RESUMO

The content, management, and implementation of social skills have been developed since the end of the 20th century as a model of capabilities. Thus, as human beings develop and train their basic cognitive and perceptual-motor functions, they increase their ability to solve and cope with difficulties. This article aims to present a bibliometric and systematic review of social skills, using query sources in databases such as Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus between the years 2000 and 2022, with platforms such as Bibliometrix and Gephi. This search yielded a total of 233 records in WoS and 250 records in Scopus that were merged and, after eliminating 143 duplicate data, were consolidated into 340 records that enclose the academic production of 20 years. Through scientific mapping, the main authors, journals, and countries in this field were determined; similarly, the most relevant studies were classified into three categories, namely, classic, structural, and perspectives, which were represented by means of the metaphor of the tree of science. In addition, a program for further studies was planned, such as in-depth qualitative research measuring observationally and directly taking into account emotional expressiveness, emotional understanding, emotion regulation, and behavior, and the impact of social skills training on social problem-solving. Finally, another important aspect to mention is that this research work is useful for the scientific academic community in many areas of knowledge such as psychology, education, and managers of educational institutions.

RESUMO

Tissue engineering aims to develop in-vitro substitutes of native tissues. One approach of tissue engineering relies on using bioreactors combined with biomimetic scaffolds to produce study models or in-vitro substitutes. Bioreactors provide control over environmental parameters, place and hold a scaffold under desired characteristics, and apply mechanical stimulation to scaffolds. Polymers are often used for fabricating tissue-engineering scaffolds. In this study, polycaprolactone (PCL) collagen-coated microfilament scaffolds were cell-seeded with C2C12 myoblasts; then, these were grown inside a custom-built bioreactor. Cell attachment and proliferation on the scaffolds were investigated. A loading pattern was used for mechanical stimulation of the cell-seeded scaffolds. Results showed that the microfilaments provided a suitable scaffold for myoblast anchorage and that the custom-built bioreactor provided a qualified environment for the survival of the myoblasts on the polymeric scaffold. This PCL-based microfilament scaffold located inside the bioreactor proved to be a promising structure for the study of skeletal muscle models and can be used for mechanical stimulation studies in tissue engineering applications.

Introduction: The current situation given by the COVID-19 has not only affected the economy and health of many countries, but has also caused a number of problems in the mental health of the general population. Therefore, the commitment and research among professionals in the social sciences and psychology is necessary. Objective: To structure a method of analysis to evaluate and typify psychometric profiles of positive mental health in the Colombian population in a situation of confinement by COVID-19. Material and Methods: We reviewed the literature related to positive mental health and the multivariate technique of cluster analysis. We took a sample of 270 men and women between the ages of 18 and 75, to whom we applied the Positive Mental Health Scale proposed by Lluch related to the factors of personal satisfaction, prosocial attitude, self-control, autonomy, problem solving and self-updating, and interpersonal relationship skills. We applied the multivariate technique of cluster analysis to establish the psychometric profiles of positive mental health. Results: Four profiles that typify positive mental health in confinement were shown, with profile 1 being rated with an average of 2.05 and profile 2 with 2.69 being in a medium rating, while profile 3 with an average of 3.13 and profile 4 with an average of 3.32 being in a high rating of positive mental health. Conclusions: The proposed method of analysis is significant to evaluate and typify psychometric profiles of positive mental health in confinement by COVID-19(AU)

We report a case of atypical intravascular CD30+ T-cell proliferation in a patient with pyogenic granuloma (Lobular Capillary Hemangioma). The T (CD4) cell population showed cell atypia and a high proliferation index, thus it was necessary to discard an intravascular lymphoma. Cutaneous intravascular lymphoma commonly represents a diffuse large B-cell lymphoma with predominantly intravascular growth, although it could be also represented by intravascular T cell lymphomas. Recently a CD30+ T-cell proliferation was described that could mimic an intravascular T cell lymphoma. In our case TCR rearrangement was null and the patient remained healthy. We report a new case of this benign reactive process and discuss the importance of its differential diagnosis (AU)

If both rapid and genomic pathways may co-exist in the same cell, the involvement of the nuclear vitamin D receptor (VDR) in the rapid effects of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D(3) (1,25-(OH)(2)D(3)) remains unclear. We therefore studied rapid and long term effects of 1,25-(OH)(2)D(3) in cultured skin fibroblasts from three patients with severe vitamin D-resistant rickets and one age-matched control. Patients bear homozygous missense VDR mutations that abolished either VDR binding to DNA (patient 1, mutation K45E) or its stable ligand binding (patients 2 and 3, mutation W286R). In patient 1 cells, 1,25-(OH)(2)D(3) (1 pm-10 nm) had no effect on either intracellular calcium or 24-hydroxylase (enzyme activity and mRNA expression). In contrast, cells bearing the W286R mutation had calcium responses to 1,25-(OH)(2)D(3) (profile and magnitude) and 24-hydroxylase responses to low (1 pm-100 pm) 1,25-(OH)(2)D(3) concentrations (activity, CYP24, and ferredoxin mRNAs) similar to those of controls. The blocker of Ca(2+) channels, verapamil, impeded both rapid (calcium) and long term (24-hydroxylase activity, CYP24, and ferredoxin mRNAs) responses in patient and control fibroblasts. The MEK 1/2 kinase inhibitor PD98059 also blocked the CYP24 mRNA response. Taken together, these results suggest that 1,25-(OH)(2)D(3) rapid effects require the presence of VDR and control, in part, the first step of 1,25-(OH)(2)D(3) catabolism via increased mRNA expression of the CYP24 and ferredoxin genes in the 24-hydroxylase complex.
