/6 J mice only for some non-social odors. Additionally, O3 reduced the rate of spontaneous spike firing in periglomerular dopaminergic cells (PG-DA) of the OB. Because this effect could reflect changes in excitability and/or synaptic inputs, the ability of O3 to alter PG-DA spontaneous activity was also tested together with cell membrane resistance, membrane potential, rheobase and chronaxie. Taken together, our data suggest the ability of O3 to affect olfactory perception.

RESUMEN

End-stage kidney disease (ESKD) poses a high burden on patients and health systems. While numerous studies indicate an association between air pollution and chronic kidney disease, studies on ESKD are rare. We investigated the association of long-term exposure to nitrogen dioxide (NO2), fine particulate matter (PM2.5), black carbon (BC) and ozone (O3) with ESKD incidence in two large population-based European cohorts. We followed individuals in the Austrian Vorarlberg Health Monitoring and Promotion Program (VHM&PP) and the Italian Rome Longitudinal Study (RoLS) using dialysis and kidney transplant registries. Long-term exposure to pollutants was estimated at the home address using Europe-wide land use regression models at 100x100m scale. Hazard ratios (HR) were determined from Cox-proportional hazard models adjusted for individual and neighbourhood level confounders. We observed 501 events among 136,823 individuals in VHM&PP (mean age 42.1 years; crude incidence rate (IR) 0.14 per 1000 person-years) and 3231 events among 1,939,461 individuals in RoLS (mean age 52.4 years; IR 0.22 per 1000 person-years). In VHM&PP, there was no evidence of an association between PM2.5 or O3 and ESKD. There were elevated HRs but with large confidence intervals for BC (HR 1.17 [95 % confidence interval (CI): 0.98, 1.39] for 0.5*10-5/m), and for NO2 (HR 1.14 [95%CI: 0.96, 1.35] for 10 µg/m3). In RoLS, ESKD was associated with PM2.5 (HR 1.37 [95 % CI: 1.06, 1.76] for an increase of 5 µg/m3), while there was no evidence of association with BC, NO2, or O3 exposure. Our study suggests an association of air pollution with ESKD incidence, which differed between the two cohorts and may possibly be influenced by respective air pollution mixtures.

RESUMEN

Ozone generation is a water disinfection method, superior to chlorine in terms of fewer byproducts and no residual taste. However, its high production cost limits its widespread adoption. This paper designs an ozone generation sinusoidal power supply for water treatment. Ozone generation requires a high-frequency and high-voltage power supply to produce ozone from oxygen molecules. The study evaluates two power supply topologies, one with a parallel LC filter and the other with an LCL filter, assessing their feasibility, effectiveness, and reliability. Theoretically, the LCL filter achieves higher gains than the parallel LC filter. The larger inductance in the parallel LC filter reduces gain, while the larger inductance in the LCL filter increases gain. Simulation and practical results validate these findings, achieving gains of 40 for the parallel LC filter and 150 for the LCL filter.
